all the professing of undying love is cracking me up. Not really sure what's wrong with that. I mean, it can get overly mushy, but it's nice to see something more positive than all of the crap that has been out there, lately.

Call me cynical, but the sappiest love posts on Facebook are usually the same people 1-2 years later whose relationship status is single.

I HATE Valentine's Day. And it's not because I'm a single girl. I hate it even when I am in a relationship. I just don't go for the whole red roses and chocolate thing. I don't want a romantic dinner in a restaurant with 100 other couples having a romantic dinner. Please do not ever buy me a giant teddy bear! I went to the grocery store on the way home from work, and it was full of husbands buying flowers and chocolate covered strawberries for their wives. On the way home. And they looked so annoyed having to wait in those enormous lines to do it… I think it is a Hallmark holiday! Suckers.
I do love it for kids. My students are so cute. Their little Valentine boxes and all the Pinterest-y valentines their moms spent hours making. It takes us hours to hand them out because they cannot read the names. And I just want to drink large amounts of wine. But they love it. They get so excited to give me the Valentines mugs and heart-shaped boxes of candy and pink teddy bears. FYI-- I have enough chocolate now to last through a nuclear winter.

Someone, late last night or very early this morning, put gobs of chocolates on everyone's desks (800 ppl) with a cute note. It was sweet and charming. So, not a bad day, I'll take it.
