I have been thinking about subbing to a kit again. I have some scrap retreats coming up. I used to subscribe to Scraptastic and miss a kit club. I have been going back and forth between Felicity Jane and Hip Kit but I would want all of the add on's with HK. That would be about $100 a month. Yikes! Granted, I do have a scrap room full of supplies but the FJ kits are so gorgeous. We do not have a LSS that I can buy from and I loathe shopping multiple websites just to get one entire collection or things that I want. Shipping charges add up. I think I am trying to talk myself into this as I type this post. Does anyone sub to FJ? Do you love the kits? Does anyone have a Felicity Jane coupon code? Thanks!

I sub
I have loved at least half the kits this year and liked the rest.
The kits are good quality and lovely to work with

I subscribe, too. I love the quality of her paper. I love that the kits are not super large.
The color palettes often coordinate between months, so I put all my papers from various kits together in one Iris box and the embellishments in another box. I find the kits easier to use, rather than dig through multiple boxes.

I've been a subscriber of hers from the beginning and I have to admit, I feel like they were better the first 6 months. A lot of the little details are no longer included. She used to have little pillow boxes with fun things included like sequins, little tags, paper confetti, things like that and she no longer includes those. It kind of bums me out. I feel like she is getting more mainstream which is disappointing. Plus she started having all of her kids designed around these little paper dolls and I have absolutely no use for those. I don't like them at all.

I just bought a couple of one offs from them so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. First off, papers are gorgeous and good Quality and I really like the embellishments which are cute and easy to use. I don't care for having to cut out my stickers/washi tape. Not sure if this is a normal thing but when I got my kits that's what it was, I don't like it and feel like I shouldn't have to. Secondly, I don't like getting solid colored papers instead of cardstock. I want thick textured cardstock for my layout bases.

I only buy occasionally as well and I agree - I hate fussy cutting. But happily, she has moved away from the cut apart sheets and now you get real die cuts.

I don't have ny use for the girls either no I do think it's not the same standard as when I joined, although there have been major improvements too, like ephemera packs instead of sheets you cut your self which I never used and also pl cards instead of a cut apart sheet

I have bought the occasional kit and also the extra paper once or twice. I agree the paper is a nice quality and usually usable designs but the kits are too samey for me to sub - including the stamps which are a big part of the cost. They are all words and small images. How about some variety - larger layering images, backgrounds etc. Also, I agree with others about the introduction of the doll each month. IMO it's just a bit weird.

I love FJ. It is exactly my style so I'm able to use almost everything in the kit. There are things I don't like/use but imo that's the case with all kit clubs. I especially love the patterned papers so I usually buy an extra pack (or two!).
You can always buy a kit and then decide to sub. It's only $5 more. Look for unboxing videos of past kits to see if you would really like to get one each month. If you follow them on Instagram you will see the occasional coupon. She just had one a few days ago so I'm not sure when the next will be.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I think the continuity between the kits would be helpful to me since I am a slow poke these days. There have been HK's that I knew I would not use up. Things not to my taste. The cost would add up too since I always want it all. I did not realize that the solid sheets were not cardstock. Interesting.....
I may just give it a go now since there is no more fussy cutting of the die cuts. I do like that there are printable's for kits that I can buy with my Silhouette store subscription. Thanks again!
Edit- do you get the cut files and printable's for free with a subscription?

I do love the FJ kit. I've subscribed for about a year. I do like that they are usable between months. I do wish they had an option with no stamp, because I am not much of stamper. I also wish she had more digital options (like how Ali Edwards offers a digital version of her Story Kits). I do all my journaling on the computer (my handwriting is terrible). She does often include a digital cut file. I'm not sure how that compares to what you can buy since I don't have a Silhouette.
I kick around HK every once in a while but I don't think I'd use most of it. What I love about FJ is how they are so easy to use and because everything coordinates beautifully, they are easy to take when I travel. I don't feel like HK always goes together but I am try buying one to see if I like it.
The girls are a little odd. I stuck one in a Traveler's Notebook layout but I'm not sure what I'll do with the rest. I am loving the die-cuts and tiny word stickers. I hope she keeps that up.
I hope you love FJ!

I also like the acrylic words, although I imagine some scrappers don't like how thick they are.

I always said I would never stop subscribing to the Felicity Jane kit. And I have no plans to unsubscribe. That said, I do miss some of the more dimensional embellishments. I also find that I am not using the stamp sets as much as I would like.
However, I love the papers and the fact that the kits mix and match so nicely. I also like that we are getting diecut assortments instead of the sticker sheets that we had to cut out ourselves.
I do wish the stamps would include stamps in larger sizes. I would also love to see one kit a year designed by someone else just to keep things fresh.

tinksmommy Yes, the printables and cut files are free every month, with your subscription. I am sorry to ask but how do you receive them? I did not place them in my cart at checkout. Scraptastic used to allow you access to their files for free when a member logged in. Thanks so much. My kit is on it's way!

I've been subscribing since 2015, so I have a lot.

I dont sub anywhere since I have plenty of stuff I need to use up. However this thread made me curious so I checked out the website. I really do like the style and I may just cave a buy a kit or two at some point.

I really do like the style and I may just cave a buy a kit or two at some point. I have been going back and forth on it, too. I have a scrap loft filled with supplies but there is something about these kits. I watch some of the design team members or subscribers on You Tube and their layouts are lovely. My biggest challenge is putting supplies together. I have a crop day this month and a retreat weekend in September so the kits will be going with me.

Well some people must really be loving the girls, because I saw on IG that she is turning them into stamps to put in the shop.

I subbed to FJ until my husband was unemployed and we had to cut back. I went back and purchased the ones I missed, so I have all the ones from this year.
I don't mind the dolls and I feel like they are only a small part of each kit.
But I just saw on instagram that scrapbook.com will be carrying FJ soon, so I wonder if she's going to continue with a kit club and if she will still have exclusive products?

I'm giving it one more month and then if there's a doll of any sort I'm out.
I do not like the dolls.
I love the puffy letter stickers.

I think it's cute to name the kits and have the little drawing and bio as marketing but, yeah, I do not need a cut out or stamp of the doll. I do think a great thing about the kits is that they all have a consistent feel to them - so you can mix kits easily - and they don't have too much themey or cutesy stuff. So the layouts and such that you make with them are more individual and personal - like I don't want to make a layout with, for example, Amy Tangerine's handwriting and doodles and icons all over it, you know what I mean?

I don't get the thing with the dolls either unless it's because The Planner Society Girls are such a huge deal. And now I see that FJ is releasing the girls as stamps like TPS, too. But I sure LOVE the FJ paper and ephemera.

Exactly how I feel. I was torn between FJ and HK but am so glad I went with FJ. The July HK has way too many things that I would never use like too retro or themey. I do love Irit's watercolor papers tho.
