I have been staying off Facebook for the opposite reason… All the Trump hates that is expressed. I am not a Trump supporter, but I support my country and do not see that all this hate is doing any good at all. I do not like trump, but I want him to succeed as president because I want my country to succeed . I'm saddened by all the hate too. I've had to hide more posts by my liberal friends then by people I know that are Trump supporters I didn't vote for him but he's my president. I want him to succeed for our country. I'm on the west coast and a few hours behind everyone else in todays proceedings. I've been watching ABC and I've been impressed with their words. They have talked about the divide in this country and trying to unify us. It was mentioned that Trump was elected to change Washington and the politics as usual atmosphere. As they said, change will not unite people unless it has a positive outcome. So it will take time. I've never watched an inauguration as I've always been at work. I had today off to go to the Portland dog show but decided not to. I'm glad I'm not in Portland because of the protests and because I'm watching something I've never watched before.

From BOTH sides. This is America and my friends have every right to their choice as President but this hate is out of control. It sucks. Its tiring. He is our President like it or not. I am going to pray that me makes the best decision he can for this country. This hate isnt going to get us anywhere.

I'm taking a break from my own Facebook. I posted something fairly innocuous yesterday (I hardly ever post anything at all), just a complaint about the proposed new budget that eliminates the National Endowment for the Arts and other things I care about. Well, apparently, according to the notifications turning up in my email, it has turned into all-out war. My liberal cousins are arguing with conservative peas. My Club Scrap friends are squabbling among themselves. I'm afraid to go back and actually read it, so I'm just avoiding Facebook completely. My TV is tuned to recorded stuff because I couldn't bear to watch the inauguration or its aftermath. If anything interesting has happened, I may not know about it till tomorrow.

I'm sorry that your post was taken over by the ugly I think more people are tired of that then support it so hopefully it will slow down. Probably not as soon as we'd like, but hopefully soon Watching the inauguration today has spurred me to also watch the coverage of the marches tomorrow. I wasn't into them before but now I'm looking forward to watching and supporting. Yes I really do support both sides when I can

I haven't been on Facebook since the election. I don't miss it at all. Now it's kind of a challenge to see how long I can go without it.
And truthfully, I'm about ready to give up on this place too and just pop in to lurk every now and again.

I won't even read the hate I either hide or ignore it. It's not worth it. It's time to stop and come together again. I too try to support the person who is in office. Even though I may not always agree with them. But the vileness and anger that has come from this election is astounding and sad. My family has been impacted and I am actually quite shocked at how it has. I come from a very mix bagged. I have a brother that won't speak to me because of how I voted. I am not outspoken, I won't argue politics or apologize for my view. But I will share my opinion in ways appropriate I hope. I am more moderate than most conservatives because of my upbringing.I hope the weekend will remain peaceful.

I'm seeing both sore losers AND poor winners today. It's depressing. I had to back out. Usually my fb is a happy place, but today has pushed a lot of people on both sides right over the edge.

Well well well, all those supporter friends that were so quiet on fb the last 30ish days sure are making up for it. They are out loud and proud. My feed is getting uglier by the hour. It's really hard not to scream "I'm liberal and I've only not worked 6 months out of 40 YEARS! Liberals work AND get days off.
