I'm finally back on a scrapping roll! Soup is in the crockpot. Laundry has been changed over several times. (Never mind the sheets that need folding ) And I've done 6 pages. I'm liking what I'm doing. I have my scrappy confidence back. I'm going to need to buy page protectors soon. I really would like to get a few albums, too, as well. And I think I need an Ott lamp. The house I live in is really old, and for whatever reason, they would put the ceiling light fixture only on one side of the room. Mine is over my bed. My desk is kinda dark. (And the room isn't very big, so the bed only fits in one place.) Is anyone else scrapping?

May I jump in? I finished 10 layouts so far this month and a few cards. My goal is to complete 10-15 more layouts and a bunch more cards--no real goals in terms of cards except to use my new stamps! I have bought a bunch of stamps over hte last month or two and haven't used them yet. I have been super busy and it seems crafting is the only thing that peaces me out. I am also knitting some socks for hubby and crocheting a blanket--that's taken AGES.
My true crafting time is really only on the weekends, due to work and my work with the trump resistance (my son was briefly on the Rachel Maddow show last Friday during a protest we attended!! the thrill of it!) but I may try and find a couple of hours one day during the week. Exercise, crafting and good food...(and wine) keep me sane!

Yesterday I made a point of using two new stamps sets (birthday and one set that had a dreamcatcher and feather) on a couple different pages. How cool that your son was on the show (even briefly!) Is it weird that my first thought as a crafter was, "I wonder if she got a snapshot of the television while he was on it?" When my kid was on a school-related thing on YouTube, I did a screen shot so that I could scrap it. LOL.

Therest of the month will be prettybusy work wise for me and we will probably go outof town one weekend, but I want to get some scrapping done. I think my goal will just be to do something.
I also want to get started on cleaning up my my craft room. I may be going back to school in the fall and will need to use it as a study/craft room. So, I really need to get some things out of it. Mostly things that belong to my husband and son. They like to stash things in my room because it's convenient.

The printer called today to let me know the pages they had for my dgs's grad album have been copied. I have one more container to take them when I pick those up Wednesday or Thursday this week.
Then I will need to figure out how his album will actually go together. Part of that will be getting some additional page protectors, but I can put his pages in order and put the originals back in my 18 yrs worth of albums and get those albums back on the shelf.

Wrapped up week 11 in my project life...that's what I had printed through the last time I ordered (which was March 20th). I just received a new box of pictures today to work on setting up the page protectors through the end of April. I can't wait. I need to tidy a bit (I have quite the pile of enamel dot sheets accumulating trying to get colors to work with the last several weeks I've worked on) but tomorrow the plan is to work on sorting the new photos, dating the backs and get them into my album. I might skip putting our vacation into the album just yet because I'm not sure how I'm going to tackle it. I usually do one color scheme for a week no matter how many spreads it ends up being, but with us having been to the zoo, a museum, an aquarium, and NASA, I'm not sure if I want to try to go themey for the aquarium and zoo pictures or not and that could determine how I spread pictures out (basically, by making sure each day ends in a certain place with no overlap on the same page protector if I'm going with a theme). Everything else is pretty mundane and boring, so they should be pretty easy. I'm still nowhere near caught up in 2016 or 2015 as I've only been working on this year the past couple of months, but I've never been this close to real time before. I really like it.

Yesterday I bought Recollections uppercase alphabet dies at M's. I used a 50% off coupon, which made them about $6.50 Funny thing is, the package they come in says 30 pieces. There are 27 dies. It's just a typo, but for a couple of minutes, I was looking to see where those last 3 pieces might be. Also, bought 2 packs of enamel dots in the clearance section. One of which is Heidi Swapp arrows, dots, etc. Very happy shopping for under $10. As far as scrapping goes, I did scrap both my Easter layouts the other day, and like how they turned out. They came together a little too easily. They are very photo heavy, though.

I had this posted in another thread. Here's my goals for May:
•place an order for all my digi LOs I haven't printed yet, (NSD weekend to take advantage of persnickety's sale) done! - 248 LOs ordered! •get 10 pages prepped for crop (1/10) •edit and order photos for PL 2017 •add journaling to older LOs lacking story (1/??) •complete 5 UFOs (3/5) •make progress on PL •back up my photos to my EHDs •back up my photos to Amazon •complete a total of 25 projects (including UFOs) for the month (4/25) •spending frost - or at least get some of my stash used!!

I managed to get all (with 1 exception) of my pictures ready...so not only am I current from the prior order (week 11) I am all set to start scrapping again tomorrow night. 2 weeks even fit into one really long spread...one week had a lot of pictures because of Easter and the next week had maybe 5 pictures altogether. The only one I haven't tackled (they are sorted, just not in the album, yet) is our vacation. I might end up scrapping everything I've put into the album and then go back and do our vacation week after so I can dedicate a solid week to it knowing that there isn't anything else in the album waiting for me to get to it. I may only have until mid March finished, but the album is starting to look like a proper project...it's getting chunky enough that I took the second half of the year (I have index cards in page protectors to indicate the week numbers and dates for the entire year) and put it into another album the other day. I just hope the momentum keeps up because it will mean that I'll be current enough to start jumping back into my older albums again. Being sick really put a damper in my creativity...especially so since I was sick for a month straight and my only hobby during that time was taking a daily nap!

