Someone in the thread said she had 60 first cousins. 60!
I have 10, 5 on each side. I'm not really close to any of them anymore. The majority of them are quite a bit older than me.
How many first cousins do you have?

i have lots but the great coincidence is that the first grandchildren/cousins born in my mom's family was me and my cousin who were born on the SAME DAY to the only two girls in the family. my cousin and i like to say we are twins from different parents.

2. Only on one side. My dad was the only child in his family to have kids. I'm also estranged from one first cousin so I really only keep in touch with one.

2 on my mum's side (both younger) and 5 on my dad's side (all significantly older) - so 7 total
my children have 9 on DH's side (all significantly older) and 2 on my side (also significantly older)...they are gaining 3 step-cousins this summer (roughly the same age as my two youngest) so 11 now and 14 soon

only 12 on one side- but I don't know 6 of them and one died. I grew up with 5 of them but only close to one. And I am grateful for that.

33 on my mom's side and 6 on my dad's. I only live close to one, but Facebook has been so great about connecting us all. I'm second to the oldest and my son was born a week before the second to the youngest!

I have 4. I had 5 but one of my cousins passed away. My parents each had 2 siblings but not a lot of cousins.
My girls have 4 first cousins.

I have 15, my partner has none. I agree with Colleen, Facebook has been very useful for keeping in touch with them all ever since my grandparents died.

I have 5.
Three from my Dad's side and two from my Mom's side. We don't communicate with Dad's family (really long story), so just the two on my Mom's side. One lives across the country so we don't see him really, the other is local and we see on special occasions.

Only 4 and they are all about a decade older than me. One I've never met and I only met her brother about 10 years ago for the first time.
My kids only have 4 too.

I have 4, but since my grandmother's death, two of them don't speak to us. Another is across the country, and the last is a missionary in Peru. I wish I got to see them more.

My father was one of 13 and my Mom was one of eight. I have to say 75-100 range. I have some I haven't seen since I was a child. I am one of nine and my boys have 21 on my side and 12 on their dad's.

I have 18. I wish I was close to any of them. There are 5 who grew up in the same town as us but their mom didn't want anything to do with us.

There are 63 (I think) grandchildren on my mom's side (my grandparents had 10 kids) but 13 of those are my siblings and me, so 50 on her side and on my dad's side there (he had three siblings) are 24 grandchildren, so 11 cousins there. I am pretty close to all the cousins in my age range on both sides. We actually do a cousins retreat for my mom's family that garners 12-14 female cousins each year.
61 cousins total.
My kids have 31 cousins.

My dad was an only child, and my mother had 2 brothers.
When I started dating my DH and saw how big his family is it overwhelmed me!!

I lost count- it's complicated.. its probably 50-75 range. My siblings kids is growing too because a lot of them are still having kids. My sister is pregnant with their third. She was a pleasant surprise this year. Dh's side is much smaller.
p.s my oldest neice shares a bday with my Dh. Some of the neices and nephews birthdays share anniversary dates.

Nineteen.
However I am far far closer to my "step" cousins via my step-mom than those on my mom's side. I haven't had any contact with my mom's side of the family in years (long story). Counting my step cousins who I see somewhat regularly, and was very close to as a child (at least those close in age) that adds another nine.
Very spread out in age. I have a cousin on my dad's side who is probably almost twenty years older than me and twin cousins on my step-mom's side who are younger than my daughter by a few years (and my step-mom and mom are the same age/generation).

I have six cousins on my dad's side and thirteen on my mom's side. I'm the oldest of all of them. And yes, Facebook has been a great way to stay in touch, we all live all over the place.
