I am up trying to stay awake. DD isn't home. She said at 9:00 she'd be home by 11:00. I tried texting her but no answer. I'm just trying not to worry.
What are you up to tonight?

It's only 9 pm here. Watching the rockies game with dh.
My boy turned 16 on Thursday and is just starting to drive on his own. It opens a whole new set of worries.

I'm here but I am on the left coast and it's still relatively early. I'm sitting here trying to tune out the LOUD Nascar race and the inevitable screaming every time someone crashes and burns. Ugh!

It's only 8:20pm here -- we are home after hiking around SF all day. Getting ready to drive up the coast tomorrow so relaxing right now with a glass of wine...

Almost 11:30 here. Just returned a few hours ago from a week of camping in Canada. I hope she gets home soon!

Would it be better to call if she is driving?

I'm here, it's only 8:30 on the west coast. Just finishing up a load of laundry and then going to settle in to watch a movie before bed.

We just watched fireworks from our front lawn. Pup was cowering under the dining table, but at least wasn't destructive. I stayed up half of last night with her due to thunder/lightning, glad all the noises have ceased (hopefully) for the night.

DD just texted and asked if she could spend the night with her best friend. They've had girl day all day as it's her birthday today. So at least I don't have to worry.

Finishing up the last two episodes of Orange is the New Black and hoping to have a good long sleep tonight. I went to a wedding last night and had to drive home for an hour so I was wired all night.

My DD has been off driving today and she had an accident last week. It is nerve wracking. Someone told me once that the sleepless nights when your kids are teenagers are much worse than when they are babies because at least when they are babies they are safe in your arms. My DD is going out after work, she's off at 10pm. It's going to be a long summer. Tonight I'll be up watching fireworks and then driving younger DDs friend home.

I'm up. I had a bad headache day so I slept on and off all day. That's never good because then I can't sleep well at night. Ugh. Anyway, I am 'sleuthing' and listening to the neighbors light off fireworks at nearly 1am. Oh well, they're having fun, hubby is out at the house in the country (fireworks do a number on his PTSD) and it's not bothering my dog so it's all good. Hope you all have a good night/morning.

I am up and not doing well. I am going to go to bed early tonight if I can fall asleep. I am going to Vancouver tomorrow to see Adam Lambert and Queen. I am really looking forward to it, but it's a 3 hour trip to get there. We are spending the night and coming home on Monday afternoon. We have reserved spots on the ferry as it is a long weekend for us.

I'm killing time until I have to wake DH up to take his medication. He pulled a muscle in his neck/shoulder area, pinched a nerve, and really messed himself up. To the point where he had to go to the urgent care clinic early this morning. He's pretty miserable, having to sleep sitting up with a travel neck pillow because laying down hurts too much.

I have walked a mile in your shoes when my kids were teens. My mind would go to the darkest spaces, I just couldn't help it. Now my #2 DD is dealing with her oldest 2 teens driving. The other day she told me she understands how I felt now. Have a good nice sleep!! Teens are not for wimps.

Well, it's Sunday morning and I'm just sipping coffee, but... I had to read through the thread to be sure the daughter was accounted for! Glad to hear it.
My youngest is staying with a cousin at his grandmother's lake house for a few days. No big deal, except this summer they are both driving age. It adds a whole new element to worry about your kids. Even though I've been through this same phase with his three older brothers, it's still hard.

11am Sunday morning here - I completely get worrying about your child when they are driving. DS1 had me up worrying all night Friday night. I thought it would get a bit easier as he had his license for longer but it hasn't really.

I'm glad that your dd is safe. It only gets harder as they get older. It was much easier when the biggest problem was keeping them from sticking keys in a light socket. Though does anyone remember thinking, "this is so hard. I can't wait until they're older"?

LOL! We just finished the last two episodes of Orange is the New Black tonight too! It was a disappointing season wasn't it? I liked the last episode and I'm so glad they featured Boo and her humor. Wentworth had a much better season, imho.

Wentworth had a much better season, imho. Yes. I can't tell you how many times dh and I wondered out loud if Orange had "jumped the shark" as we watched this season. I enjoyed the flashbacks, as always, but there were so few of them this season and the storyline was simply unbelievable most of the time. The interchanges between Nicky and Lorna were great in the last episode - Nicky came through.

Nicky and Lorna are such fun characters. Uzo Aduba is a great actress. She stole some of the season w/her brilliant acting.
