I got one, too! Now, where to keep it .... counters are full, cupboards are full .... I think I'll have to get rid of some stuff to make room for this new little beauty!

I got rid of a crock pot (hardly ever used), a bread machine (almost never used), a ton of baking stuff (I almost never bake)... ended up with so much extra space that I bought a second Instant Pot! hahahaha

I've zoomed past the pot threads for a while now but after reading the link, it sounds amazing!! I want one. I'm wondering if my son could get a better deal though (he works at Kohl's and with his own discounts, he gets things for almost 50% off at times!). I'll wait...
I was thisclose to wanting the 4-in-1 air fryer, but this sounds so much better! Do you really cook meals quickly (or slowly, if you're using it as a slow cooker?)??

DH has been wanting one for ages but he refused to spend the money on it. That's one Christmas gift bought! Now I'll have to go through the recipe threads and print some out for him.

I was thisclose to wanting the 4-in-1 air fryer, but this sounds so much better! Do you really cook meals quickly (or slowly, if you're using it as a slow cooker?)?? Yes! Although... a recipe that says "5 minutes" is talking only about the actual cook time. There is time that it takes the pot to come up to pressure and time afterwards for the pressure to drop if you're letting it drop naturally. But the coming-up-to-pressure time is the same thing as waiting for water to boil on your stove or waiting for the oven to heat up. However, the pressure cooker is better because you've already put your food in. So rather than stand around waiting for that oven to heat up so you can put your food in you've just put it all in the pressure cooker, pushed the button, and now you're in the other room playing with your kid or helping with homework or watching the news or drinking wine out on the deck. Then when it beeps you can just let it sit for the pressure to come down. No babysitting. No accidentally burned rice. No over-baked banana bread. No stirring to keep something from scorching. etc. And for many things yes it is much faster. Pork roast for shredding for bbq -- 10 hours in my crock pot, 1 hour in the pressure cooker. Steel cut oats -- stirring constantly at the stove for 20 minutes or so, 10 minutes in the pressure cooker Dried beans -- soak overnight then however many hours they take, less than 1 hour in the pressure cooker, no soaking Hard boiled eggs -- 10 minutes (??) on the stove and don't lose track of time, 2 minutes in the pressure cooker plus natural pressure release (NPR) Sweet potato cut into chunks -- no idea on the stove because I never cooked them, 2 minutes in the pressure cooker Rice -- 20 minutes or so on the stove, 4 minutes in the pressure cooker Those are just a few things off the top of my head. Like I said, the best thing is that you don't have to babysit it. No stirring or watching or timing. And no heating up your kitchen!

Oh great. elaine the enabler is at it, again. BTW-my IP was the best decision I've made in a long time. I'm grateful to Elaine for convincing me to buy one. It makes cooking so easy and on hot days it saves your house from the heat of using your stove.

I bought another one today too, I figured I could use the bigger one at home and the smaller one at the lake cabin. Question for elaine or anyone who already owns the 8 qt size, can you make a bigger cheesecake in it than you can in the 6 qt one? I bought a small springform pan for the small one, but man that looks really little for a cheesecake!

I think you maybe go up 1", depending on the type of pan you are using - springform's latch takes up space. Not a huge increase in size. It really only makes a 4-6 serving cheesecake.

I have some regular springform pans, I think 8" and 10" and a 7" Fat Daddio pan that doesn't have the latches but the bottom pushes out. It just barely fits inside the 6 qt IP.

Was this just for one day? Yes - it was a Prime Day special. Chances are the next big sale will be on Black Friday.

If you see a special before then could you message me? Definitely! You can also set up a camelcamelcamel alert too. I'd set it for $75 for the 6 quart and $95 for the 8 quart 7-in-1's.

After seeing the Instant Pot on sale on Amazon Prime yesterday I finally bit the bullet and bought one. I have a crockpot at home that I love and use often but I have never used the IP or any kind of pressure cooker. Where do I go to find recipes and figure out how to use this thing? Can anyone point me in the direction of your favorite Facebook page or blog that you get good recipes from?
Thank you!!

I don't actually have Prime but my son does. So which one do I need. It's just the two of us but I like to make soups and such in large batches and freeze.
