It definitely looks like a torture device.

How would one not suffocate in that thing. I prefer just to be comfortable and let it all hang out.

Talk about going back a couple of hundred years! Those things were uncomfortable then according to what is said in books etc., - and I'm not sure they will have changed now!!

I would rather have a muffin top than be tortured like that.

That's definitely not for me. I have an overabundance of me in that area. What would happen if it blew? Someone would get hurt. Probably whoever was standing closest to me when it let go! LOL!

Notice how the model is forced to stand for the photo? Even she can't get comfortable.

i like it. i have several steel-boned corsets similar in design. you can sit, but you have to kinda perch on the edge of the seat. definitely no slouching. personally i like corsets a lot. it takes some training to get used to it, but once you are it's not so uncomfortable.

I used to LIVE in corsets. They are quite comfy once you train yourself. Although at the of the night, watch out! Unbuckle and unlace!!!

I kind of agree with femalebusiness; my SO would love to see me in a corset. I on the other hand worry about being able to breath and spilling out all over the place. Although he says he wouldn't care about the spillage.

That almost made me have a panic attack. I had to take a couple of deep breaths just so I could feel my ribcage expand.

The one this lady is wearing looks like she should be turning blue! LOL

I don't think it's meant to be worn for more than a short time anyway...

Maybe a stupid question, but can you wear one if you actually are "fluffy"? That model looks thin as it is.

I don't think it's meant to be worn for more than a short time anyway... utmr, this is not being sold as sexy lingerie. It's being sold as "shapewear". I take that as something that is to be worn for longer periods of time, not just "fun time".

I saw that this morning on Zulily. I studied it for a couple minutes. You could never bend over to tie your shoe. Talk about being constricted!

I totally thought this post was going to be about some type of vehicle. Nope, much better. ROFL ETA: Maybe because I am 9 months preggo and shapewear is the farthest thing from my mind.

My dd said her wedding corset was actually comfortable. It's all about how tightly you lace it. You can do it so it's too tight and restricts your breathing or you can just lace it enough that it's snug. Sarah just did her slightly past snug. She was able to breath all day just fine and even danced in it. One of my favorite bloggers has started wearing one to help with her anxiety disorder and she says it's amazing at reducing cramping during her period. I wouldn't mind having one that I wore at night for a few minutes. I think they look awfully pretty on. As for fluffy girls, just Google "steampunk dress" and you'll see dozens and dozens of plus sized women in corsets. The steampunk asthetic has been embraced by women of all sizes and the look almost requires a corset.

Maybe a stupid question, but can you wear one if you actually are "fluffy"? That model looks thin as it is. It's not a stupid question at all! Most of the women I know who are in the BDSM scene are larger. Some are way larger. All wear corsets. Shapewear is different than a boned corset though. This is like Spanx, not like dominatrix gear. A shapewear piece will show lumps and bumps, a corset of a thicker material like a lined satin (or really sturdy, like leather) and with boning, will show it less or not at all.
and yeah, in a real corset, your boobs are up in your throat, that's how it's supposed to be. Plus, it's not for ten minutes of "look at me" before we do it, like a teddy or lingerie. It takes long enough to get into a corset properly, I'm not shedding that for a while.
