Do you lay out your entire page down to the placement of the smallest embellishment, and when you're happy with it, attach everything? or Do you attach as you go? or Some other process?
I used to do the first method -- lay out the entire page -- then glue/sew it down. Now, as soon as I decide something, I go ahead and complete it (paint; sew/glue/staple in place). Not sure when I changed from one method to the other, but it is likely I was influenced by watching too many online tutorials using the 'as - you - go' method.

Sort of a mix. I scraplift 99% of the time, so I always have a basic plan. I won't lay out all my smaller embellishments, but I definitely work w/the placement of larger embellishments, pieces of patterned paper, journalling block & photos before I glue them down. I've gotten bitten in the butt more than once by gluing as I go and finding things weren't lined up the way I wanted or didn't fit on the page.

I layout the larger elements first and move them around before attaching. The small stuff I'll add later

I lay out mostly everything (except maybe the title) before I stick things down. I like to play with moving things around to be sure I like where I placed it.

I lay stuff out. After last weekend of scrapping I realized I'm the slowest scrapper ever. Sometimes I make templates, and do a trial run of techniques.

I do both. Mostly, I will put my main pieces down and get them glued. Then I play around with the smaller embellishments. Sometimes I just stick it down and go.

I lay everything out and then glue, I really tried to be spontaneous and glue as I went but that process really was not for me.

Pull out the pictures Then the CS and PP that will fit Find the 3x4 or bigger embellies swish Rinse & repeat until ready Then I stick it down then dig and hunt for that "one more thing" about 20 times... Stick that down and this down then cuss because I wanted it here...instead of there.... Hunt some more to find what I want to fill that space I meant this to go to... Swear Find something that will do..stick that... DONE!

I start with the pictures.
I pull papers and embellishments that would compliment the photos.
I see what tools, etc., I have that might be useful.
I play around with the layout design till I figure out what I want to do (no, I do not use sketches like so many folks do--they don't work well for me).
My layout usually kind of evolves from what I first think I am going to do.
I almost never stick anything down until I am pleased with the results, then I get out the adhesives.

I go step by step: Pick out pictures. Then papers. Then embellishments. Then lettering. Then journal.
I attach as I go along. I frequently have to move things around.

Grab pics.
I pick out background paper (cardstock or pp).
Usually roughly decide how I will put those down. If I like it, adhere it.
Then I start filling in with journaling cards and embellishments. Adhere as soon as I see I like it. Biggest embellies first, progressively tucking in smaller ones.
Sequins and Stickles last.

First I pretend I'm going to clean up my crafting space. Then I find a photo I want to use (or 4 or 5 photos). I find a design sketch that looks like fun. Choose papers & embellishments. Move the embellishments so many times that I have to use glue since the adhesive no longer works and add more embellishment to hide all the torn spots. Agonize over the title. Journal. Take a photo - post to paperartistsonline.com/ and send via email to my kids. Show the page to my husband and then place it on the stack of "to be added to an album" pages.

I lay it out, then glue when I'm done. Sometimes I leave uh glued till the next day, just to make sure I'm happy with it.

PamC -- So funny. Even though I glue as I go now, I still sometimes use temporary adhesive just in case I have space issues towards the end and have to move something up, down, or over a tad so it doesn't run off the page.

I think of what I want to scrap first, then decide on a title. Then I fire up my laptop and design the entire layout with my cutter software to create my sketch, including the title, paper piecings, journaling spots, everything. Then I agonize over paper color and pattern choices for far too long and ultimately make some decisions. Then I cut out my pieces, embellish with chalks and pens, and glue everything down. It takes me almost no time at all to assemble the layout at that point because I have already taken the time to design everything so it will all fit together perfectly like a puzzle. I always have a pretty good picture in my head of what the finished layout will look like, and I'm usually spot on when it's done.

1. Photo placement 2. Choose paper, cut, and adhere it 3. Figure out where to put journaling 4. Embellish 5. Decide where to put the title 6. Print journaling and adhere 7. Cut title on Cameo and adhere
I feel like title placement should come earlier in the process, but I've never been able to make that happen. It's not as important to me as pictures and paper. I always manage to fit in somewhere.

Adhere as soon as I see I like it. Biggest embellies first, progressively tucking in smaller ones. Sequins and Stickles last. This is how I do it as well. If I think I am going to see on the layout I plan where my jouralling cards will go as well because I may want to tuck it in before I see.

I start with pics. I usually use up to 5 in various sizes on a page. I pick what embellishments or stickers that I want to use then I pick my papers. I glue down after I arrange my page. I can't do it as I go.

I start with my pics or story, but usually the pics. Then I choose the paper. Usually 3 or 4 PP's and maybe a kraft CS base.
Decide how I want to arrange the photos, depending on the photo count, it will be a one or 2 page spread.
Then if it is more than 2 or 3 photos I will get out my graph paper to plan the LO, usually over two pages. I have tried sketches, but my photos never seem to match any sketches I can find, so making my own works best for me. I save these sketches too, so I can use them again.
After photo placement, I choose my back ground layers. And then where my title and journaling will go.
Then I start adhering. Background layers, photos, title & journaling.
Then all the little embellishments, accents, etc.
If I am going to sew on the LO, ink, stamp, etc. I will do that step where it seems to fit best.

I have the worst process ever. It takes ages to finish a set of pages. I work chronologically, and will 'work' with 3 months of pictures/events at a time. Phase I 1. Resize/crop photos in Photoshop, and send them for print. Sometimes I'll add words to photos. 2. Set up my base layout, which means mat photos, pick background paper. I actually stick this down. Do this for all 3 months of photos/events. Phase II 1. Type journaling. 2. Print on correct colored cardstock. Again, for all 3 months of events. Phase III 1. Add embellishments, printed journaling, and title (if I didn't do it in phase II). Do this for all 3 months.
So, I make 3 separate passes per page, sometimes weeks apart. By the end, I'm sometimes so sick of the page, I don't care about the end product. I've tried to change up my process, but always end up going back to it.

I start with a bunch of pictures, sometimes printed a very long time ago. Then pick paper and embellishments to go with the photos, lay it all out and then stick it down. Then add Journaling. These days I get most of my scrapbooking done while we're staying at a family cabin w/o access to a printer, so I tend to journal by hand and use letter stickers for titles. I think I would lose interest if it took me weeks to complete a LO.

I am super left brained so I don't have a creative bone in my body. So I pick the pictures I want to use then either use a sketch or a LO I've clipped out of a magazine. I pull some papers and embellish and kind of sketch placement. Then lay everything down, move it around until I like it, then start gluing. Once I get the basic paper and photo placement, I start embellishments and titles and journaling. Then I write the date on the back and, if I used someone's LO for inspiration, I write their name, the publication and the month it was published.

I go with my mood....sometimes starting with the paper and sometimes with the photo. I never plan a layout...it comes alive as I work on it.

My simple pages are story-focused, so the layout revolves around words. I position my journaling, title, & supporting photo(s) on a sheet of cardstock, then embellish with actual memorabilia, patterned paper, contrasting color of cardstock, diecuts, stamps, etc.
