My dh finished my dds AG Lea Tiki Hut today!!! This was custom built by dh with input from dd. She even chose the paint colors. My mom made the bedding and side curtains. It cost about $100 to build. The AG version was $400. Dd collects AG Dolls. My dad has built her a bunk bed and picnic table.

I've never been into dolls myself, but I love that - it's very cute! It looks huge - how big are the AG dolls?

That is so great! My grandpa built me a bed for my American girl doll, I still have it tucked away, it is one of my most prized possessions.

That's so cool! One of the few toys DD (18 now) saved were her American Girl dolls and such. About 12 years ago DD begged for the sleigh. Which needed a team of horses and was $$$$. So she "settled" for the tree house. Darn Santa didn't bring that either! But Kit's kitchen was a Black Friday deal, so Santa did bring that!

Your dh is very talented. That's awesome. I don't have girls, sadly. Sniffle. It was Legos and cars in my house. I so miss dolls.

What a great Tiki hut! Your DH is very talented and your DD is a lucky girl! DD got her Felicity 20+ years ago. I really wanted the trunk for Molly for storage but the price was too high. Instead I showed a photo to my late FIL, a talented woodworker. The chest she ended up with was a work of art and so much better than a mass produced one. The chest is entirely put together with pegs! She treasures it. I am sure your DD will treasure this tiki hut for many years to come as well!

Love it!! Your DD must be thrilled. I used to have Molly and Kit, on display at Molly's kitchen table with her tea set, too. All gone now except maybe the tea set. I would have loved your DH's tiki hut.

It`s lovely when the whole family gets involved in making a project. The hut looks like something that will be treasured.

It looks fantastic! Your dd's is much better than the AG version because it was made especially for her by those that love her.

A few years ago, we built a huge American Girl dollhouse for my dd. If you are interested, I will post the pictures. I know I posted them when we first made it but not sure if you saw them. The dollhouse is 6 foot tall by 9 feet wide. There are 9 rooms, each being 2 foot high, 3 foot wide and 2 feet deep. We also built the horse stable from Anna White.

My MIL sewed bedding, pajamas, and a robe. She would never part with them, either. @calimom2 that is wonderful! Your DD is lucky to have such a handy dad.
