We live close to the shore but when visiting people inland there are seagulls in places like parking lots, landfills...places like that.. I always find it weird, but since they're really nothing but flying rats, I guess they just go wherever the garbage is.

No seagulls in Atlanta, GA My mm lives about 40 min from the ocean....see a lot near the beach but have never seen one at her house. I have seen seagulls my whole life, but NEVER at a house. Either the beach or parking lots! I should have been clearer - I meant that although she lives only 40 miles from the beach, I've never seen any seagulls in her town. Save

Yes. Gulls in the middle of Montana prairie, following the tractor. They ate bugs that were turned up by the plow, I guess. They just came for the summer, though, and migrated back to the Texas coast probably. We're at the western edge of the Central Flyway.

I like seagulls. They are about the only bird that won't fly away from you so you can get good pictures! LOL! This guy (or gal) was easy to bribe with fries!

I have seen seagulls once or twice in the 10 years that we've lived near Phoenix... I assumed they got blown WAY off course during a migration, or something like that!

We have them in Southern Idaho. I don't think I've seen them in North Idaho.

I live on the prairie ... nowhere near water ... there are gulls at the fast food drive-in that we go to once in awhile ... obviously they migrate or have dealt with the winter

They are here in central ohio I don't remember ever seeing them in SW Ohio when I was a kid - only up near Lake Erie. Oddly, I don't see many in Manhattan, either, unless I'm walking right along the river. I guess the pigeons have pretty much staked out the scavenger territory in the city.

I thought seagulls were the UT state bird because they ate all the grasshoppers who were destroying the crops of the first Mormon settlers who were barely hanging on after a long hard winter. Miracle of the Gulls en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_of_the_gullsLots of gulls in Seattle. We are in a suburb about 15 miles East and they don't venture over here.

I'm in southern ohio, we've got them in the wal Mart parking lot.
