I just watched an interview with 9 people from Ohio who voted for Trump. Every one of them said that they believed Comey lied under oath. Sweet Baby Cheeses. I am embarrassed to be a Buckeye. May need to move to another state.

This is a neighboring town to mine. This is why, when people say they believe less and less people are continuing to support Trump, I do not share this optimism. These are my neighbors. These are the views I see on Facebook every day. It's really hard to believe, isn't it?

I just find him to be such a threat to this nation on every level, and can't imagine the trust he seems to inspire in some people.

Of course Comey lied. He's a disgruntled former employee. He leaked his own memos. This whole Russia nonsense is a hoax and a distraction. Trump is not under investigation and has been exonerated by Comey's testimony. How hard is that to understand? Now let's get on to dismantling America, I mean to making America great again!

I watched a clip of DT jr's interview on Fox. Can't figure out how you can have it both ways: Comey lied! Comey said there was no investigation into dad, so there must be no investigation: it was all fake news.

Where were they from in Ohio? I'm terrified to watch this. My parents could be on this panel. They'd be proud to do it. 😨

Well just don't move to North Dakota. It's embarrassing how Trump loving this state is. Actually it doesn't matter who the person is as long as there is an R behind their name.

Once again, confirmation bias. Trump could say the sky is falling and those who already believe him will continue to do so. Don't wait for his base to turn because their minds will not let them do so. We just need to move forward with the hearings and sort it out. Even when he is found guilty, they still won't believe it.

The weather is quite nice in Morocco. Come on over!!! You got out just in time! I remember thinking your move was a little extreme, although I live in a different part of the country than you did. I'm glad it has worked out for your family, and that you don't have to endure the daily hatred that is going on here these days.

I grew up in Ohio, have always loved it and wanted to go back to the rural/rust belt area where I grew up. I was home last summer and was so disheartened by all the Trump signs. More and more I feel a lot better safely ensconced in my little blue Virginia city!

And so is the rest of the sane world. None of us can believe anyone can believe Trump's lies. But it happened and happens again and again. Sigh

Somewhere along the way parents and teachers in the US must have stopped reading/retelling the story of "The Emperor's New Clothes." Trump said it himself, he could kill someone in the middle of 5th avenue and it would not matter.
We live in scary times!

All I can think when I read this stuff is WTF is happening with our education system? People simply cannot be that naive and unaware. I know they are, but it's ridiculous.

It's not the education system. We try to teach people to think critically. But that's work, and not everyone likes to work. It's easier when you can just listen to FOX or Rush or Alex Jones and then repeat what they say. Reading or watching multiple news sources or watching a 2-hour hearing on CSPAN without spin is just too much effort. And then, once you've read and watched all of those sources, you have to spend time thinking about how reliable each one is, and what bias they may bring to the story.
More than that, you know what people really don't like? Admitting that they've been scammed. It's one thing to fall for the scam. It's quite another to realize that you've been scammed and admit it. That would be admitting that you were wrong. But not just wrong like 'yeah, I bought the wrong size window coverings' or 'oopsie, I shouldn't have used so much flour in that recipe.' This kind of wrong implies that you were able to be tricked by someone else. You were the victim, and someone else was able to come out on top. And that's just plain embarrassing.
As far as if he's found acquitted? I suppose it will depend upon what he may be charged with. Perhaps he had nothing to do with the collusion with Russia. Maybe it was all Flynn, Manafort, Page, etc. I could buy that - they know that he's got a big mouth and fat twitter fingers and would spill the beans, so I can see them leaving him out of the loop. He's also not all that intellectually curious, and I can see him not caring how and why Putin might help his campaign.
But obstruction of justice? Nope, I wouldn't believe it. He's got a pattern of it and we've got some honorable people saying he did it, and keeping notes. Unfortunately for him, he started off his presidency by telling lies - things that were demonstrably true to anyone who watched both inaugurations. He continued with more lies. His son seems to back up Comey's testimony in this case. If he's willing to lie frequently about his crowd size - as well as all of the other things he lies about - why would he tell the truth on this one issue? Why is this one issue the thing he'll tell the truth on? So I'm going to have to say that yes, he's guilty of this.
Emoluments clause violation? Nope, I wouldn't believe it. He hasn't divested, he still has his name on a bunch of buildings and it's becoming really clear that he's profiting off of the office, bigly. It's not a conspiracy, he's not even trying to hide it.
So it really depends upon which crime(s) he's charged with.
Integrity = something money can't buy no matter how much you have in the bank or how many tall buildings bear your name.

pyccku I think you hit the nail on the head regarding being scammed by Don the con. I can imagine my parents are in this exact position. They have always been a bit naive and always have had people take advantage of them. They've been scammed by family and business partners in the past. Now that they are elderly I am so worried that they will be scammed by a solicitor or a business. Unfortunately they fell for the biggest one of all. My Dad watched Fox News and thinks Trump is the greatest thing for the US. Unfortunately if Trump goes through with a lot of the changes he is threatening my parents will be hit hard. I just don't get it. I don't understand how they don't understand what is happening. I think maybe it's because they are getting old and their health is not well. I don't know. It's frustrating. But I'm assuming there are millions of other elderly people who are just as oblivious to Trump's game.

I wonder if he's found not guilty, will people believe it? Depends on how transparent the hearings are. If the Republicans walk out after close door hearings and say there is nothing there then no I won't believe it. For something as serious as a man colluding with a foreign government so he could win the presidential election ,Congress and Robert Mueller, need to prove to the American people, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that neither trump or any members of his campaign had any interaction with the Russians about winning the election. Breaking into the other Party's headquarters and then covering it up is no way as serious as a foreign government meddling in our presidential election with the help of the candidate and/or members of his staff.
