I too have fine, thin hair. I have it collar length, lots of layers, with bangs to cover my forehead wrinkles. I wash and condition daily because I use strong hairspray to keep it in some semblance of order. I wash, dry and go.
this is how i have my hair too. same hair care routine.

I love long hair, but my hair is so fine and thinning, that it goes totally flat with any amount of length. My hairstylist recommends the angled bob, but I don't like the look on me. I just had my hair cut into a longish messy textured shaggy pixie with bangs. She layered it with a razor so there are few blunt ends. It is so much easier to take care of. I wash it every day, use a Sea Salt spray and a root lift, dry with a blow dryer with a concentrator attachment to direct the air on a rounded hairbrush. If I want more lift and more texture, I use a volumizing spray such as Serge Normant Instant Volumizing Spray. I spray it on my fingers and apply it directly to my roots and style my hair with my fingers. I rarely use a brush. I told you I like a messy look. . A quick spray of Elnett hairspray and it lasts all day.

Since the top of my head was shaved off 14 months ago I cut mine off to blend in with the grow out. My haircut is a stacked A line. The back is about an inch longer than my hairline and the front barely touches my chin when I pull it. Funny thing is that since the brain tumor I focus on my hair and what a huge loss it's been for me to have it shaved off. But now that it's short I kind of like it. It's fun and stylish and I have a lot less bad hair days now. On the flip side it's a lot more of an up keep. It's a style and color that needs a trim/color every 6 weeks. I stretch it out to 8 weeks to save money. I don't think I will go back to long hair. Jen

I keep mine short, similar to this. A quick blow dry upside down, some molding mud, and in 5 minutes I'm done. It holds up great through two hours of sweaty work-outs.
