I am going to post the BASH IT KIT later this month sort of like an add on to this one to spruce things up in the middle, so stay tuned for that one! Here are your guidelines for this month. Remember you can substitute 1-2 items as you see fit and it is all about how YOU interpret this! Have fun with it, step out of your comfort zone but also make it work for you! 5-10 pieces of Cardstock-at least TWO must be colored aka NOT white/cream/gray/black 5-10 pieces of Patterned paper:- Floral -for spring
- Something brown toned to represent the MUD we see in the USA this time of year
- Polka dots-any size
- Something that makes you think of CLOUDS (actual clouds, sky, blue, white, blue/white ombre/watercolor etc)
- Small icon/shape repeating pattern not listed above (stars, small arrows, open circles, triangles, hearts etc)
- 4 or more of your own choice
Ribbon or if you are like me WASHI get it out and on those pages
Something CIRCULAR- punches, die cuts, stamps etc as long as it is a CIRCLE or makes CIRCLES you are good
COLORED ink- pens/markers/ink for stamping, water colors etc
Something FLAT, no dimension at all
Sequins or small gems/bling
Borders- something to make them, pre made, stickers etc, pattern paper border strips etc
Free item of your choice
I hope to see some good things in these kits! Let's get to using things and making creations! Please play in the awesome challenges here! Be on the lookout for the bash it mid month along with some other little things along the way if life doesn't swallow me whole this month lol!

I've pulled my kit. Like last month, this was a lot of fun. First, my cardstock. I went with all colors and no neutrals. The green is a bit dark but I don't have any grass green colors. They were all way too bright. I think it will be a good option for certain photos though. Plus, it's textured! Next up are my patterned papers. I stuck with one brand this time. When I read the list Bella Blvd was all I could think about. I pulled their Sweet Sweet Spring line and started with that. I branched out to four additional lines. Floral - Her Bunny Hop (B side) - Sweet Sweet Spring Brown - GPS - Sand & Surf Dots - Bloomin' Beauties (B side) - Sweet Sweet Spring Clouds - Easy Breezy - Sweet Sweet Spring Repeating Icon (carrots - a challenge!) - His Bunny Hop (B side) - Sweet Sweet Spring Four Additional Patterns (here's where I hop in the way back machine) - Just Because... (B side) - Hello Beautiful!, Turner Hall Ballroom - Love and Marriage, Forget-Me-Nots - Plastino, and Bermudas - Plastino Finally, my embellishments. Washi - three colors by Bella Blvd Something Circular - My circle punches. They need more love Colored Ink - My pens. I may add some Glimmer Mist though. I have a ton of colors I need to use. Something Flat - Sticker sheet from Bella Blvd Sweet Sweet Spring Gems - random sets pulled from my drawer of bling Borders - Two border punches that need even more love than my circle punches Free Item - I can't count so I pulled two - both things I have a ton of and need to use - Stickles/Distress Stickles in Star Dust and Spun Sugar and Baker's Twine in hot pink, lightish orange, and kraft. I'm off to get dressed and start scrapping! I hope to get at least three layouts done today. Maybe more!

My first layout is done! I used the one page April sketch that was posted. From my kit I used circle punches, blue cardstock, yellow cardstock, flat stickers, plaid paper, polka dot paper, washi, both kinds of Stickles, a blue pen to journal, and yellow baker's twine.

Thanks, crystalb! I'd like to ask opinions on that Bloom, Dear One layout. It bothers me. I'm thinking about trimming a bit off the edges and matting it...maybe on the yellow. I don't know. I think because it's such an open plaid on white, it feels like it's too open. It needs a border. What do y'all think?

lilacgal, I love your LO - the feather in there is a really nice touch. I can see what you mean about it needing a frame of some kind (though I wouldn't have thought of it until you pointed it out!). A mat would work, as you suggested - or even just die-cut corners à la thiscould work to "contain" the LO.

lilacgal I often find layouts look better with a full size border when I think they feel a little bit too open.

Instead of all the bother of cutting and matting, you could add a border with some washi tape for the same kind of effect

lilacgal maybe instead of a border, do a diagonal ink/mists to fill up some space? I have made TWO kits from this formula, I just need to photo. One is VERY spring and the other is boy geared for a stack of baby photos I discovered for DS with his great great grandma. I am excited to use it!

Here are my kits. Sorry for the quality, I am too lazy to take everything outside today to photo it. One is very springy (I have about 30 pictures to scrap from a huge Egg Scramble last year) and the other is for that stack of photos I found of DS with this great grandma. My circular in the spring kit are several punches but they didn't fully make the collage. I also pulled out some border punches that I still use and love but haven't recently. I hope to have fun with the mermaid markers and of course love my trusty staedtler pens! I can't wait to see what y'all put together.

So I started to put together my kit including some new stuff from the last month and got overwhelmed so I am working on making a kit for my next 4 layouts or so and trying to ignore the rest and putting it in an iris container to look at after I do these layouts. Looking at it all isn't doing me any good at all. Keeping a few things from last months Bash challenge since I didn't use them but adding in a few new items as well. I have been overthinking a layout I wanted to do last month and still looking for some paper for it but not finding the perfect paper but think I am going to just go for it with some I pulled last month. I have been really enjoying the challenges on the board the last couple of months and hope it will spark some creativity for me - I am really enjoying seeing everyone's creations. I am hoping to figure it out and post my kit soon and then a layout or two soon after that. Thanks for the challenges.

I have been working on this for a while - pulled out some extra floral papers that I don't think I need. I read it wrong the first time and was thinking it said only 1-2 sheets of neutral vs the other way around and was going to throw in what I have here plus a cardstock tablet but pulled it. My neutral cardstock, circle dies/punches and inks are not shown. I pulled some pretty blue and green cardstock which I just realized got cut off. I kept a few pieces of really old paper - Junkitz and some unknown hiking paper (both brown and muddy), old Prima letter stickers. I think the paper tablet has all the requirements and then some and of course I added some other papers as well. I have gold sequins and some blue nuvo drops (just got them and want to try them out), I included several washi tapes and two border punches. I did include some sparkle markers that I think will work - actually think I will use a few from another set as well. For flat items I included some new dies - Koi, garden things, palm leaves and some new stamps - both alpha and sayings.

Scrapper100, that looks like a fun kit to scrap some beach/summer/vacation photos! Have fun! Chinagirl828 I struggled too, with the floral and brown but once I got those down it was easy peasy from there. I hope you find your groove soon!

Happy April. I hope y'all are getting lots done with your build your own kits. I was going to wait until mid month to add this but next week is spring break and I am sure I will be busy. How about a fun sketch to get the creative juices flowing?

I am currently obsessed with watching Kristie Marcotte's you tube channel. I believe may use your kit idea and sketch to make some Easter cards.

I will put something together to take with me to the crop the weekend of the 21st. Have the list and the sketch printed and stacked with the supplies I will be packing after Easter. (Already have some kits complete with photos, put together from my last gasp at Calvinball, so this will be an auxhiliary kit.

dasmith2 I love all the yellow in your kit. I actually pulled the same jillibean stickers you have (but in grey) for my kit this month.

I finally built my kit using both this and the bash it kit list to pull together my supplies. My cardstock is not shown but since I pretty much only use white, black, or grey I pulled in two sheets of solid blue paper to use as a replacement item.
