Last night dh unfroze some of the Tuscan bean stew I made a couple weeks ago. I love that I was able to do that for my guys. Not sure what they're eating tonight. Youngest ds got his first 2 college acceptances yesterday. So, we're sort of celebrating at our house. His top choices won't notify him until March. So, it's an exciting few weeks here. We're getting ready to say good bye to both our son and our bank account. What's on your menu? Hope everyone who is feeling ill is doing much better today and that scrappert has results from her scan and it's something minor that is easily handled. Thanks again for your wonderful support. I wish you could all join me here for a pool party. Have a happy Wednesday.

I was waiting for this thread to start. I had the results later yesterday so I thought I would wait until today to update. All my organs are unremarkable...a.k.a. all is good. This does not give me any answers to the pain, however. The next step is a HIDA scan. I will schedule that today. Dinner was Cousin's subs last night. Again, not sure about tonight. I will probably tell you tomorrow what we had tonight! Seems to be my MO lately. Hope all are feeling better today!

Let me reassure you that if it's your gall bladder that is such a routine surgery and such a quick recovery that you needn't worry. The surgery itself takes 45 minutes. Often times, it's outpatient, too. The Hida scan is easy, too. They'll give you something to activate the gall bladder and that will tell them if there is trouble. If it is your gall bladder you'll get immediate relief when that sucker is out. Good luck and thank you for including us.

I have meatloaf muffins from yesterday and was going to make rolls, but decided to make the new cornbread that I found online after we went out to eat in DC - I also have high-fat butter to use up with it. I bought cabbage from my neighbor farmer for 15 cents and will fry that with some leftover bacon fat I have. Heck, I might as well just pour cream into a glass and cut up slices of lard today

Today is dd#1's 18th birthday ... a milestone here in Alberta because that is the legal drinking age ... I can't believe that I am now the mum to an adult who can legally drink Here is Emma today: We have a meeting at her high school for her Spring Break Europe trip at 6:30pm ... after that we are meeting my bff and her fiance at a pub with Emma so that she can order her first drink ... it's tradition! Dd#2 has riding lessons tonight with Grandma so they will probably pick up fast food on the way home ...

I found a random can of pizza sauce in my pantry so we're having pizza casserole, salads, and garlic bread. Tomorrow, I will find the recipe I originally planned to make when I bought the pizza sauce.

Today is my son's birthday too! He's turning 31. This is probably the day that will stop staying at our house and completely move into his townhouse. Goodbye king-sized bed hello queen!

I wasn't home for dinner last night and left everyone to fend for themselves. I'm not sure what they ate because there is still a lot of food in the fridge. I want it cleared out before cooking anything new, so it is once again a fend for yourself night here. I have my eye on the roasted pork and vegetables.

We are having stew tonight. Carrots, potatoes, cubed beef, onions, peppers, and mushrooms.....there will be sauce of course. This will be cooked in the pressure cooker for our dining pleasure. There will be fruit along side. I am actually looking forward to tonight's supper for once.......Have a Wacky Wednesday everyone.

Today's been a tough day for me, friends. A year ago my dad passed away. I've been doing okay, but this anniversary hit me like a ton of bricks this morning out of nowhere.
DH says we're getting take-out to make it easier on me. Now to decide where.

Last night I made Tyler F's Roast Beef and it was delicious! The left overs will be used for tacos tonight. Yea I know, it is not Tuesday but ds therapy dog Toby has a vet appointment for his last puppy 7:1 series and rabies vaccine at 3:40, so we will be home late. Taco fillings will be prepped after I run an errand so it will make for an easy meal!

Thinking of @nicksmom today. DH and I were at the hospital this morning for his pre-op appointment. He's having spine surgery next week. It's a long time coming, we've been putting it off, but no longer. After his appointment we went to a place in Atlanta (Krog Stree Market) that is a large food court for foodies. I had an excellent middle eastern meal while DH enjoyed BBQ. I know I won't eat much more than a piece of fruit this evening because I have yoga at 6:30. There are plenty of left overs if DH feels like eating later. Congrats to the scrapmaven household. Sorry you are (sort of) celebrating away from your son and I hope you are home soon.

I'm defrosting a tub of chicken stock and leftover chicken, and will make some kind of soup tonight, maybe chicken noodle with cabbage since I want to use up the cabbage. And cheesy toast or something else that's filling to go along with it, because the 7yo is apparently growing. He's been eating nonstop for weeks now. Last time I made chicken soup with lots of filling stuff in it, he was starving again an hour later. @nicksmom, have a peaceful day. Monday was the 10-year anniversary of my dad's passing, and I didn't even realize it until my sister pointed it out.

You have a beautiful daughter, leannec. Dinner today was just pasta and a meat sauce, I think I will go for something simple tomorrow as well. My body don't like being away from home (I wish I could always bring my mattress with me), so it always takes several days before I'm back to normal. My family didn't complain, though, it's one of the few meals all of them like (although that might change without a moment's notice).

Another easy peasy dinner tonight - green salad, tomato soup (canned,) and cheese toast. DH picked up a bag of Halos today so that's dessert.

Dh took out chicken but texted to say it won't be defrosted in time so we'll have pizza or pasta. I told him he could choose.

scrappert, I'm glad they didn't find anything major wrong, but sorry that you're still in pain. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of this quickly. leannec, happy birthday to your daughter. cadoodlebug, happy birthday to your son @nicksmom, I'd say it gets easier with time, but I always hated it when people told me that, so instead I'll just send you lots of really big hugs. I'll be making quinoa with spinach and mushrooms for dinner. DS, who really doesn't like quinoa (texture thing), will have to take a few bites but then can make himself a sandwich.

cadoodlebug and leannec, Happy Birthday to your kids. 18. Woohoo. Your dd is beautiful. @nicksmom, the firsts are the hardest. The first anniversary sucks rocks. Though the second year is easier it's still challenging when those holidays and anniversaries hit. My parents have been gone for many years, but there are still days where it feels like we just got off the phone. Nothing makes it better, but taking good, loving care of yourself while you're grieving helps make you better. ((((HUGS)))). You're still finding a new normal and you will find it. Joy will completely return. On Friday you can toast your dad w/a slice of pizza.

Who knows! After the debacle that was called dinner last night, I'd just rather not cook. Ugh, if only that was the real world. Not gonna happen.
I'm thinking ham and Swiss omelettes and fruit salad.
