Today I am dying eggs with the kids in the morning. I had the foresight to hard boil them last night so that they are cool this morning. I love breaking out the white Crayola crayons and letting them go at it.
I still need to fill the plastic eggs for hiding.
I still need to finish buying Easter candy for the baskets. Eek!
I have to work Easter morning, but should be home by dinnertime. Kids will find the eggs while I'm at work, and get to enjoy their baskets, then I will get to chill with them and hopefully they'll be in the picture taking mood.
Tell me about your plans? Anyone excited?

I'm a young grandma and sometimes don't feel very grandma-y, but I make up for it on the holidays. I love making a big dinner and having the house full all day. Each person has one thing that is their favorite for dinner. I even bought the lamb shaped butter at Kroger last night. My 18 yo DS was like "seriously?!"
I need to grab Starbucks gift cards for the adult baskets then assemble everything tonight. For my grandsons I will make a big production and wrap it in cellophane and put a giant bow on it. Then duck because the 5yo got a giant pack of Nerf bullets and a new Nerf "arrow-bow," his current obsession.
I think the kids are coming over to do Easter eggs tonight. We ran out of time last time we were together. I'd almost be fine skipping it but it's DD2's favorite.

No plans. Typical Sunday: Church in A.M. Dinner alone in the evening. May spend the in-between time cleaning up my scrap room, or pulling weeds, depending on the weather.

My kids are much older (teenagers and early 20's), but I still give them Easter Baskets. On Sunday my MIL is joining us for dinner, but nobody else will be home since DS#2 graduates from HS in May and all the family will come home then.

I saw three of my four boys yesterday as one made a quick overnight trip to visit (one of the sons in the Navy). I gave them all a little galvanized Easter-theme bucket from Target's dollar spot filled with a really small chocolate bunny and some candies --- the son that was visiting will take the last one back to his brother in the Navy who's currently out on his ship right now. Easter done!

Easter is a holiday that used to be big at my house but now almost doesn't get celebrated at all. DS2 is working and DS1 has an activity with friends. This is the first year I am not doing baskets - they want them but I decided instead to do a big nest on the table and let people snork off it as they choose. Caveat: I may change my mind Sat evening and pull the baskets out of the closet.
No one in my family goes to church. DH and I have our 29th anniversary on Easter so we are going out for seafood.
Last year I went to my mom's to celebrate with her, and left baskets for the fam, but because Easter is so late this year I visited her in March.
Hope everyone enjoys the day if you can whatever you are doing!

apparently I'm winging it this year...
I need to boil eggs today as DD10 still wants to colour eggs.
I need to figure out what we're having for Easter dinner before I go grocery shopping this afternoon.
I need to find the Easter decorations so DD10 can decorate.
I need to buy Easter candy.
I need to find the 'safe' place I put the Easter goodies my mum sent for the girls....
I need to figure out what we're wearing to Church on Sunday.
I need to buy a dress for DD16 (pray for me....neither of us like shopping, she's picky, and hard to fit)

This year we may try something different seeing no one really cares what we do. We are going to take a ride to the White Elephant Trunk Flea Market in New Milford, CT. I have never been but from what I've seen on tv and online it's huge. The cool thing is that there are like 20 food trucks so people can have whatever they want for lunch. I won't have to cook and it will be something different to do.
I do miss my family doing things all together (siblings with kids/spouses). People either hate cooking or don't want to clean to have company. I would invite people but still haven't replaced my oven not to mention the cost because only one sibling ever brings stuff.

I need to assemble DD's basket, transfer a little Easter cash to my oldest DD's bank account for her to go do something fun. I also want to put together a small basket to take to a friend who is battling cancer and feels alone most of the time. I think on Sunday we will also take a small plant we bought for my MIL to her at the retirement home. It's something she can keep in her room.

My least favorite holiday. I think it's because I don't like pastel colors.
But I did make baskets, bought a small ham and asparagus and carrots. I think we will go see a movie.

