I guess I'm a giant nerd because this is news to me.
Anyone else like the show?

I don't watch it, but my DH has it on sometimes. It was a good run.

I should have explained. The show will go on, without Kari, Tory and Grant though.

Okay, phew! As long as Adam and Jamie are sticking together, all is good.
My family loves Mythbusters!

My first reaction was, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" The added explanation was appreciated.
I liked Kari, Tori, and Grant, but as long as Jamie and Adam stay and the show goes on, DH and I can live with that.

it's been so long, I don't even remember what it was like without Grant, Tory, and Kari, but maybe they need to shake it up a bit. I don't think it will affect the show negatively.

Our family loves that show. I wonder if there will be a spin-off with the other three.

Great show but I won't mind the three leaving...they had more than their fifteen minutes of fame...they are easily replaced.

We are disappointed. Love them all, but enjoyed the 3! Tory & Kari were tweeting last night. From what I saw online, it didn't sound like they wanted to leave but were forced out. I'll stick with it for a bit. I enjoyed the silly fun element they added to the show.

My grandsons love this show, but I don't think they'll be disappointed as long as the show remains.

I can see how those three would want to move on to bigger and better things. They were so young when they started, and their roles are still similar 10 years later (or however long it has been.).
I wonder if they will be replaced or if it will just be Jamie and Adam.

And it doesn't seem to me as if Grant, Kari and Tori left willingly to pursue other opportunities.

My dh said that he has heard on and off that mythbusters might be breaking up.
He says that Jamie and Adam do not like each other, that they work well together but do not want to see each other after work.

I suspect that Grant, Kari and Tori asked for more money and they were turned down. It's too bad, I really like the trio and think that often, they have the more interesting myths. I wish them the best in their futures. As for Jamie and Adam not getting along, I believe it. It seems that Adam often plays to the fool to Jamie's character. I can't say that I like that--they both have their individual strengths when it comes to the show. Just because Adam is a bit goofy doesn't mean that he isn't smart, too. I can see more of the creative side of the show coming from him. It's not that I don't like Jamie--I just don't think Adam needs to play second fiddle.

When they announced it at the end of the episode I told my husband that Discovery probably wanted to cut costs. Cheaper to pay 2 salaries instead of 5. We always liked Grant, Tori, and Kari. We will miss them.

That's too bad. I think Karrie, Grant and Torey offer a lot to the show. They look like they have so much fun working on the myth busting together.

Oh, we love Mythbusters in this house. Went to their live show last summer (which was awesome, btw). I was so sad to hear their announcement tonight that Kari, Grant and Tori will no longer be on the show. I was also a little bothered that they didn't let them say their own goodbyes. Makes me wonder what the 'real' reason they have been ousted is. L

Jennifer I watched a 'behind the scenes' episode once and Jamie readily admitted that he's a grump and HATES being in front of the camera. Adam is his exact opposite and Jamie eventually - albeit begrudgingly - admitted they needed both personalities to do the show. They don't dislike each other so much as they acknowledge they are polar opposites who work well together. L

Sounds like someone needs to send him What Color Is My Parachute? I don't think Jamie 'chose' a career that's on camera as much as he was offered an opportunity to do what he loved on a HUGE scale. The caveat being it would be filmed and a TV show would be attempted. His compromise was pairing up with Adam, who has no qualms about being on the screen. They balance each other out, I think, and have done a lot of good in getting kids interested in science. People paid upwards of $500 a pop for floor seats for the show I attended. The majority of the audience was children. L

So I can watch the show again? YAY! I quit watching after seeing just a few episodes with those three. Really didn't like them, or feel they added anything that was needed.
