So how many days late have you been to have a baby? Or early? I was an early baby with a heart condition. so I came in at 5 1/2 lbs. My sisters we are all time themselves, and my one sister is the only girl so far to have babies and on time, except this newest addition as I posted about in the other thread. She was 9 nine days. If she hadn't had by thurs they were going to induce. I don't have kids so I don't know what the normal for that is. How long do they let you go? Is it true the longer they stay the better or bigger? Sorry if these things seem silly but i don't know much in this department. I just love having my neices and nephews, and being able to give them back.LOL. It was hard in the beginning because I couldn't have kids, but now I'm just at the stage were we can just love them. Dh and I very close to them all. I just hate being far away now. That's been the hard part. My other cousin who had her baby today this was her due date. So it's pretty cool. My brain is everywhere today.

I had three pregnancies and all three were born before 7 months and all were under 5 lbs. I seriously cannot imagine being pregnant longer than 7 months - and the horror!- of having a baby that was over 7lbs.
I volunteer with an organization that deals with mothers and pregnancy's and I have never seen a dr let a mom go longer than 10 days past their due date.

Both of mine were late. One was 14 days late and one was 7 days late. I was miserable.

My cousin's GF has just given birth. Her due date was 27 June so she was two weeks overdue.

my oldest was 2 days before his due date, the girls were both 3 days before theirs.
but due dates are estimates and ontime means that they came within 2 weeks before or after the due date. Early than 2 weeks early (before 38 weeks) they are premature and usually a doctor won't let them stay in past 2 weeks after the due date (past 42 weeks) without inducing or a c-section because post-maturity (after 42 weeks) increases risks as well (fetal distress and still birth both increase)

Two weeks early with both. I had planned to start my leave a few weeks before my first was due. I walked into work on my last day, took off my coat, and had my first contraction.

Somewhere around my 32nd week I started measuring 10 weeks bigger than what I was supposed to. (I was underweight everywhere else due to severe morning sickness). I was so miserable that I couldn't fathom going to term let alone over. I don't know how moms of multiples manage.

First 2 were about 2 weeks early, 3rd was 1 day late; I was induced . That was the easiest delivery of all three.

12 days late with my first. About a week late with my 2nd, can't remember my exact due date. My sister was late with both of hers. Now, around here, they seem to book to induce you one week from your due date.

Fortunately all 3 of mine came a few days before the due date. I feel for those who have to go beyond the due date. Even though it is just an estimate I think you are thinking "I will have my baby in my arms by the due date"!

My son was 9 days overdue and they were threatening Induction. My daughter is a different story because per my math (which can be sketchy) she was due end of January, per the docs and their math, she was due sometime in February. I won...the night before the Super Bowl she decided it was her turn. They said she was 2 weeks early but at 8 pounds 11 oz...I don't think so. No GD either, just a well cooked baby

my first was 2 weeks overdue.. spent the night before he was born at an IRS seminar (overseas) and then 2 hours in taxi line.. my dh was concerned.. but with no cell phones, no way to contact him. 9 lbs, 5 oz. second pregnancy.. went 40 weeks with twins.. 7 lbs, 15 oz and 7 lbs, 1 oz. delivered naturally..
I was waddling at the end.. but could still get around and walk and stuff. was hungry constantly.

First one was right on time, second one was 3-1/4 hours past the deadline [not bad], but the third was 8 days late. The older two would come home from school and say "Are you still here?" Gee, I love you, too.

One kids was three days late and the other was a week late and induced. They were 9 and 10 pounds. In Colorado, the average is 2 weeks early and lower birth weight (about 5 pounds). Ha. I was above average.

I had my oldest 2 weeks late. They had to induce because the amniotic fluid was starting to diminish. I had not started to dilate, no contractions or anything, he was happy where he was apparently. He was 7 lbs 10 oz 20 inches long. So not a huge baby.
Baby boy #2 was born on his due date. I was having contractions pretty steadily for about 2 days but was not dilating. The babies heart rate was starting to fluctuate a bit so they decided to induce him. He was 9 lbs 1oz and 20 1/2 inches long. I would hate to see how much he weighed had I gone 2 weeks late like I did with ODS.
With the oldest from beginning to end labor was about 26 hours. With the youngest DH likes to tell everyone that I was only in labor for 6 hours. Yes...from the time they induced until I had him was 6 hours, he seems to forget the 2 days of contractions I had prior to that..LOL.

My son was born exactly when I said he would be born. Right down to the minute.
My daughter was 4 days early. It was a horrible experience. She decided she didn't want to come out and pushed herself back in and then spread out her knees and elbows to wedge herself in. Yup. Not good.
When I got her out, they rushed her for tests. She had a perfect Apgar score and was sucking one thumb and then the other. Switching them back and forth. The doctor laughed and said we were in for with this girl.

Our first was induced when I was ten days overdue and weighed 7lbs 6 oz. Very hard delivery with me having allergic reaction to the prostaglandin gel they used.
Our second/last was born day after due date, 7 lbs. 13 oz. I had been on bedrest from weeks 31-38 because I was 30% effaced and I had 30 or more Braxton Hicks contractions daily for the last few weeks. By the time I walked into the hospital I was 7 cm dilated and she was born an hour later.

I have a friend with three kids, two of which came on their exact due dates. I have hard that having a baby on due date happens only 4% of the time...

Baby #1--one week late
Baby #2--ten days late, induced
Babies 3/4--born on their due date (at 15 pounds 15 ounces combined, yay, ouch)
Baby #5--ten days late, induced
Baby #6--four days late
I am not very big, and let me tell you, I have some serious wrinkled stomach skin from those kids.
