I went to the hairdresser today and she said "Oh, you have tons of hair! It's fine, but you have lots and lots of it." My mother remarked one night five years ago or so that, "You have a bald spot on your scalp". My mom could be blunt at times. Anyway I am glad to know my hair is finally in good shape based on her assessment of how much I have. Yay!

Boy do I understand the hair thing. Mine has been thinning for years and nothing I did seemed to make it better. My mom was pretty brutal in trying to get me to do something, anything, to make it thicker. I finally started taking a new vitamin, in addition to my other supplements, and she told me last week that it looked a lot thicker now.
Something good - I recently sold a computer to a friend with the caveat that she couldn't pay for at least 30 days, until she was sure she loved it and I was sure it would work for her. She came over today to bring me the check and told me she is absolutely in love with it. She had never used a Mac before and wasn't sure she would like it, but she would have kept it regardless. Now we both know it was the right machine for her. It felt really good to know I'd helped a friend out and converted someone to the Mac way of life. LOL

Yesterday I was released from 24/7 bedrest. Yippee! Except after 3 months of only walking 15 feet to the toidy and back my energy and muscular ability are so depleted I tire after being up for only a few minutes. But I can be up as much as I'm able.

Yesterday, my husband posted one those "tag your best friend for best friends day" things on Facebook, and tagged me. I already knew I was his best friend but it was really nice to see that. It just really made me feel good inside.

I did not have to cook dinner last night! Sometimes it's the little things that can make you happy.

I have a spot in a clinical trial pending review of my test results. Spent the last two days being poked, prodded, bled, scanned, and irradiated for the preliminary part of the study. Trial starts 17 April.

I got AWESOME VIP concert tix to my favorite band, Counting Crows, and Matchbox 20 for September! Seats front row and center, get to go to soundcheck, meet and greet, etc. I am very happy. I turn the big 5-0 in September and I cannot think of a better way to celebrate that big birthday! So yeah, yesterday was a very nice day.

Monday my physical therapist let me run. I haven't been able to run in 2 months so I was excited to get the thumbs up. I only ran in 15 second intervals but it was nice to have both feet off the ground.

Along the hair line....
2 weeks ago I was at a conference out of state and a gal walked up to me and said.
"kellybelly?"
I turned around and recognized her from the last years conference. We had talked for quite awhile at dinner one night and exchanged cards and kept in contact via email.
Then she said, "I knew it had to be you without even seeing your face because I recognized your gorgeous hair!".
It was so nice!

We've been having a special focus on spiritual growth at church the last 11 days. My husband actually shared to the congregation and said lovely things about me but also how he's called to do better by me as a leader. After he shared, other couples prayed over us and their kind words touched my heart so much I think I cried a cup full of tears. Their words were so full of love and encouragement. I have shared here about my physical struggles with RA and I needed that this week.

Last weekend we were visiting my mom in my hometown and DH and I had the opportunity to spend a few hours antiquing - just the two of us. Our 2nd wedding anniversary was the week prior and we had been out to dinner but it is very rare that we have time without the kids to do something like that on a weekend. I really enjoyed the time with him and picked up a couple of cute necklaces as well.
Yesterday a good friend texted out of the blue and said she would be at the high school yesterday afternoon dropping off a bag for her daughter (who has swim practice right after school) and since she would be there anyway, would it help me out if she picked up our oldest DD and dropped her off at home. It helped me TREMENDOUSLY and gave me an extra hour (with drive time) of free time between getting off work and running afternoon carpool for the middle schoolers. I went to Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby and actually got to look around and not rush.

My corporate office recommended me to a huge team leader to help her train her team. Said told the other team leader she was recommending be because " She only competes with herself and doesn't do it for titles or recognition. She's had off years, but she beats herself up for a minute, gets over it and turns it into motivation and has never bought a trip or position because she knows she's better than that. She's got a good head on her shoulders and if your girls spend a weekend with her and don't leave inspired there really probably isn't much hope for them."
I didn't even know she knew my name, so I'm pretty freaking jazzed.

My family came to watch me and my dd at our dog show this past weekend. They were really supportive and had a great time with us. It was really nice to have them there. And we had a great show. Me and my dog got our first title in Rally Obedience. My dd and her German Shepherd Dog got their first Obedience title. And my dd put the first conformation point on my Samoyed. The show staff was awesome too

Got some recognition in the weekly staff meeting for completing my first trimester goals of the year a month early. My supervisor is hard to impress so it was very unexpected, he wasn't very enthusiastic in our one on one meeting yesterday.

My hairdresser told me last week my hair is looking great again - 2 lots of cancer in 6 years had taken their toll!
The very best thing was becoming a grandma last October though ☺ I was worried because my son and his girlfriend are so young ( 21 and 20) but they have coped so well . My son has matured ,and we are so much closer now- he's so bloody nice and I'm so proud of them both ( and loving my glorious funny grandson!)

I just spent 6 days on vacation in Florida with my adult son. He lives in NYC and I'm in Seattle, so it's always super special and nice to get time with him! Particularly when it's not IN NYC or Seattle, so we have no other commitments!

My DH went back to work this week. We barely survived the winter with him laid off so I am eternally grateful he went back to work this week. In celebration I bought myself a new skirt. I seriously haven't spent any money on myself in almost six months. I wore that skirt yesterday and everyone complimented me. It was so nice.

One of my 'babies' in the mini-kindergarten group where I work has been having a really hard time in the past few weeks coping with his mum leaving. Yesterday not only did he settle after about 5 minutes, then play happily and eat his snack, mum brought me a lovely bunch of tulips to thank me for my patience with him in the past few weeks.

My friend asked Iast minute if I could meet her for dinner before Bible study Monday night. "As soon as possible." My thoughts waffled between "she's going to tell me something I don't want to hear" and "she is having a crisis" until I finally was like just wait to see what happens when we get there. It turns out she just wanted to go to dinner together! We have been trying to make this happen and she had to keep cancelling last minute. That day she found out last minute she was free and was trying to jump on it. The "soon as possible" thing was because she couldn't be late for study.

I had an unexpected invitation to breakfast from my son. I've posted before that he had pulled quite far away from me for a number of years. He has been calling and stopping by one in a while, and yesterday he called to say he was in the area, could I join him for breakfast. It was nice. He is in a good place with his relationship and his job, and I would love for us to get back to a good relationship too. Time will tell.

A friend contacted me that there is a position in his company. I interviewed and have a pretty good shot. My company is under restructure, so this is perfect timing.

My brother, who lives about 600 miles from me, fell down his steps and broke his neck and fractured his skull. At one point, we were warned of possible brain damage and/or paralyzation--neither of which happened. He spent about six weeks in a hospital/rehab and last week I went and spent about a week with him after he came home and was just so amazed by his recovery. It was wonderful enough to spend time with him, but every moment also felt a bit like a miracle because he's doing so great.
