Last night we had Chinese takeout. So, tonight I will make the risotto that I had planned for last night.
In honor of @nicksmom's pizza Fridays tell us what you order on your pizza when you order pizza?
When I used to indulge my fave was Canadian bacon and pineapple. Dh and the boys usually order boring old pepperoni. Then again, California Pizza Kitchen used to have a BLT pizza that sounds weird and is weird, but oh so delicious.
What's on your menu?
Have a great Friday and a really fun and relaxing weekend.

Good Friday means no meat for us, so it will be either vegetarian or fish, depending on what the restaurant is offering. Quite possible we will head back to the same restaurant in the hotel as last night - the food was excellent, and there were many yummy sounding menu choices we didn't have.
It has been a day of much walking today - 2 hour guided tour of the old city, with an absolutely fabulous guide. She studied medieval Sachsen history at Dresden Uni, so I guess it's no surprise she knew her stuff! Dresden is a truly amazing city - so much was destroyed in a huge bombing raid right at the end of WWII, but it has been faithfully restored since then, some even during the Soviet era, as they wanted to portray Dresden as an example. One church they even numbered the stone blocks as they demolished what was left of it, so they could use those pieces again when rebuilding. There is one building that is classic Soviet era architecture in the middle of the old town, and our guide said that at first, people wanted to tear it down after reunification, but in the end it stayed as 'it's a part of our history too'

We are going to a hotel tonight with a water park. A pizza is included with the deal, so that is what we will have.
I love a good Hawaiian pizza! But I always go for sausage. I am pretty plain, just sausage. SO likes pepperoni, onions and mushrooms. Daughter likes pepperoni but she will eat the onions and mushrooms.

I'm not sure, we have the chiropractor right after work, and then I need to get DH a bday card. We will probably pick up something quick before we come home to pack to head up to DS' university tomorrow.
(Last night we had McDonald's, not the delightful Gorton's fish I had planned)
As for pizza, the more the merrier in my opinion! What that is depends on mood, but I do not like plain pepperoni pizza!

sueg, have you ever read the book, Slaughterhouse Five? Kurt Vonnegut wrote this book about his experiences during the bombings in Dresdin. It's really well written and at times quite intense. Your trip sounds very interesting.

It's my dh's birthday, so we're going out with our younger dd and her fiancé for steak. I'm baking a cake at the moment... he'd originally said he didn't want a cake, so we decided on ice cream sundaes. Then changed his mind at the last minute. If he'd wanted one in the first place, my dd could have made him a really nice one! Now he has to settle for one of mine. As for pizza, I love one with meats and vegetables. Supreme, the works, whatever you want to call it, but no pineapple!

Dh and I are out for the day. We had breakfast out (my pumpkin pancake was delicious!) Dinner will be leftover pizza from yesterday. Silly dh ordered two large pizzas! One pepperoni and one green pepper. I'm not picky at all and enjoyed a slice of each. If I was ordering just for myself I'd get all of the veggies.

Your trip sounds very interesting. I haven't read that - I'll look into it when I get home. We have had a lovey trip - just a couple of days in each of 3 cities, all of which were in the DDR. Leipzig surprised me, Potsdam was mainly for the old Royal Palace, but had other interesting details, and Dresden is just as wonderful as I expected.

Dinner tonight is creamy chicken soup, salad, and rolls. I sure hope that serving soup two nights in a row is grounds for dismissal. sueg, I'm glad you're enjoying your trip! It sounds fabulous.

My kiddos are all going to be home this weekend and DD requested asparagus for dinner. "Oh and those chicken pocket things" So we are having chicken pockets, asparagus and twice baked potatoes.

Since it's pizza night, we're having pizza. What else would you have on pizza night?
We love to get lots of toppings - pepperoni, bacon, ham, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, olives and I even like banana peppers. The rest of the family picks the banana peppers off. That's okay, I pick the olives off! And lots of cheese. Extra cheese on top of extra cheese.

It's the last Fish Fry Friday and we are passing since the last two weeks the only good thing about the food was someone else cooked it. The fish seemed like it was cooked the day before and warmed up, not a good taste at all. So tonight we need to go to the town 30 miles over and look at some sort of tool that if we had one the other part of we would not have smashed his finger to the point of bleeding yesterday. So we will be dining on either KFC or Arbys. I don't care which one as long as they do not expect me to either cook or clean up after.....LOL

I guess we are going out!! DH's friend is coming into town today and they are going to work on DH's airplane this afternoon and tomorrow. His friend lives pretty remote so when he comes to town he loves to eat out. Works for me, no fuss no muss!!
If I were going to have pizza I really love the Herb Chicken Mediterranean on thin crust from Papa Murphys. It is so good!!!
Happy Friday!

