Last night everyone was off in different directions. So, I'll make the creamy chicken penne tonight. Once teenagers drive and have p/t jobs you get fleeting glimpses. For people who are hardly at home they sure snarf a lot.
What's on your menu?
Have a great Wednesday. Enjoy your day.

Since I did noodles and potatoes already this week, today needed to be a 'rice' day. I dug in my freezer and found a package labeled: "beef-brown rice-zucchini--top with tomato slices and cheese". I don't remember making it, but since it's in my freezer, I must have.

It is another wet, cold day here in my area of southern Ca. So tonight is baked honey mustard chicken, carrots, cranberry orange muffins, and cranberry sauce!

Tonight's going to be braised chicken breasts, DH-requested hash brown potatoes, and a green salad. lol Trixie Bender - I do the same thing. In spite of keeping an inventory, I keep finding stuff I don't remember making but it's there so I must have. That ol' CRS malady is alive and well in my house!

Salmon, couscous and veggies. Not a fan (come to think of it, I prefer cake to dinner), but it's healthy "they" say. And it's cold, wet and miserable outside, so I think I need some chocolate. Or cake maybe......

It is freaking freezing here!!!! We have had multiple days in the minus 20 degree Celsius range ... I'll let you work that out into Fahrenheit but let's just say that it is stinking COLD So what does dh want for dinner? Salad So I'm making the same one I made the other day that was a hit with dh and me: Latin Chipotle Quinoa Salad with AvocadoI'm also going to add some chicken to it this time to up the protein ... The Birdhouse Lady, it sounds like both of our dh's are on the same diet plan which is to make the family as miserable as possible

All of the males in my household seem to be suffering from mageircophobia. Is it mageircophobia(Ya. I looked it up on Google.) or laziness? I have menfolk, too. I woke up to youngest son's smoothie explosion. Yes, it's healthy to bring a smoothie to school. No it's not healthy to leave smoothie chunks all over the kitchen. Mommy has sharp kitchen tools and she knows how to use them.

I think that leannec and I are living parallel lives!
1. It is freezing a** here and not a warmer day in sight! This morning it was -5
2. Our husband's diets are driving us nuts
3. We are sick of cooking dinner!!
I really have no clue what we are having for dinner. I would like to grill some lean steaks but the grill doesn't work that great when it is this cold and I hate going outside 75 times to see if the meat is cooked.
I am sure whatever I end up making it will include a salad.

We had late dinner, as my son was at Tai Chi - a very yummy lamb and chickpea curry, served over rice.
I am heading to my dad's beach house this afternoon until Monday, and I don't know if I'll have much internet access - last time I visited there was no wifi. Have fun without me!

Trixie Bender, I applaud you for opening your freezer. I'm a bit frightened of mine just now. Yoga night! As soon as I came in from work, I changed into yoga gear so I won't find an excuse not to go. Some nights it's just so difficult to get back out. It will be salad here tonight as well. We have a little leftover chili to go with the salad. leannec and The Birdhouse Lady, I'm not going to share today's temp, but I can assure you it's a positive rather than a negative number.

It's raining, it's pouring and I wish *I* were snoring. Once I pick up ods we are home for the evening to veg. Maybe make cookies and watch a movie.
We ended up getting Mexican food take out last night. So we have cooked chicken that is diced up and I have teriyaki pork in the crock pot.
I have no idea what is dinner, but at least there are some options.
I'm thinking the pork with roasted carrots and rice. Although, I think chicken fried rice sounds good. Ugh!

I'm not sure there would be an audience for our type of humor even on late, late night TV, but scrapmaven and I seem to crack each other up. Oh, scrapmaven, I think you nailed it with laziness on the part of menfolk (and womenfolk not named 'mom') in my house. They should all keep in mind how many potential weapons we have at our disposal.

What a day. DH is over at DS's townhouse painting so I went to Costco to buy the sofa DS picked out last week. Get there and there is only the display sofa and it has some dings. They look on the computer and there are 2 at the other Costco about 10 miles away. Drive over there and the guy who was going to help me get it on the flatbed can't find it. Goes and looks on the computer and it is on *hold* for someone. I said *I didn't think you held stuff for people* and he replied *we usually don't*. I had already called the company that was supposed to deliver it to DS TH so I had to call them and cancel. The guy at Costco said they will be getting more in. He BETTER be right!! So that took up almost my entire morning and all I have to show for it is a box of Mini Wheats I picked up at Costco. UGH. Dinner is the thighs I was going to fix last night but fixed vegetable beef soup instead because we wanted to take DS over to see the TH. He has only seen it twice ~ when he bought it in 2014 and when they did the home inspection. Now that it is clean it looks much better. The gal he bought it from put quality fixtures and appliances in. Front loading W/D, Jenn-Air fridge and a Miele dishwasher. The tenants were slobs so DS is replacing the upstairs carpets and putting laminate downstairs.