Finished the last two cards on my list today. Yay me! Also have the sign almost assembled. Need to add in a couple more embellies, and that will be a done deal as well. And I am halfway through returning my original pages to my albums after printing them for dgs's book. Now that justjac picked up some Recollections page protectors for me, I can soon be slotting the copies into the protectors. Reminds me of a signature someone has: "It doesn't matter how fast you go, as long as you keep moving"...

I'm working on my third layout of the month. It happens to be my most favorite picture I've ever taken. I'm finally ready to scrap it. It's of my babies when my oldest was 3 and my youngest was about 5 months. It's one of those pictures that instantly sends me back in time. It's so sweet. Maggie Holmes Open Book paper is perfect for it and I just picked up that paper pad recently so I'm ready to roll.
It's mid-month. How are you all doing on your goals?

editing today....and as you can see, I'm very easily distracted. Showing you one of my favorites so far from the blue ridge parkway . I wanted a red barn and we found this one the last day right before it was becoming too dark. I hope to get 101 pics ready to send to shutterfly by tomorrow night.

I spent the day getting some not so fun scrappy tasks completed. I returned the rest of the pages I got back from the printer to their albums, and started returning albums to their shelves. Felt good to get some of the binders that had been cluttering up my craftroom floor back where they belong. Still not done yet though. The printer still has 20% of the pages I gave him to copy, and those should be ready this week. Working with those albums actually helped me accomplish a couple of other things I hadn't considered. I changed how I store them so that there will be more room on my shelves. (Put the older ones away in the bottom of a china cabinet that had empty shelves). Also, I found a few things going through the albums: one was a set of photos I took but didn't scrap in 2012. I had a space for them in the album, and had them tucked in there. Put a sticky in that album to alert me to the place the pages will go when I get them created. I put the pics along with some notes into an envelope with my Photos To Scrap. And I found my PUMPKIN DIES and EMBOSSONG FOLDER. It too had been tucked into a page protector a couple of falls ago in the hope that I would use it there. I tell ya: getting old can sometimes yield pleasant surprises! And this morning I was able to put the last coat of sealer onto the sign for my dgs. Here it is: hockey sign by Gramma Dee, on Flickr It has warped a bit, but dh suggested if I paint the back of it, it may streighen out (I guess painting just the one side caused the warping. We hung it on a hook, and it actually hangs better than I was afraid it might.

This will be another month with only one crop. I will be away for the first monthly crop because I will be celebrating my birthday at the beach. My mom just told me today she'd like if we can stay the whole week. I am not going to take any scrapping with me because I want to make memories not scrap them for once! I will be able to use up a bunch of my summer/shore stuff! There is a scrapbook store there I think and I will want to make a visit.
So the one day I will have to scrap I will once again work on current pictures. I didn't finish my current photos at my one and only April crop and I won't even try to get my photos from the birthday beach trip printed and ready to be scrapped in one day!
At some point I will be able to work on my big project of my 18th century living history photos. I had optimistically thought I could finish this batch by July, but that is a pipe dream at this point - maybe by September.....
I really like to keep up with current photos so I don't fall behind, and both boys have been giving me pictures to have printed. This was my May goals post and I did scrap on the one day - Saturday. I got most of the pictures printed even though we only got back from the beach Friday night because I sent them from my computer and my DH picked them up. I scrapped about a third of the photos. I had visited an actual still in business LSS on my trip and bought all kinds of beach paper to use. Here are 2 layouts I did:

Aiming for at least 50 layouts this month as well specific goals: -Mother's Day card -Birthday card for DD -stay caught up (within a week) in 2017 album -stay caught up (within a week) in Okinawa album -complete at least the first year (of two) in the brownie album This has been a busy month life-wise - I've taken tons of pictures but haven't done much scrapping. I've finally finished November 2016 and am scanning Oct/Nov 2016 at the moment but yeah - that's it so far. Hoping this long weekend will help me make some progress on goals - we don't really have plans so...

We've had some rainy days in my area, so I've been able to spend a little bit of time scrapping. I just finished my fifth page, and I'm trying to figure out what to do with numbers 6 and 7.
I've been watching tons of Shimelle videos lately, and I'm trying to learn how she does what she does with all her layers and clusters. But when I try to do what she does with my pages, I feel like the photos are getting lost, and I end up taking most of it off the pages. So, I'm struggling with my scrapping a bit this week, but in a really good way. Always learning.

I had to go check my April Goals before putting up my May goals. May will still be a cleaning, gardening, home month, but I should get a full weekend of personal time. DH & the kids are going to the MIL's. Hurray! I'm having a hard time deciding what I want to do. I love just watching My own movies and eating what I like when I like. I'm debating setting up some folding tables and just sorting out finished layouts and putting them into the right albums; or just scrapping; or both. Just don't know at this point. So for the rest of the month, I'd like to create at least 1 layout per week and crossing my fingers for 2. Last day of May check in. I did create a layout each week (except for this 1/2 one), plus more on my "me" time weekend. So I had 12 layouts completed for this month. I consider this a major success. How did everyone else do on their goals?
