A few books came in all at once at the library for me recently so I've been reading a bit. What is the latest book you read that you really loved. Mine is a A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. I don't want to give away too much so i'll just say it's about a grumpy old man and the people he meets. I really enjoyed it.

I read Jodi Picoults latest book and I like it okay. It was called Small Great Things

Currently reading Talking As Fast As I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls by Lauren Graham. She's pretty funny.

I read a book called Keeper by Mal Peet. It is maybe 6th-high school, but I really liked it (I teach it this semester, so I read it first).

The last great book I read was Behind Closed Doors ... the characters were well developed (one is super creepy) and the last page is the best!

I was going to say the latest Jodi Picoult book too, but see you've read it.
I also enjoyed News Of The World. I forget who the author is, but it was a good, quick read about a Captain returning a girl to her family who was captured by native Americans. Quite an adventure and ends quite nicely.

When I read your post title, I immediately thought of A Man Called Ove . Definitely one of my favorite books ever. I also love the Armand Gamache series by Louise Penny.

I just finished reading If I Forget You by Thomas Christopher Greene and enjoyed it even though there was a few holes in the premise that would normally bother me, I let them slide because this book is really well written. I picked this up off our librarians' recommend shelf and will look for other books by Greene.

Ove and I took a long time to warm up to each other. The last really great book that I read (non-religious) was probably, hmmmm, Doctor Sleep by Stephen King or The Sound of Gravel by Ruth Wariner.

I read constantly-there isn't a day that goes by that I'm not reading so this question is difficult for me. I'll qualify by picking a book that was so great I bought a copy for myself to keep. That book is "The Snow Child" by Eowyn Ivey. Loved everything about it!

I have a strong love/hate relationship with this book. IT ENDS WITH US by Colleen Hoover. I love the story but was bothered by a choice that was made by the main character.

I have just finished Mad Girl by Bryony Gordon which was excellent. It's a memoir of how she developed and then dealt with depression and OCD. Despite its subject matter, it is amusing and intelligent, and just a really good read.

The Dry by Jane Harper. It's a mystery set in Australia. And spoiler alert -- there's a Huntsman spider in it!

I was late to the game, it has been out for a minute, but I just read it a few months ago. Five Nights at Memorial is the best book I have read in a long time, I loved it. I am an RN, so not sure if that influenced me, but I thought it was great.

I just finished reading The Last Days of Night by Graham Moore. It is a historical fiction about Thomas Edison, his patents on the light bulb, and George Westinghouse and the attorney he hired to fight the patents. This book is beautifully crafted, and reads like a mystery. I can't recommend it highly enough. I learned a lot from reading it, and I truly could not put it down.

I just read Palm Trees in the Snow, which was one of the Kindle first books for Jan 2017. It was long, a saga spanning 3 generations. It was a well-researched historical fiction with deeply developed characters. Due to the time period and geographic area, some parts were are to read, but I think they were necessary to keep the story historically accurate. I was sad when it ended.

After seeing it mentioned in a reading thread here a while ago; I checked out A Man Called Ove recently. I gave it several chapters, waiting for it to get better, then gave up. Maybe I need to give it another chance! We just finished "The Crown", which made me want to read more. I've never been very interested in the royal family until now. I got "The Royals" by Kitty Kelley at the library, and it's sooo gossippy and detailed; I love it! I also checked out 2 cookbooks by Alton Brown. I am getting SO SO tired of following a recipe on my phone, and either ads pop up, , or something else annoying happens and the recipe disappears. I wanna go old school and go back to using actual cook BOOKS.
