I noticed on one thread there is a post that sets my spidey sense tingling and saw that the poster is listed as a "Guest" and is not a Member of the forum.
Most boards I follow don't allow posting unless you are a member.
Not that having to register and become a member before posting will do away with trolling or posting with an agenda, but it will at least make them work a little harder to post here.
Does anyone know if that is possible here?

It's totally possible. You can make it so you can't view unless you're a member as well (I admin on another proboard).

Interesting. I posted to this thread last night that I somehow posted as a Guest after signing up, but I don't see my post here now. ?

I didn't know how to sign up, so when I tried to post to this it said I had to register.

I would hope that non-registered "guests" would not only be unable to post to a thread, but I'd really like it best if they couldn't even read the boards without registering! I know that's an option, having moderated a Proboard before.

The problem with only members being able to read the board is that many people will not register for a place if they can't see what is posted there.
For some types of boards, that's not a problem, especially if you want to keep the board fairly limited in size.
If we wanted to appeal only to members of the old Two Peas site, it might be fine to make the board posts accessible by members only.
If we want to grow in the future to attract new people, it might be better to leave the posts accessible by anyone.
The admin could always set up a separate forum/folder for sensitive topics that could only be seen by registered members.

Yes, the old Two Peas site could be read by anyone.
