Many of you remember Fiona, who thinks my son Matthew is her boy. She's his constant shadow and mothers him and likes to be super judgy to me if she thinks I'm doing it wrong.  Well, now her attentions are divided. Here she is, supervising Tummy Time.  We're fostering this little sweet pea and hoping we get to adopt him. We've been doing "transitional care" slowly getting him used to us over the last 2 weeks and today he almost moved in. He'll still visit the other foster family for transition away from them, but now this is his "base." It's been a whirlwind and we weren't even signed up to be foster parents, but God orchestrated a crazy set of events and here we are. We lost a baby in October when a birth mom changed her mind and decided to parent when it came time to leave the hospital, so that made it easier to entertain fostering even knowing there's a chance his case might not end in adoption, but right now we're loving him like he's ours and trusting that God knows all our futures. Wishing you all the best as you foster this child. I understand the disappointment & the emotions from previous experience.
I have also had a failed adoption, where the birth mother changed her mind prior to leaving the hospital. A nurse who was unaware of the situation insisted on 'bonding' the mom with her baby.

Sweet pictures! I'm really sorry to hear that the other adoption didn't work out, I wasn't aware of that until now. I really hope this works out for you all. I can imagine that Matthew would be so excited to be a big brother!
