I swear, every time I listen to Jason Mraz, he makes my eyes well up. I don't know if it's the arrangement, his voice, his lyrics..but so it goes. I listen to him sing and it makes me cry. I've seen him in concert three times, and he's like magic to me. I just bought "Yes!" and I'm currently listening to the songs and *sniffle sniffle*.

Floor Janson, the new singer with Nightwish. The way she ends the song Ghost Love Score, live at Wacken, gives me goosebumps

I'm a Jason Mraz fan too, but no crying.
I won tickets to see him several years ago. It was at a wine tasting place in the Sacramento, Calif. area. I was so excited, my DD and I were in the very front about 4 feet from him. They whisked him in, and he played with his eyes closed. Every single song, and even in between when he talked a little bit. Eyes closed. Then they whisked him off to get ready for a concert in SF that night, so no chance to get an autograph or any better photos. Hmph. James Blunt was there too (he was just getting started back then- his one hit wasn't out yet), DD got to have her photo taken with him & autograph. They both looked they needed more sleep and showers. I remember taking photos of his shoes and guitar since really, there's only so many photos to take of someone with their eyes closed (back in the 35mm film days).

When KD Lang sang Hallelujah at the Olympics I had a reaction that was unknown to me. I'm rarely moved to tears or even emotion by performers so it was quite suprising to me.

Ray LaMontagne. His voice is so rough and earthy, as are most of his songs. His Be Here Now is my favorite song.

I've seen him in concert three times, too! Love that magical voice of his, and yes, it's made me well up more than once.
Other singers I love: Elvis, Karen Carpenter, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Mary Chapin Carpenter, k.d. lang, Lyle Lovett...

Obscure alternative band you've probably never heard of: Blue October. Lead singer Justin Furstenfeld has an amazing voice and his lyrics have such deep meaning. He has struggled with depression for years, and recently went through a horrible custody battle for his daughter (he lost) and wrote many songs about the experience. Fast forward two years or so later he's in a much better place and the newest album reflects his attitude accordingly.

I'm friends with one of the band members sisters so I see lots of her Blue October pics.

Jennifer Warnes, Jim Reeves, k.d.lang. My daughter. She has a stunning, pure, clear voice. She sang with the National Girls Choir for three years, successfully re-auditioning every year. She has the sort of voice that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up, especially when you know her background. (And this is the opinion of everyone who hears her, not just her proud mum!)

Norah Jones. - I think she has an incredibly gorgeous voice. Anything from the "Come Away With Me" album gets me very choked up because I listened to that a LOT when my son was an infant and it just instantly brings back all the feels.

David Cook makes me all gushy feeling, especially his song "kiss on the neck", but there is no specific singer who makes me tear up. Certain songs make me tear up though, embarrassingly enough Olivia Newton John swings most of the ones that make me tear up. Don't Cry for Me Argentina, Change, The Promise, Small Talk and Pride.

Eric Church. He sings with such passion and emotion. Watching his acoustic version of Like Jesus does makes me tear up every time.

Ray Lamontagne. You can just hear the pain in his voice when he sings Like Rock And Roll And The Radio www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPZCfXYthQQI love Alison Krauss too. Her voice is so pure.
