I have a few Tupperware pieces left but have mostly switched to Lock and Lock. I really like it and have been buying it for about 5-6 years now. It's all still in great condition.

We've really liked Lock n Lock in the past, but I've noticed with the last few pieces we've gotten, the quality doesn't seem to be as good. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg)

Throwing away your Tupperware?!?!?!?!?! ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/JvSt42CUoZ9LG952aAaF.jpg) I've still got a lot of tupperware from the 80s and 90s (inherited from my parents). Costs a fortune here and it's the only thing that keeps ants out. I've had various lids replaced over the years. Love it ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/W4b_Om5roEadLiOzGo_l.jpg)

I briefly switched to glass everything but it was hell on my shoulders and neck to carry them to work. I even bought glass bottles for milk/juice. The containers aren't big enough for a salad (unless it's a side salad), and like I said, if you are carrying several containers (which I was) on a daily basis, they really do get too heavy.
I just switched to SIGG water bottles and Rubbermaid premiere containers (which I'm not in love with because the lids are huge). I may end up just buying some other Fit & Fresh containers again. I have a huge salad for lunch most days and I use the Fit & Fresh 7 cup container, which is rectangular as opposed to square. I also use disposable jello shot containers for salad dressing. I think those are 2 oz?

I use the Snap and Lock or canning jars with plastic lids for most of my storage. I have half a dozen of the the half gallon mason jars and I love using them.

I use the cheap stuff like Ziplock for the most part because then it doesn't matter if it goes missing, gets forgotten and the food molds, etc.
I tried getting into glass but it is just too damn heavy to be practical. Plastic is light and easy to deal with. Are there alleged health benefits to eliminating plastic? Sure, but there's nothing so pressing that I feel the need to switch. Ziploc and the other slightly more expensive brand that I use whose name escapes me at the moment work perfectly for what I need.

I use a variety of things. I have some Pyrex glass jars, but I mostly use the Target version of the Ziplock containers. I find they're less expensive and work better - don't warp or stain. Both of my girls and dh prefer to take their lunches in these containers over glass containers.

For those that think glass is too heavy for transporting lunches what about stainless steel? Or even glass plates covered in wax paper (they have natural wax paper without any bleaches or chemicals).

Pyrex and Tupperware (purchased within the last 3-4 years) are all that we have left now. I was afraid glass was too heavy but I haven't noticed a huge difference in the lunch bag I carry.
They also stack real nice in the fridge, we have round bowls in various sizes and rectangles.

Would love to go glass, but my S/O is not very graceful. He constantly breaks things. Plus my entire house is tile. Tile and falling glass, nooo. It shatters into a zillion pieces and with the dogs tromping around it is so hazardous. We use the Gladware stuff but are transitioning to the Rubbermaid stain resistant containers.

Lock and Lock for everything. They have both plastic and glass containers and we have a mix of both. The glass is good - can be heated in both microwave and oven so it's great for storing and reheating leftovers.

Honestly? Stainless steel is just way too noisy and I absolutely cannot stand (like it makes me stabby) the sound of cutlery on stainless steel. Oh good lord, even thinking about makes me wince. So I'd be using plastic cutlery... might as well just use plastic containers. I'v never seen glass covered in wax paper, but since it's glass I'm not sure how it would be different from other super heavy glass containers.

We went to glass because it is just more durable, not for any health benefits, although that's a nice perk if it's true. DH and DD always forgot which stuff could go in the microwave and which couldn't and after a while, it was all messed up and needed to be replaced. Now the rule is only glass goes in the microwave and that's that.

Pyrex here. I like how easy the glass is to clean. I take them to work in my bag with no issues and they stack well in the fridge. Another Pyrex person.

I still have some Tupperware that I live and won't get rid of but for most leftovers I am switching to glass I really like the new Pyrex containers I just bought a few more today. I didn't even know about them until my mil sent home some good in them. I fell in live with them and had to buy some for myself. I hope to get rid of any older yucky Tupperware. They are going out. I like the Pyrex ones that nest. I am happy to get rid of the plastics.
I tried a set of glass containers from Costco I think they are snap lock or something like that but hate them they are clunky and I hate the lids but at least they were glass and not plastic.

I like glad containers don't feel guilty if they have to be thrown out.

I still use my Tupperware on a daily basis. Called last year and got several replacement lids that had split. I love their new colors too. I tried selling Tupperware back in the 80's and I bought more than I sold. Me too. I still have cabinets full and I really love most of it altho I am slowly moving to glass containers.

Glass is too heavy for me too. I did buy a metal Bento lunch box for my son when his plastic one broke. I really love the metal one. It's so easy to clean! The plastic one had a rubber gasket on the lid, and it was a pain to clean.

Pyrex for me too. I got so tired of all the plastic staining & melting in the microwave. I love it! I'm getting ready to garage sale all my plastic!

I have never had a plastic container melt on me in the microwave. That would be horrible. Staining, yes. Melting, ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/JvSt42CUoZ9LG952aAaF.jpg)

Pyrex here too, hubby hates plastic anything, heck he doesn't even use a paper plate unless there is no other option.

I noticed on Amazon that the Wean Green glass containers are more expensive then the Pyrex glass containers. Is there a difference in the quality of the lids?
