My dd and I were just talking about this. She reminded me that Ariana Grande's benefit concert is tomorrow. I said there would be a TON of security there and she said "but doesn't that just leave the rest of the country vulnerable?" Do you know how they're providing security for the concert? Especially now with these incidents this evening... They're not going to discuss the detail but there has been reassurance that security is as strong as it can be for the concert . I'm sure those f***tards are not going to strike where they know security is heightened . It just seems really difficult to stop suicide attacks. This world feels so different right now. It's scary. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg)

I cant believe there were more attacks, its so sad ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) I have most of my family going on a big European vacation to London and Paris starting tomorrow. Three adults and three kids ages 12 through 15 there meeting up with family that's already in London. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody cancels their trip because of these awful attacks. I want them to go its a great opportunity{ ?} but if they do go I'm going to be on pins and needles for the next two weeks worrying about their safety. All I can do right now is pray for everyone's safety and that these awful cowardly attacks STOP!!

Horrific. There is so much evil in the world. Thoughts to those impacted, wounded, killed and their families. Just horrific.

As I said on the other thread, our thoughts are with the UK peas and all affected.
Kudos to your very organised first responders- as was the case in Manchester recently, they displayed such organisation and achieved such a quick response time.

This morning's report is that there are 6 people dead and and at least 48 in hospital.
Three terrorists are dead. At this stage I am not sure if they are in addition to the six.

I think it's six plus three. Just woke up to this news as I went to bed early last night. Listening to the eye witness reports on the radio is awful, one witness on the Bridge explained that he thought the brakes had failed in the van because of the speed it was doing and when the three guys got out he thought that they were going to help. Then he saw them kicking and hitting the people they had run down. ![>:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png) Seems it took eight mins from 999 calls to armed Police shooting the terrorists dead.

All I can do right now is pray for everyone's safety and that these awful cowardly attacks STOP!! I hope that they don't cancel. In doing so they let these evil, sick people win. That's exactly what their goal is, to bring fear and terror to the lives of others, everyday. I can understand the concern but the risk is virtually zero if you consider how many people live in London & Paris. London has a population of about 8.75 million alone, not counting the number of tourists and others that visit daily. As tragic as this latest incident is. and I'm heartbroken that these barbaric cowards have managed to bring such heartbreak to a great city again, there is nothing, even with the most stringent security measures anyone can impose, that would avoid this, unless you take all vehicles off the road and everyone permanently stay indoors. If you look at it logically there is more of a risk to being killed in a car accident every day in any city, in whatever country one is in, than being in the wrong place at the wrong time through an act of terrorism.

This. The whole world knows of this because of the very nature of the attacks but they do not define our cities which are, normally, very safe and have caring, friendly residents. I have two nieces and five grand nephews/nieces living in London. I am no more worried about their safety today than yesterday and I wasn't worried then. I am angry. Angry that these worthless dregs of human kind do not have the courage to stand up and fight like real men. Angry also at one of the "eye witnesses" who seems more interested in his five minutes of fame and making inflammatory statements.

Ugh. Just woke up to this news. Glad all our London peas and their families are ok. gillyp I have not seen the eyewitness you're referring to but I saw some photos that someone had taken, shared on the BBC, that I found worrisome. Hugs to all. We mustn't let these cowards win.

All I can do right now is pray for everyone's safety and that these awful cowardly attacks STOP!! I feel exactly like you. My sister , her husband and 3 kids aged 13-19 are heading to London in a few weeks for a much anticipated family holiday for 4 weeks. They only booked tickets a few days ago, my nephew is going to compete in the Para athletes World championships. The girls have been so excited planning trips to the theatre and other great places- their first ever overseas holiday. I know I will feel worried until they are safely home, even though my logical mind tells me that bad things can happen at any time, anywhere. The police response seems so quick and of course the response from all the local people offering help is just amazing. There really seems to be no easy answer to this terrible problem. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg) Corinne

Something appears kicking off again in the Borough Market area. Armed police seem to be preparing themselves for another confrontation. Lots of speculation on the News. Possibly a terrorist unaccounted for and in hiding in the area.

What awful news I've just woken up to. Same here ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg) Just awful, and my thoughts are with all those affected. This one hits particularly close to home for me. I walk across London Bridge twice a day Monday-Friday. DH shops in Borough Market (he works nearby), and we both pass through there fairly often, especially on our way home after a night out. It felt strange enough walking across London Bridge after the Westminster attack, can't imagine how tomorrow will feel, knowing what has happened there. Couldn't agree more.

It might be that the French and Australians victims are among the injured. News is sketchy and constantly changing.

We just found out that one of my daughter's boyfriends friends was injured last night . Thankfully his condition is described as stable but we don't have any other info at the moment .
Watching the Manchester concert and bawling my eyes out.
So so sad and so unnecessary .