I'm thinking of a black olive and tuna pasta, I copied a recipe from somewhere and will try that. BF will have to find something else, as he won't eat fish.

Pork chops, broccoli, potato cakes.
But I'd really like a spinach, olive, artichoke, and onion pizza. Dh loves Italian sausage. Dd is cheese only.
Thank you for the thread and for asking about pizza. It really is a favorite food for so many.

I'm home alone (ahhhh, so nice!) And have several left over/convenience foods I can chose from.
Thr perfect pizza for me is Brooklyn style thin crust, red sauce, salami, pepperoni, oniin, mushroom, spinach, olive, with extra cheese.

We've already started on our Easter food - we had fried ham, potato salad, deviled eggs and Hawaiian rolls.
As far as pizza, DH wants THE WORKS on his and I want pepperoni with green peppers. When we made our own, we use tomato slices, bacon, pepperoni, green peppers, jalapenos and lotsa cheese.

As far as pizza night goes it will be moved to Tuesday when Passover ends. And I won't care what's on it at that point as long as it breast and risen and fluffy

I love a good Margherita pizza because I love a very fresh taste. If not that, load it up with veggies for me. Dh wants as much meat as possible on his pizza, so we usually get two. As I'm sure you all know, Tuesday was Librarian Appreciation Day and I know you all celebrated in your own special way! I had a parent give me a very generous gift card to a wonderful BBQ place and I just picked up dinner from there. Brisket and sides for DH and a salad with smoked turkey for me. Can't wait. Trixie Bender , I think "grounds for dismissal" is wishful thinking on your part. If you are let go, where is dinner coming from? sueg , I've been enjoying dinner and a travelouge with your trips. Thanks.

I had to make a Costco run today, so came home with sushi for dinner. Yes, our Costco makes wonderful sushi. I also have a bit of Korean short ribs and corn of the cob that I might grill and serve along with a green salad. ETA Hawaiian and Marguerita Pizzas are the favorites in our house. When the kids were little, for years, we had pizza & a movie night every Friday. In the last few years rarely have pizza anymore and I'm not sure what happened.

So I am sitting here with a candidate for the Worlds Largest Cat curled up next to me, snoring so loudly I can't hardly hear the tv, squinting at the computer hoping that I am spelling at least at a third grade level and waiting for a boy to come home from his frivolity full college...dinner? Ummm..No. Wanna know why? Because I got my eyes checked today. And dilated. And for the first time in a billion years the ophthalmologist kept calling me on squinty eyed cheating. And quit using the same lines of letters so I couldn't memorize them. I know, I know, you aren't supposed to do that, but Lord, when they use the same series over and over again, how can you not?? But this woman? She was the bestest ever. She specializes in the weird eye thing I have and works a lot with kids so after the first squint, she had my number and ... huh. Boy my eye sight stinks. Far vision? Bad. Near vision? Bad. Intermediate? Just as bad. I knew something radically shifted recently but damn. It all went to shit over night. So this old girl needs glasses. Multiple pairs apparently. Due to my weird eye thing I can't wear progressives, bifocals or contacts. I am going to have to cart around a briefcase just for glasses. So dinner? Not real high on my list. The dilation has thrown off my balance and I am a bit queasy. But if I were to order a pizza for dinner-my favorite is always the bbq chicken kind. (and edited to add: a big old thank you for melissa for her very timely glasses thread. I haven't ever had to buy glasses before and will read through it again taking notes the whole time...)

It rained this morning, but then the sun came out mid morning. The boys stayed in PJs all day to celebrate day one of Easter Break. We played outside for a long time this afternoon.. jumped on the trampoline, played in the mud puddles, had a bug hunt. It was a nice, relaxing day.
Dinner is going to be grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. Carrot sticks and sliced strawberries to go with them.
I like a good Hawaiian. We have a pizza place about 30mins from here and they make the best taco pizza!

I ended up making a vegetarian lasagne last night. It was really delicious, and I remember scrappintoee mentioning a while ago that she puts cream cheese in her lasagne. I usually do a bechamel sauce but this time I mixed cream cheese and ricotta - YUM! I did one layer each of tomato and basil sauce, mashed pumpkin, tomatoes, roasted onions, spinach, roasted pumpkin, mushrooms, roasted capsicum and I used the ricotta and cream cheese in every layer. Seeing that I was the only one who ate it last night there are plenty of leftovers for us to have tonight.
