Another option is to have someone purchase a Costco gift card for you. Even though you are not a member, you are welcome to go, shop, redeem it and won't have any problems.
I asked them about this about a month ago and specifically said, "So if my sister isn't a member, but I keep buying her Costco cards, she can shop here?" They said. "Yes."

Ok so we went. Tried to just walk in like we've been there a hundred times but we got carded had to go to the service desk to get a "browser pass", they wrote down my name, address and phone number (I assume for future marketing purposes) and sent us on our way. Anyhow, we were pleased with their selections and bought a membership.

Freaking Costco. It's just DH and I, but we joined last year when we bought our adjustable bed. I also cook in bulk, so we do buy most of our meat and cheese at Costco. They have my number though. It's like their market researchers live in my head. Even DH, who is not a shopper at all, will go and come home and be like "Yeah, I got this zip up hoodie, it just looked like something I'd been thinking I wanted." How do they know what I want before I even know? I am immune to Target - I can easily go in and buy only what I was planning. Costco though, things that weren't on the list ALWAYS end up in that giant cart. Their meat prices & quality alone are worth the membership cost for us. We were able to get a trial pass to walk around the store, no problem. Lol. I tell people I channel Costco. I wish for something and it will appear in their store I've had skyn Iceland hydro firming ice gels in my amazon wait list for about a month. I saw them on the website last night. Not exactly a high volume item. Ive done this with other many other items too. So...if anyone wants Costco to carry something - let me know. I'll send signals to their buyers😬

Off topic, but how can you hate select-a-size?? I usually only need the smallest one, so the regular size sheet seems like a waste, and if you do need more, you can grab a few...what's not to love???

Also, anyone can walk into Costco to go to the food court.

Noooo! Don't listen to her!! I had to wait years for them to finally switch to Select-a-Size. ha ha Hush! You can ask for your own Costco bat signal, but leave mine alone! I really, really hate the Select-a-Size. Off topic, but how can you hate select-a-size?? I'm old and I hate change? Besides both of those being true, I just prefer the full size. With a house full of pets and messy people, it's just easier.

Enjoy shopping at Costco! I love it there. Everything is always so clean and tidy and organized. One of the things I've noticed is that sometimes when things are there for a while and then disappear, they later reappear rebranded under the Kirkland Signature brand, and usually at a better value than before. I've noticed that has happened several times with things we buy (the coffee, grapefruit cups, some of their candy and nuts all come to mind).

I know, and I'm not thrilled with that. Between all of our credit/debit cards not a single one is Visa, wth. Hopefully I still remember how to write a check They'll take any debit card. Doesn't have to be a Visa. I was actually kind of wondering if they do still take checks. I haven't written one in years. They absolutely still take checks. I often will pay by check and the best part is all you have to do is sign it and their registers print all the other info. I probably do not pay by check as much now that they have changed to visa. When they were only taking Amex and I couldn't find my debit card ( which I am sad to say is often) I paid by check all the time.

I think they are much better than the the Bounty, but they are also the select-a-size. I was happy when the Kirkland paper towels finally converted to that because I often tore my paper towels in half when I didn't need a full sheet.

regarding their offer the refund you the remaining amount if you don't get 55 bucks in cash back, we just dealt with this this weekend.
they will refund you the remaining amount IF you downgrade to the regular membership. they will NOT do it if you want to keep the executive membership. Not what i was told when they were trying to SELL ME the executive membership.
YMMV but that was our experience.

Carried the name brand, then replaced it with Kirkland. The problem is that Lactaid is the only brand that doesn't have a weird aftertaste/leave a film. If they had had Lactaid make their milk, I would have been fine with it, but since they didn't, I have to get it at the grocery store for a heart-stopping price!

I'm surprised that it's not from the same manufacturer. The things we've continued to buy like the grapefruit cups, their brand of Greek yogurt, the coffee, freeze dried packaged fruit among other things are all made by the same companies as before, it's just that now they're private labeled for Costco. Other than the name on the outside, all of the packaging is identical right down to the size and shape of the cups, etc. and the product inside is identical to what we got before. The only other difference is sometimes the quantity, like the grapefruit cups maybe used to come in a box of eight cups and now now that it's private labeled there are 12 per box. That kind of thing.

But this was definitely not Lactaid milk!

No Planters nuts at Costco. We buy the Cabot's XSharp at Sam's, even store brand hunk cheese is better at Sam's than Costco to us. Our Costco carries Cabot. I go to Costco at least once a week. It has incredible organic produce and meats. My one year old eats three large containers of organic blueberries a week. And my other two eat a ton of produce too. Plus dh and I eat Paleo and I can get good quality organic meats, fruit, and veggies affordably.

My Costco's also carries Cabot Cheese but not a lot of variety maybe only the extra sharp or the seriously sharp? I am a Cabot girl for sure...Cabot cheese, Cabot sour cream, and Cabot butter. But then again I am in Vermont and they are local to us, maybe all do not? They don't sell Planters nuts but their Kirkland brand ones are excellent, we get the Cashews and Mix Nuts often. They also do sell big cans of peanuts that I think are of a good quality.

Be prepared if you're buying stuff, you can only use cash, check, debit card, or any Visa card (doesn't have to be Costco's) to pay. No other credit cards are accepted. I know, and I'm not thrilled with that. Between all of our credit/debit cards not a single one is Visa, wth. Hopefully I still remember how to write a check Move to Canada they only take MasterCard
