Where? Here? Facebook? My first instinct is No, unless you enjoy the drama.

Here. No one knows me. Or, at least I don't think so. But, it could show up in a search, couldn't it?

In the past peas have found that this board isn't the best place to vent about their family issues. Never stops anyone though. We would have to know your mother and sisters googling abilities first. If your mother was a pea would she post a thread asking which shoe goes with the above dress or would she spend a couple mins thumbing through a catalog?

No. Protect your privacy. Instead, vent about the situation here. Summarize your frustration and get some excellent suggestions.

If your mom or sister found out you posted, would it make things worse? If I wanted to post, I'd probably change names, places, and other identifiable info and go for it.

This is a stupid thread.
Either post about it or don't.

I wouldn't post a verbatim quote because that could show up on a Google search. Change it up so as to summarize what was said while getting the jist of the message, and vent away.

you could paraphrase the message so it can't be searched or you could just explain it in a vent.

This is peaing at new heights... a vague-post about possible vague-posting. And brilliant - over 1000 views with just 15 responses to something that tells no one anything!! To be honest, unless Sister has just confessed to being a serial killer, head of a ponzi scheme or evicting Mom because she sneezed, I'm pretty sure the reality will be far below the bar I have set in my own mind for 'drama'!!

If you post, definitely paraphrase so it doesn't show up in searches.

Because thumbing through a catalog is somehow superior to getting real peoples' opinions. It appears that even the fluff threads I start are controversial for some reason.

I wouldn't say that is a slap, but rather measuring a degree of internet savvy.
If I was looking for dressy which I never wear these days, I would ask the peas. I don't shop in those type of shoe stores anymore, and as the retailers are constantly changing I would trust that the peas would have a broader outlook as well as being much more fashionable.
I love the threads on matching shoes.

I love the threads on matching shoes. But in the give example, who supposedly has better googling skills? The pea who posts for help finding shoes, or the pea who sits and looks at a paper catalog? Neither person in the example is demonstrating any high degree of internet saavy or googling skills. And given that I just posted a thread on this very thing a couple of days - it certainly feels like it was aimed at me. I love matching shoe threads too - I love shoes and it is always fascinating to see what peas come up with. Just today, @patter introduced me to Alegria shoes, and I'm seriously thinking about getting a pair.

Anyhow, I'm glad it wasn't aimed at me.

It read more like "is your mom/sister a googler likely to find this thread, or is she someone who's more likely to flip through a catalog (isn't on the computer much)", but what do I know.
Plus if she meant you, I'm sure she'd have no trouble naming you.
