Why did I buy this pack of 12 Heidi Swapp giant "kiwi" flowers? Any ideas for how to use them? These, but green, and 5 inches across. Add yours. Maybe the Peas can help you with ideas to use your problem products!

I had some of those and they're so huge that I ended up using one folded in half on a layout with something layered on top. I never used the rest but I bet they would be cute on a card with a sentiment on top. If you're into card making.
My 'why did I buy this' item is also Heidi Swapp. I have three or four packages of ghost frames. I just cannot get them to work on a layout!

Thanks for the folding in half idea. Thinking of them as semi-circles gives me more options. Actually, my advice to you is along the same lines: Cut them in half. My 'why did I buy this' item is also Heidi Swapp. I have three or four packages of ghost frames. I just cannot get them to work on a layout! I have a bunch of printed cardstock frames that were just sitting until I learned a new trick recently. I watched a video (Asa Malm? or maybe Shimelle) cut a frame on the diagonal and just tuck the ends under her mats/ photo block/ papers as just another layer peeking out. I was like, dang, that's so easy, why didn't I think of that? Just because it starts off as a frame doesn't mean you have to use it as a frame

Why did I buy this pack of 12 Heidi Swapp giant "kiwi" flowers? Because they're adorable. I used mine mostly by folding them in half and then put layering pieces under and above for projects. Only a couple were used full. I think I still have a pack though. My why did I buy / help me use? Making Memories color grommets. I have a package of these that I don't think was ever opened.

i loved those HS flowers! i got rid of them though when i got rid of all my other flowers. oh, i did keep the christmas poinsettias because they're sparkly try using one to back a photo, like you might do with a doily or fill in a frame with a piece or fold one around the side of a tag for a fun start to an embellishment or...i got nothin else. i got rid of all my flowers because im flower-challenged! as for the grommets...you could string twine between two of them, either to make a banner or just along/under something as an embellishment. ghost frames i would cut and tuck into layers or clusters. i'm sure i have some monstrosity lurking in my stash but at the moment i cant think of any

My why did I buy / help me use? Making Memories color grommets. I have a package of these that I don't think was ever opened. Grommets? The only thing I can think of is to attach them to cardstock and fussy-cut around them. And just keep them handy to stick on a page as part of a cluster. Maybe if they have a flat back, like most of the stuff we use, you'll find it easier to just grab and stick. They won't be pain-in-the-neck-to-use grommets anymore, just flat stuff to stick.

The grommets could be cute on a large tag for journaling. Now that I think of it, I may have a pack of them buried somewhere in that archeological dig I call my scrap room.😆

I have taken large flowers and cut the tips of the petals off and they look kind of like cogs. Great for a boy page.

I bought a giant QVC kit with 293430982 Heidi Swapp flowers waaaaay back when, and I think I used 1? 2? They ended up being donated to my son's pre-school many years ago! They are pretty, but I have two boys... what was I thinking?!

The big flowers I would layer with smaller flowers and an eventual brad or enamel dot in the middle. Then I would just cluster it with some smaller flowers around it.
The grommets I would put a large pop dot in the middle hole and add a something to it like the butterflies - cut some patterned paper or sticker to the popdot to make it sort of 3D. Does that make sense?

Maybe the Peas can help you with ideas to use your problem products! When I first saw the pic, I thought SUNSHINE! I have used those big flowers folded in half and tucked behind a photo or even a scrapped scene. Just used a big red one on a page for my former supervisor who loves daisies. A green one, I might colour with paint or spritz with some blue so it becomes more teal? Use it as a matt? Right now I am wondering why I bought the 4 jars of Inka Gold LOL (the mouldy one I pitched and the 3 others teetering on the edge in my mind...) Seriously, the products I keep buying yet have the most trouble using are the "ephemera" or diecuts that go with collections. I like the idea of them, but when I have pulled all the little pieces out, I seldom use any. Have to get working on my clustering skills, I guess.

I just got rid of those ginormous Heidi Swapp flowers. Remember the jar of 100? I see them on my layouts and I hate them. I have them on numerous layouts and I hate those gigantic flowers. I had them in about 3 colours, too.

Any ideas for how to use them? These, but green, and 5 inches across. Any time I see something big that might be overwhelming on its own, I think "layer it." I have no problem cutting flowers, doilies, etc in half or quarters, and just tucking parts of it in behind paper, photos, etc. Layering works with just about anything. And heck, if you like the color of the green flowers, but can't use them as is, use a die or a paper punch and make a new shape with them. Leaves. A monogram letter. A flower doesn't have to be a flower anymore. It's just another piece of paper.

For some of my scrappy things that I no longer want, I have started using for random things.
Why don't you write a little love note on one and fold it up and put it where your loved one can find it? It doesn't have to be a heart. It could be a flower! Even if it is for a male. You can leave it somewhere at home, and no one would see it but him.

I guess I could Google it.. but then I could keep wondering for another 10 years. like this: scrapbook.com old pageSome were clear, some were colored. I don't remember frames specifically, but they came in all sorts of shapes. They are vinyl-like, not acrylic.

Sorry but the grommets cracked me up. I remember those from way back. I've certainly made some of those 'what was I thinking' purchases.
I didn't have the HS ghost frames but I had some of the shapes. They were useless since you couldn't see them on the layout. Duh, ghost letters. I ended up putting Stickler glitter glue on them or inking them a little.

If they were smaller, I'd say make them into a big, graphic 12x12 background.

Well now I know what ghost letters are for.. I know what I did with a bunch of big flowers I had.. My DD, when she graduated from high school, had to make a poster board about herself, growing up. We used those flowers and glitter to accessorize her poster.. It was adorable.. In fact, I saved it. I also saved my son's board when he graduated. Let's just say there is a HUGE difference between his (in which he slapped some pictures on a poster board and wrote his name on with marker and called it good) and daughters, in which we used my Cricut, flowers, glitter, and on and on... lol

I may be the odd scrapper out, but I found a lot of Heidi Swapp's Advantus products apart from the chipboard hearts difficult to use. I bought the stuff but never could put it on paper and it all got sold or donated.

Giant flowers: I use them on cards all the time. It gives me a good center for a sentiment or other somewhat circular embellishment. I've also folded them into quarters to use as photo corners, folded in half and used as described in this thread. I've also found something to use as a 3D center (maybe an unmatched earring or something from a stash of doo dads) and then put a magnet on the back. I like pretty magnets.
Ghost letters: I use craft paint around the edges and attach as a title or embellishment on a layout. The paint acts as an adhesive as well. I like the effect.
Oversize grommets: I like any random shape to replace any "O" in a title, so I might use a star or flower that way. I'd have to see if the butterfly would work. I'd also use as a border with several in a line, embellishing one with more layers, or pop-dotting something on one of them.
