I ordered several dies from different "stores" on AliExpress. I ordered them on 07/06/2017, received my first one yesterday. So excited. Thanks again to everyone who enabled me.

So, I have finally had a look at alliexpress..... I have never bought enamel dots before as they are very expensive here but now I can see lots and lots and all in different colours- AND free shipping! Before I go crazy and order many, many of them, has anybody bought them? I realise they won't be as good quality as standard ones but as long as they don't fall apart or break I may have to buy some! I would love to hear about enamel dots too.
I just got another die delivery yesterday. So excited. I was ready to sit and wait for a month. This is fun!!!

Corinne I ordered four sheets, two of which include rows of a semi-translucent white with glitter, and I can already tell they're going to turn yellowy. I'll just use them on a page where that won't matter. The colored ones, on the other hand, seem fine. I wish they were just a bit flatter, but overall I'm satisfied.

Several of the dies I received are not cutting all the way through. I have added shims of cardstock to them (and the Cuttlebug) and still not able to cut through. Granted I paid a dollar for some of these dies, but I'm disappointed that they aren't working. Is it worth it to send them back?
Trish
I have had my Cuttlebug for about 9 years, do you think it is "too old"? Should I get a different one?

Trish I have had my Cuttlebug for about 9 years, do you think it is "too old"? Should I get a different one? I doubt it's your machine. My Cuttlebug is at least that old and has worn out warped cutting plates, but she's a workhorse. I didn't think one of my Aliexpress dies was cutting all the way through, then I realized it was embossing. It's a train die and it embosses the windows instead of cutting them out. There wasn't a cut sample in the listing, but when I went back and looked at it it said cut/emboss. Any chance yours are embossing too? Do you have a metal shim? I don't even try to cut thin dies without mine. Did you try cutting it, turning it 1/4 are running it back through? It sucks you're disappointed. I'm still waiting on 3 more, but I'm really happy with all my new dies that I really didn't need

Well crap... that's one of the sets I'm still waiting to arrive. I'll let you know if mine cuts all the way through when it arrives.

I hope yours works. I mainly bought it for the heart and the splat. I'm not giving up on it yet.

Where should I get a metal shim from? I looked at Scrapbook Pal website, but they are listed as discontinued. They have a couple in stock, so could get one, but if it is being discontinued than maybe I shouldn't. Plus the size seemed really small.

pas2 Which cardstock did you find worked best? When I tested the dies I just used white Wal-Mart cardstock since it was handy. Should I use thicker cardstock? I ordered a metal shim yesterday, so I'll see how that works. Thanks.

I was using a mix of scraps so I can't help you out there but it was probably cheap cardstock from ACM or J's, not thick like Bazzill. I have a few dies that I need to buy a metal shim for too.

Would anyone be willing to cut out a couple of Baby Groots for me (I would reimburse you for your time/paper/postage)? I just found out a coworker is a Guardians fan and I'd like to make her a birthday card for her birthday next week. Obviously, ordering a die now would result in the die arriving in time for her birthday next year, lol. Please PM me if you can help. Thanks!
