I randomly grabbed some images of some of the new collections coming out. I had 19 collections but could only fit 12 in this collage. I guess my frustration with seeing the same thing over and over finally got to me. I just wanted to see some of them side by side to see if I was being overly dramatic with the pink but I think not. Having said that I know that there are also a few collections that are not dominant in pink but the majority of the new releases thus far definitely have the same theme. On the positive side, I am saving myself a lot of money and have another great reason to use my stash! Not to say that I wouldn't buy a sheet here or there but certainly nowhere near a full collection anything.

Well at least they would all mix and match well. LOL
Seeing them side by side like that really brings to light the similarities that's for sure. I don't have an aversion to pink but I don't have a lot of use for it either.

Probably because Spring is the theme at the moment...here's hoping for better mid season releases!! I think their telepathy skills are broken. There are some cute options (yes, cute...adorable, very kid friendly) from Bella Blvd coming. I couldn't quite figure out why I was leaning toward different companies the past year or two...I think this collage pretty much sums it up. I'm going to go with the companies that offer more variety...even if they offer pink here and there, they at least have options that are more than just that. I think I'm used to being disappointed after the holidays. Autumnal lines are ALWAYS my favorites, so going into spring with pastels (not a fan) it would make sense that I would go from one extreme to the other. I'm holding out hope that there might be something like I {heart} Summer coming out for this year's summer...it's still one of my favorite lines from SS ever.

Spring colours, for sure, although when I think of spring, I think more of aqua and lime green and lemon yellow and light to dark purple.
Hoping the summer lines have more primary colours!

The upside is that Gossamer Blue is going to go back to exclusive PL kits. They did 3 in the summer but the color palettes were very drab. One was pastel versions of REALLY dark colors (I know, that sounds like an oxymoron but I can't describe it any other way) and the other two weren't much better...they are going to give it a go again starting next month. Here's hoping it lasts at least 3 months again to make it to mid season releases...I'd take the non summer colored summer kits (minus the pink) from them over these.

the only thing I've seen recently that's tempting me is a couple of the PhotoPlay collections - the new travel one and My Imagination...guess that's good for my freeze

Now I see why so many are asking for less pink. I have to say I don't love any of them, but like you said, nicolep, I'm saving money and I have my stash to keep me warm while I'm frozen. Or until something appeals to me.

Or until something appeals to me. The thing is, the people who seem to like pink think that those of us asking for less pink are saying 'death to all pink' and while that would be nice (my opinion, lol), it's more like we want to see more variety. It seems like more than 90% of what is out there ends up having large amounts of pink in it. There are very few options out there for those of us who are either sick and tired of it or who never liked it to begin with. It's one thing to avoid a paper or two in a line, it's something else to only be able to buy one or two papers in a line because it's all pink. Most of the things without pink are themed for certain holidays, certain seasons or very cutesy boy lines (think dinosaurs, baby, robots, old school video game and music related, etc) and while I'm a mom to 2 boys, I would much rather see generic lines with basics like polka dots, stripes, geometrics and some fun faux mixed media in a color palette WITHOUT pink or at least not on more than 20% of products. I refuse to believe that there is a large enough market for pink obsessed scrapbookers. True, a lot of mainstream youtubers love pink, but that doesn't speak for the whole of the community. I feel like we're being ignored by most companies. That's why my love for Elle's Studio keeps growing...she listens to her customers. It might take a few months to see something because she works pretty far ahead, but she does listen. There have been pops of purple in her non fall/winter themed products for a few months now and the amount of it keeps increasing ever so slightly and I'm beyond grateful. I don't buy things unless I can get them for 40% or more off most of the time, but I am willing to not only pay full price with her business, but do so on a regular basis AND buy multiples of things at full price that I love. I want her to know how much I appreciate it and that I'm willing to pay the price to get what I'm asking for.

I used to have a ton of papers just like what you've described from a company called Treehouse Memories. It was nice paper too, heavyweight cardstock with a solid coordinating color on the B side. I used what I could and offloaded a lot of it in grab bags at garage sales, etc. over the last several years.

Snoozefest alert. It's Barbie's Easter egg factory. Crate Paper's Oasis collection has that one paper I want. You know the one. The black and white "Weekend" print paper. #notpink #notcutesy

I definitely want less pink and more blue. I do have boys but even before I had them, I was not a fan of pink and blue has always been my favorite color. It seems if blue is in a line, it is only in a few papers and embellishments. Also nothing looks new or fresh with these releases. It is the same old thing. I like MH - despite the pink - but her new line looks like a re-hash of what she has already done. As others have said, at least I will be saving money.

What really sucks for me is that I'm happy to support the industry. I know it's struggling (and that's partly why I'm willing to spend a bit more on things I really love when before I was never like that) but I'm not just going to throw money away on things that I don't want or even like out of fear that company won't make it if I don't. I feel like I'm begging companies to make things that I want to buy heaps and heaps of, but they just brush me off with this idea that they know what customers want (which isn't what I'm saying I want to buy) and then I have to sit back and feel sad as I watch companies drop like flies because they refused to listen. For instance...everyone is complaining about the GIANT almost unusable ephemera that AC is doing with every line now...it's gone up in price and it's a fixed 40 pieces now. I miss the days of the ephemera I couldn't get enough of...like the reasonable $3.99 packs that include a great variety that Simple Stories does (Simple Stories, if you're listening, PLEASE DON'T CHANGE IT!!!).

The only one that spoke to me was sunshiny days. I like pink only if it comes inside of a flamingo. Watercolor with small prints is here for a while. Yuck.

The only colours that stand out are that cobalt blue in the Amy Tan and the bright green in tealightful Are you listening manufacturers?? We need VARIETY......!!PLEASE..... ...and....don't flame me but .....gasp......I am over turquoise/ aqua/ gold as well.......

I love pink but I go more for the darker shades. I agree there is way too much 'baby' pink. A lot of these lines also seem to feature pastel colors. I get that people scrap their babies and very young children but not every scrapper wants to use pastels exclusively for these photos.

God, I miss October Afternoon!!! They may have had a bit of pink, but they had such luscious blues and greens and such rich colors the pink didn't jump out like these collections.
Come back, OA!!!,,,

That collage certainly wouldn't encourage me to buy (I shouldn't anyway given the size of my stash, so take my opinion with a pinch of salt) but I have to say that having seen Shimelle's video of her collection there were quite a few papers in it that I'd happily grab. Maybe other lines would be the same if I could just be bothered to look in detail!

I love pink and use a great deal of it. In 5 of those collections, I'd get several sheets. But the majority I'm not fond of, including shimelle's.

I love pink and it is everywhere in my house, wardrobe and my paper crafting so the pink is not a turn off for me but I get that not everyone likes or uses pink and boy there is a lot of pink out at the moment. The thing with a lot of these lines is that I am finding them all very similar to each other and to what has been and there is only so much of the same thing that you can use.

I would expect more pink this release as it will have a lot of spring/ valentine items. In the fall release if you made the same collage would there be as much pink? And if the papers were flipped to the B sides would there be as much pink? I do not know the answers to the above questions I am just curious what those 2 things would show.

And all of this pink has carried into most of the kit clubs. My girlfriend subscribes to several kits and we have been commenting on this for months.