I love Easter! My DS and his GF are going to the beach in a few weeks so I put new beach towels, sunscreen, Frisbees, etc... in their baskets along with one Godiva chocolate rabbit.
In DH's basket is tons of candy! He loves his candy and never gains a pound. I hate him for that.
I will be having 12 people for lunch. We are having Ham, potato salad, macaroni salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, broccoli with cheese sauce, pound cake and strawberries, dreamsicle pie and rolls! And punch!! We always have lime punch at Easter.

My Easter plans are to have a busy, busy weekend. It started last night with a beautiful Maundy Thursday service. It continues this morning with a children's stations of the cross (narrated by my teen) then a Good Friday service. Tomorrow, I will be making Baptism banners for kids being baptized this weekend, shop for Easter basket goodies, shop for a dessert to bring to the Easter celebration at church, and possibly get an Easter dress. That night, we'll attend the Easter Vigil - my favorite service of the year. We normally skip Sunday service after the long vigil on Easter Eve, but this year, Alison is playing handbells at both services, so we'll get 3 Easter services in 12 hours. We're picking a restaurant for lunch since I don't know when I could possibly cook. Sunday afternoon - and this is certain to be the highlight - I need to do my taxes.

We will be hosting, as usual, but it will be a small group. My daughter and her family and one of my cousins will be there.
We colored eggs with our grandson's a couple of weekends ago, so that's done.
We grocery shopped last night, so that's done.
Today we have to go to World Market to pick up some "exotic" candy for my oldest grandson. He loves that place.
Tomorrow I'll be preparing everything I can ahead of time. On Sunday I want to be able to kind of relax and enjoy our visitors and have a small egg hunt for my 2 year old grandson.

We are celebrating Saturday as my 2 nieces and their families are coming to visit. There will be about 20 of us with 7 kids to hunt eggs. DH is BBqing chicken and a small pig with baked beans cooked on grill, potato salad, fruit salad, green bean salad, potato casserole, stuffed eggs, Rice Krispie treat cake (Pinterest), coconut pie and Easter candy. I have filled 103 plastic eggs with $$ coins and bills and some candy 2 of the eggs had candy from last year still in them. The weather will be sunny and warm. Sunday after church, we will be eating leftovers.
I am picking two of our older DGS up from school and they we will dye eggs this afternoon. I boiled them in InstaPot before work today.

In past years we had a huge Easter brunch with multiple families and included grandparents aunts uncles and cousins. We would have an egg hunt for all the kids in the backyard and just have a great day all around. Last year and this year instead we are spending Easter at the beach. Last year we decided our new tradition would be to get crabs so I'm guessing we will do the same thing this Sunday.

DD11 has the day off from school (teacher professional development), so I took the day off from work. We're going to peruse some egg dying ideas from pinterest and get the necessary supplies and dye them tomorrow. Today we'll go get pedicures and then this evening she has her usual Friday night circus classes. Tomorrow we'll dye eggs, hang out and go to Easter Vigil at our church. Sunday we're going with our good friend to the Twins game.

Easter is not a holiday for us. I have to check into the hospital on Monday so DH and I are driving to Dallas Sunday afternoon. My children will probably order pizza and play a lot of video games.

Easter is my favorite holiday.
We've spent the last few Easter weekends at the lake with friends and family. I didn't think my son would be coming this year because he lives so far away, but he is coming to surprise me. (SIL blew the surprise). I'll have to act surprised though because hubby & son don't know I know.
We'll all go to church together Sunday morning which is my favorite service of the year. I always tear up when we sing "Christ the Lord is Risen Today."
We'll come home and eat a huge meal (mostly made by my hubby) and then I'll have Easter baskets stuffed full of goodies. Everyone has to take their turn showing everyone else what the Easter bunny brought them. Everyone thinks it is stupid and corny, but they love it!

