Why only for two weeks?
I personally would also cut any refined carbs not just added sugar (so no Chex, pretzels, bread, etc).
I started doing THM which really cuts sugar and feel much better. I haven't lost a ton of weight yet but more than I had been with other methods.

We're doing an elimination diet for dd's health. We cut out lots of things - processed/refined sugars, most grains, legumes, plus many other things. The first few weeks I felt fantastic. Then I had a weekend by myself and "treated myself" to foods that I wasn't able to eat with dd's diet. It's been downhill for me since with eating off the diet whenever I feel like it and dd isn't in sight. I'm totally ready for a reboot as I just felt better.
So good luck with cutting it out.

I need to cut sugars. Whole30 helped me see that it can be done! There are certain things I never picked back up again - my weak areas like soda and my favorite candies.
However I need to cut sugar for my health. I have been doing pretty well but yesterday I had. It one but TWO pieces of cake at a graduation party. It was the most perfect cake I have had in a long time. With the perfect buttercream frosting. I may regret it but man did I enjoy it.
All that to say, op originally asked about fruit. I was told the fruits to avoid because of high sugar: watermelon, grapes, raisins and bananas.

I completely cut out sugar on April 19 and have dropped over 30 lbs. It was hard, but worth it! I don't even use aspartame or anything. I have had 2 cheat days only, and I still crave carbs, but getting rid of all the sugar has made my skin great and this weekend, at an outside wedding, I was the only one not bitten to pieces by mosquitos! Normally, I am eaten up. Don't know if it's the no sugar, but I'll take it!
Good look!

I guess I am not nearly as strict as most of those posting -- being super strict is a recipe for failure for me. Rather than cutting out sugar completely, I decided to stop eating sweets, such as candy, desserts, pastries, cookies, chocolate, etc. I've always had a sweet tooth so my goal was to try to do something about that, and also to start eating healthier overall. But part of all of that was also to cut way down on snacking, because it's another downfall of mine (so I didn't really try to come up with low-sugar types of snacks). So, 2-1/2 years later, I do still eat sugar (I eat fruit as part of meals, and still eat some processed foods), but I almost never eat desserts, etc., and I've lost a significant amount of weight. I also started working out regularly, which has made a HUGE difference.

Ugghhh it's harder then one would think! I'm doing ok with the "obvious sugars" like have gone from sweet creamer and 2 tsp sugar in coffee to some liquid agave and milk...no more sugary cereals, cookies, etc....the rest will take some time!

If you're really keen to eliminate sugar, I can highly recommend a program that an Australian woman has put together and is available to follow online. It's an 8-week program that provides you with all your meal plans - which are seasonal and designed to eliminate food waste. She caters to Northern Hemisphere seasons as well. The program takes you through a process that is designed to help minimise the impact of quitting sugar (sugar detox SUCKS!). You can check out the website if you're interested: www.iquitsugar.comShe's actually in the US at the moment promoting the program and has a couple of speaking arrangements lined up over there.
