Because they live in an echo-chamber and it's perfectly acceptable there? I just want to make clear that you don't think it's ok bc it happened it Texas that all of us in Texas think that this is ok? I have lived all around the world, I have dual citizenship but have lived in Texas most of my life. & never in my life would I agree with this teachers actions. She should be fired. Most of us here in Texas would not agree with this teacher & her poor behaviour. delila Nope, not at all. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) "Because they" meaning people like this, not teachers like this or people from Texas...just people who cannot/will not get out of their own bubble and surround themselves with people who only reinforce their own stupidity, i.e. an echo-chamber.

That's not a kind of echo-chamber situation, though. This is clearly a person who was able to be a frakking MO-ron all by her lonesome. It's not clear whether or not students witnessed this, but posting on social media on top of it? ![](https://media.giphy.com/media/Pgy4Na8aRyBuE/giphy.gif)

In Texas I think we get a bit a reputation of being a bunch of gun toting idiots....some of us are & some of us aren't. Clearly that teacher has no business with a gun or being in the classroom. delila "Because they" meaning people like this, not teachers like this or people from Texas...just people who cannot/will not get out of their own bubble and surround themselves with people who only reinforce their own stupidity, i.e. an echo-chamber.

Not OK at all!
Can't believe anyone would think that was a good idea.

Holy crap! She should be fired for that. There's no reason to do that.

Love him or not, it is pretty repulsive to yell "die" while shooting a person's image with a squirt gun, pretending to murder them.
But to post it online? That's just plain stupid. Did she really not think she'd face consequences?

I just read about that earlier today. why? because they're nuts, just plain nuts. that isn't anyone I'd let be a teacher to one of my kids. If she isn't fired, then that isn't a school (or district) I'd want my kids in either. OTOH, it's surely a public school and I wouldn't put any of my kids into a public school these days. Maybe after DTs admin gets 'em cleaned up. otherwise, there's a bunch of crazoid people in them running things and teaching the kids. Of course, you are entitled to your opinion, but there is certainly a lot of generalizing in your sweeping condemnation of public schools! I can assure you that my students learned a lot and that my crazy moments were intentional ( like a singing, dancing Mighty Mitochondrion that visited my class room every year wearing a cape and a Mardi Gras mask.

Absolutely unacceptable. The consequences should be harsh...as in termination.
On a side note anytime I read a Todd Starnes' opinion piece and the comments after it makes me sad and question how people can actually think some of crap that they spew. As much as you want to hope that it is just someone sitting behind a keyboard trying to rile people up, you know the reality is there are people who actually feel that way.

My children are grown and my dgd is homeschooled. In today's world, I would send my children to private school or religious school and not public school.
Why? I think government regulations, restrictions, tests, mainstreaming and the inability to get rid of problem students make it impossible for teachers to effectively do their jobs and next to impossible for the average student to get a safe, appropriate education.

While I don't like all the regulation, restrictions, and over testing, I do not think that it is impossible for students to get safe, appropriate education. I teach in one district, my children go to school in another. they are safe and while the education is not perfect, it is appropriate. I can't imagine all private or religious schools are perfect either. But I don't live in a high crime area and while out rural schools lack funding, I d2o think think our schools or districts are bad. We just get creative with technology and hope that the heater works and open windows and pray for clouds during hot times. I do understand that there are probably some areas/districts that are lacking and are bad. What I don't know is how taking money from already strapped schools helps those students.

And because reasonable people can disagree as you and I do, I am firmly in favor of vouchers.

We all know I have no sympathy for Trump and even I have to say that's gotta be grounds for dismissal. Not ok.
And before someone calls me out on saying I want Trump assassinated - that is not the case. I simply said I believe it could happen, and admittedly I said if he was out of control enough it may be an inside job. I hate the thought of things getting so bad that such an action would be deemed necessary for the safety/security of your Republic, which is the only scenario in which I see it happening.

She is an idiot.
And Trump's recommedation for Secretary of Education wants to put guns in schools. Seems like a great idea, no?

We have done it all, private, religious, charter and public. Each has its issues and strengths. I do know that strong public schools are one of the best ways for people to climb out of poverty. Stripping American public schools of funding is not just going to hurt the most disenfranchised in this country, it is going to hurt everyone of us. Dumbing down America helps no one but the megalomaniacs who want to control the population.
