Hey everyone! I saw "Wonder Woman" last night with my ladies meetup group and it was so good ... of course, I loooooove Chris Pine so looking at his cute face didn't hurt I ended up baking up some Costco lasagna for the family ... Tonight we will have grilled burgers and hot dogs ... I'll also make some homemade baked homefries ... the only veggies we will consume will be those on our burgers So I used to eat eggs for breakfast everyday ... I loved bacon too ... now I am off of both ... weird how our tastes change! Here's a bacon and egg meme What's on your menu tonight?

We had hamburgers (homemade - DH has a secret recipe) on the grill, with a cous cous salad for lunch. I'm heading off for my SnB meetup soon, where I will eat something small - probably cake.

We're going to open houses today because a friend of ours from the bay area is contemplating a move up here so DH wants to preview before next Monday. Not sure what is on tap for dinner ~ last night we had flank steak.

It's Sunday so that means it's a sheet pan meal tonight--sausage, potatoes, and vegetables.

I was at the store yesterday and they were sampling some sausage. I got this yummy Cajun sausage and I just have to figure out how I want to eat it.

And I absolutely did indulge in some Ben and Jerry's. Our Meijer had the new Bob Marley flavor One Love and it was delicious.

Dh and I grocery shopped this morning so we have choices...I have 5 lbs of chicken tenders marinating with olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic and lots of seasoning (care to guess who won't be eating these??). I'll grill them later and freeze most of them for easy dinners. I cooked 18 eggs in the Instant Pot for lunches and cooked a pound of bacon (LOVE the meme!). And finally, I mixed a pound of ground beef with minced onion, mustard and Worcestershire sauce to make some low carb meatball mushrooms I saw on Facebook last night. Those will be my dinner along with some raw veggies.
Last night dh and I went for fried seafood. I only ate a few fries and onion rings and mostly haddock, clams and a couple scallops and a shrimp. I was shocked by how quickly I was full. Dh and I share a meal at this place and we didn't come close to finishing it. We enjoyed a nice walk around the grounds of the place we went to...it was a really nice evening!

Well I was going to make steak but it's currently raining and I only grill steak. But it's also going to rain until Wednesday and I don't want to wait that long to cook it.
So if there is a break in the rain I'm grilling the steak. If not maybe I'll slice it up and make pepper steak or something.

I'm not sure which way I'm leaning. Sil will be here for dinner and she flies back home tonight. So, dinner will be either Giada's meatballs and orchiette or chicken teriyaki bowl. She has acreage and a wonderful garden and I know she would love the teriyaki bowl w/all of her fresh veggies. I'll decide when I get to the store. We bought veggies at the farmer's market for the bowl, but she would also love the meatball recipe. Maybe I'll just sit here and look pretty.
I'm toast from the big week, but my graduate is toastier. (I invented a new word.) He's still asleep. He gets to be a couch potato for a few days. He's going to work a lot this summer and play a lot. That's how summer before freshman year is meant to go. Most importantly, he had better take his favorite mommy to a couple baseball games.

I think we will have grilled sausages, zucchini, peppers, corn & onions. DH gets back in time for dinner so I have to make a real meal tonight. I know he caught at least 3 tuna and not sure what else but it will all arrive frozen so fresh fish will have to wait for another day. lucyg, you must come back and fill us in on your "date".

I set myself up for that, didn't I? LOL I just find it suspicious that my brother invited along some random guy. I didn't ask for details, so maybe I'll get there and discover he's my son's age, or my mom's age, or married or something.

So far, so good, in the tribe. Yay!
Sausage, broccoli, hash browns, eggs, cheese in a casserole. I am off to cut the broccoli into tiny pieces.
I also feel like strawberry shortcake so I printed off a recipe from King Arthur flour. I have cream to whip so I am looking forward to licking the beaters!
Thanks for the thread. No sympathy in our house for either of those animals in the meme hahaha.

Just when you think it's a familiar 'ole Sunday dinner thread lucyg drops a little bomb on us. We insist on an update later. I wasn't sure what to do for dinner and then DH says he wants a hamburger. Fine by me because he likes to make his own. I'll be on KP duty, but that's ok when I don't have to make dinner. Since I don't eat much red meat, I'm free to pick from the leftovers in the fridge. I spent time online this morning looking at new dinner ideas for the IP and printed several. Off to the store in the morning with a new and slightly different shopping list. Perhaps my dinner thread will have some more variety in the evenings to come.

I pulled the charcoal grill out. I put an eye of round on ( because the briskets had a 2 inch thick layer of fat on them. ( with and inch of meat).
Since I had hot coals, I grilled some steaks for lunch. OMG ! Delicious.
I will make some foil packet potatoes to go with our fake brisket.

Haha, just went to Raley's and picked up some salmon for dinner. When I got home there was an email from Raley's telling me a recipe to use the salmon.

Philly cheese steak sliders. They're like the funeral sandwich on Hawaiian rolls just Philly steak fixings instead. Broccoli coleslaw and grilled corn on the cob for sides.

Beer can chicken I think. Or Coke can or something like that. Some sort of salad, green beans, there's a bit of spinach left so I might cook it and maybe some pasta. I will see what DS wants to eat.

I prepped veggie lasagna but we went to BW3 for dh's birthday which is later this week. The girls and I will be at my parents then. So now we will have it tomorrow. I actually made a pan to freeze also. Lucy let us know how it turns out. My dd went to Shakespeare in the park last night. It was Julius Caesar.

We had bbq pork chops that started out on the grill but it ran out of gas so into the oven they went. Homemade pasta salad/veggie and that's it. I am still so tired from this cough that started almost 5 weeks ago with pneumonia. I am so over it.

I had 2 very small porkchops so I decided to cut them up in pieces, add okra, corn, tomoatoes and onions to make them stretch. Made some rice to go along with it.

We you need to know in advance whether this is a set-up / blind date or whether it is a perfectly innocent "My mate loves Shakespeare and wanted to come along" kind of gig.
