I'm already 3 episodes in. I love this show. This is going to be an intense season! I'm watching last season's final two episodes as refresher. I forgot a lot of stuff. God I love this show. Season 5 just ended in Australia on June 20th so Netflix picked it up really fast!!! |

What a season! What a season!!!!! I thought I would miss the characters who left the show but the writing for this season was brilliant and horrifying and WOW! Finished the last episode this morning. I was in shock and I'll wait for someone else to spoil the ending. My heart was pounding. I thought I knew who was wearing that hooded raincoat but I was totally in shock to see who it really was. Now I can't wait for next year. They set it up to be another amazing storyline to come. Such a great show.

Ok, I'll start. Ferguson is evil personified. When she was first released in the yard was so intense. And the end! I knew it wasn't Ally jumping in crate at last minute and kinda thought it might be Ferguson but I figured she would do something to Franky once they got to garage but when someone took the crate and drove it to a field and well.....omg...Will what did you do? I hope somehow Ferguson is saved. I love to hate her character. I honestly didn't miss Bea as much as I thought, but I'll sure miss the Freak.
I was so happy Doreen had a happy ending. Hated to see her character go and was so afraid the Freak was going to do something to stop her from being released. When her boyfriend and baby showed up I was so happy!
I love Franky and Liz, even Boomer grew on me. Hated Sonja. Started liking Vera more this season and was glad she finally got hip to Jake's tricks.
This series is right up there with Breaking Bad. Now we have to wait another year. That's the bad thing about binging. It's over so soon and now I need to find something else to binge. Finished OITNB and Handmaid's Tale, maybe I'll try Glow.
Oh and I really liked Kas too. Didn't like her at all last season and thought if we have her as top dog instead of Bea, show won't be nearly as good. I was so wrong. I liked the friendship chemistry between her and Will too. And well, I just adore Will.

Question - I'm confused about what happened between Liz and Sonja at the last. Did Sonja attempt to poison Liz and Liz caught on and switched cups? Or did Liz outright poison Sonja? And will Liz get away with it I wonder.

I think Liz poisoned Sonja, but I was confused, too. This season had so many twists and turns and absolute shocks. It was a great season. I don't think we've seen the last of the freak. I really hope they bring back Maxine. She was a great character.

And will Liz get away with it I wonder. I had to watch that a couple of times too. My take, Liz was the one to poison Sonja. When Boomer came up to get a cup, Liz offered hers with the drugs in it. It's when I saw Liz smashing the glass vile I knew Liz was the culprit. Remember when Liz found the drugs in the mulch? I bet that's when she took one and came up with idea. And just another thing to follow up on next season. Only thing that bothers me... how can Franky think she can prove her innocence by breaking out of prison. Even if she can prove it, they'll throw her back in for escaping alone! |

Will is such a good guy it wouldn't surprise me if he was overtaken with guilt and went back to save her. But he would have to do it without her seeing him or his vehicle. Might be problematic. And the way it stands Allie knows what happened and could possibly be angry enough to turn him in if Ferguson turns up alive. Either way Allie knows too much about Will. I can't wait to see where they take this scenario.

Like Bea - I think they will kill off Ferguson with this ending.
There really is little else they can do with her storyline, if they take her back the others will just kill her anyway and they were already saying after her trial she would be transferred somewhere else. No, I think that's it for the Freak.
I wasn't happy that Will did it though, he's always been one of the good guys who 'did the right thing' no matter what and I don't like it that everyone (except for Vera) is bad/corrupt.
I was impressed with the make-up department this season, all that trauma to her neck looked very real.
I liked the bit with Liz, I agree she absolutely did it on purpose, she knew Frankie was leaving and she thought Sonja killed the detective and was going to kill her - so she decided to get in first. If Sonja's dead, it's going to be hard to prove she did it, Boomer might suspect, but she won't have any evidence.
I thought the Frankie storyline was the weakest this season, she thinks that if she goes to Iman's apartment she'll find all the evidence she needs, but surely for someone who was killed in prison they have sent police around there anyway? plus wouldn't Frankie's lawyer be able to insist the police search Iman's place? Surely someone would have been there and found all the photos etc? We know Parisi was shot and it was a gun Frankie handled, but if Iman did it, that must have been a pretty inept investigation.
That moment where Ferguson killed Iman was so well done - Frankie standing there and it all sinking in, that was a good bit of acting.

I thought he pretended like she drugged him. She took him to the lake where she killed her husband and the police came and arrested her for her husbands murder?
I missed something, Sonia killed him?

We (the audience) don't really know exactly what happened to him, BUT Liz definitely thinks that Sonja killed him, because the other detective came in and told Liz he had 'vanished' and no-one has heard from him, plus Sonja told Liz she killed him. As far as the rest of us know - he's taken off with the money Sonja gave him...she was going to kill him and he woke up and hit her over the head, then she woke up near the road and walked home and the police arrived to arrest her. It seems most likely that he did a runner with the money and told the police about her husband before he left. But no-one has seen him or heard from him since, so they could easily do a flash back and tell a different version of the story where she wasn't knocked out and she did kill him, then fell asleep unaware that he had already informed on her. |

I don't really understand Sonja's motivation to be so mean to Liz, assuming the other detective is still alive - ultimately he played both Liz and Sonya, and you'd think she'd be a little more sympathetic towards Liz, plus she knew that he was going to lead Liz on - it was all her plan. But she has been tormenting Liz saying she killed Don.
I guess the point was to show that her character was just evil & scheming the whole time.