I'm happy to report that I'm doing NOTHING this year! Well, not exactly nothing, what I mean is in terms of preparation or responsibility for anything. I am sitting in a pew for all three services (yesterday, this evening, and Sunday morning) for the first time in forever. Forever! I am not doing one reading, not carrying one banner, not serving communion to one person. Nothing! omg. Don't get me wrong, I love my church, and I love being involved in a church. But I am also happy for once not to be involved in leading worship. And both kids already had their spring break and are back at school so it's just me and dh. The smallest ham I could buy would probably feed 10 people and although I do love ham I really don't want that much leftover! So I just asked dh "how about ribs for Easter dinner instead of a ham?" His eyes lit up and he said "okay!" lololol He LOVES my Instant Pot ribs and says that alone was worth the price of the pot. So I'll go to Costco tomorrow morning when they first open to get the ribs, then drop them off at the house and go to the grocery store to get cole slaw mix which is what dh requested. It's not much trouble to make potato salad in the IP but making cole slaw from a mix is even easier. lol

We've had Stations of the Cross set up all week. I went yesterday.
Church today and Sunday. Dinner Sunday with the family.
That's it.

On Easter we'll wake up and the kids will open their presents.
They will have wrapped presents and then a basket full of things. We don't do much candy.
They'll look all over the house for Easter Bunny poop (aka jelly beans). This is their favorite part.
Then they'll run to the back door where empty buckets will be lined up for them to go in the backyard and find the eggs. Eggs are filled with Lego, money, and toy soldiers and ninjas.
Then we'll get dressed and go to my sister's house where my dad and siblings and all my nieces and nephews will be. We'll have a catered lunch of fajitas and enchiladas, quesadillas, queso, guacamole, salsa, chips, and tortillas. The kids will go out in the backyard and have a giant egg hunt. Eggs are filed with small toys like shopkins, micro machines, hot wheels, and money (again, no candy). After the hunt the kids open the eggs and haggle over trading their toy finds.
We'll come home late in the day and play new games from the kids' Easter baskets.

It is just DH and I these days, and we're not doing much this year. We are currently on vacation and will get home late Saturday afternoon, hopefully with enough time to shop for a few things before everything closes until Tuesday. I have lamb already for Sunday lunch as is our Easter tradition and I plan to buy some sort of traditional cake/pastry before we leave Dresden in the morning. We'll attend the Easter Vigil service, but didn't sign up for anything this year, just in case we don't make it. I sent my boys Easter packages a week or 2 back - they probably won't arrive in time, but chocolate is always welcome, even a few days late.

The only real tradition we have is hiding plastic eggs the night before for the kids to find in the morning. There will be some kind of "basket" - it's really just some container, I can find to throw a chocolate bunny in and some other candy. My husband requested prime rib - I mentioned the traditional ham, but as no one likes ham and everyone loves prime rib, I folded pretty quickly. Thinking of you compwalla - I hope you find a new trial or treatment and things go smoothly!

DS17 is with his Papa and Nana until Wednesday so we had his Easter Thursday past. Not a huge deal, just some candy, a big chocolate bunny, and some assorted electronic cords he always seems to need.
I anticipated being home for the weekend. But in talking with my adopt-a-mom, she is doing a luncheon buffet and egg hunt for the littles (dgs 14, 4, dgd 11, 5) so I'll take the goodies for the kids over and enjoy family.

No real plans. Got invited out to dinner last night (Good Friday) at some friends but the rest of the weekend will be pretty relaxed. It's a 4 day holiday in New Zealand and I plan to do lots of crafting. Also church on Sunday and Skype with a friend in Texas.
I'm just going out shopping for some new earrings as I managed to lose one last week. So annoying because it was one of my favourite pairs!

No idea. I guess I should call my mom. My kids don't care about dying eggs or hunting for them. I'm not filling baskets. They will get it in a bag. We aren't religious and Good Friday isn't a holiday here so it was work and school as usual today. All I know is we'll be eating ham at some point.

We are going to spend Saturday and Sunday at my daughter's house tearing down her old patio cover so a new one can be built. While my husband and daughter do that I'm going to cook a big bunch of barbecued ribs, beans and coleslaw and my favorite sourdough baguettes.
