that's funny because i thought it was a steal at that size. The rooms don't really look all that big to me. I think they've included their unfinished basement in the total square footage. I guess I just expected Provo, Utah to be a lot less expensive.

I think they've included the basement, too, and a quick look at what else I can buy for that amount in Provo tells me they are overpriced.

The house is out of place for the neighborhood, sits too high above the others, poorly designed and not finished. There is no way they will get that kind of $ for their design messes. If someone is going to spend that kind of $, they would want something that is finished and a better design. Homes in the area where Fox Hill is located go for around the $500,000.00 to $700,000.00
The problem is that that Nielson's have been living beyond their means for a number of years. Her speaking engagements have all but dried up - with her claiming she doesn't like to talk. Never changed her message. Everyone around has heard of her story. She has been milking her accident for 9 years now. Provo is kind of tired of her and her wanting "freebies" and "special arrangements" all the time (ie. special showings of movies for her family so she doesn't have to deal with people staring at her scars).
She is in for a huge awakening in NM. She has taken her children all out of school on the second day to "celebrate that God saved her" NM isn't going to cater to her whims.

With the exception of the ballusters, the treatment above the fireplace, and the kitchen, I really love the downstairs. I like the curb appeal, the yard, the pool, the views.
I hate all of the upstairs. I hate the "cute" nooks and built ins--they're too fussy and not at all practical. And I'd bump my head all over that dang house.
I do love that the master has a fireplace.

I had a completely different NieNie in my head until I read about the kids and drama. I kept wondering when Greg, NeNe's DH went into cattle/farming. THEN I realized ohhhhh, not the RHOA NeNe. I finally caught the spelling.
Nothing to say about house as I am now off to look.

Gorgeous views!! But I find myself wondering where the rest of the 6400 square feet are. most of the spaces shown in the pictures are pretty tight-looking.

Heh That's the NieNie snark I was hoping for. She was roasted and toasted on the old board, though I can't really remember what for other than milking that accident for everything possible. That and having a boring mommy blog. The house and decor aren't really my style but I'd suffer with it for those windows and views. I particularly hate the boulders stacked up in front.

One might even say a bit McMansion. Welcome to Utah. Big families; big homes. At least most of the space is actually used! Not for the area (I think anyway). I should ask some family who live in the area. That is what I pay for a $210k home in Nebraska. Stacy Utah is second lowest in the nation per pupil in spending.

I live in the area, and actually our city's median price is higher than Provo, my house is the same size (which yes, includes the basement--but, mine is finished with a full 2 bedroom apartment down there), a pool, also great views...and I will be listing my house soon....but, nowhere near that price!! I wish! It is high, but, I wish her well! Erin

I was wondering if this was the same person I remember reading so many threads about on the old board. Interesting property. The views are amazing! But I agree with a post above about the odd rooms and the "4 poster" bed that is under the slanted ceiling and they had to chop off the 2 posts on the headboard....that just looks silly. And the kitchen is small for 6,000 sf I think. So the basement is unfinished? All the kiddos sleep together in one bunk room? So they must still be very young. Once hormones start running amok, that won't work. I'd love to see a detailed floor plan so I can figure out the placement in my head. And I also agree with a previous post that I'd not want to live where a heated driveway is a sales point. I didn't even know that was a thing!
But thanks for posting this. I enjoy looking at interesting homes for sale.

Are there stairs going down under the pool? I've never seen that before. The pool controls and filter/heater, etc. will be placed down there. I figured it was something like that. It seems a little hazardous, but maybe it has a cover/door of some sort?

and I will be listing my house soon Are you moving to Arizona? No. That job opportunity fell through. Worked out, though. We were able to use it to negotiate a better package for my DH at his current job. :-) We have had a building lot for 4 years now. We've just been dragging our feet about building new. My mother has been living with us for 5 years, since my dad passed suddenly, and it is time to build her an above-the-ground apartment with a better craft/quilting area. But, I am dying at the new build prices. DYING!! It is truly ridiculous... Erin

I'm way North of you and have thought about building in the next few years or moving farther South where we can't afford to build, would have to buy older, but there's much more to do.

Wonder why she is selling, and where she is going? I'm just nosy - or curious, to put it in more polite terms! They're moving to his family's ranch in New Mexico. Her DH had been going back and forth between the ranch and Fox Hill for a while. I think he's working on raising beef cattle. Word is she'd also like to open a healthy/vegetarian restaurant in the nearby town. So, they will be raising beef cattle on one hand....and promoting vegetarianism on the other? 😂😂

I guess I just expected Provo, Utah to be a lot less expensive. it's just hard for my mind to break out of California housing price. i forget how much more house you get for your money when you step outside of california. LOL what what you guys have said, i guess she is overpriced.

Tiny house for supposedly 6000+ square feet. Here, unfinished basement and garage aren't included in square footage. There is no way a 6000+ sq ft house here would have less than 5 bedrooms. I'd also expect something like a theater in the basement.
I live where property is at a premium and I wouldn't pay more than $650K for that in our market.

I love the house, but wow, it's very pricey, even, I think, for Provo.

There are parts of it I really like and parts of it I don't. But if I were wealthy enough to buy it I could afford to change the parts I don't like . For the price though, I really think the pool should be enclosed so it could be used year-round.

Isn't there supposed to be a fence around a pool? Or is that a law that varies by state?

It's a nice house, but the layout is a little weird. Why are the beds in a corner or in weird places? I guess for selling it makes the rooms look bigger. LIke the one room that has the bed up against the window instead of along the other wall? I like stairs but not the style of the banisster. No idea who the people are though? But I do know the area and have some family near there.

Oh crap! I just saw the "median list price" $480,000
I had to go back and see the actual price!!! I wondered why y'all thought it was priced so high.

There are parts of the house that I really love, and then parts where I say "WTF??" For that price, I'd build to my own desires.

Are those actually swings in picture no. 16?! I like the downstairs overall. Very open, love all those windows. The upstairs - Meh! I don't like all those nooks and crannies. Also, too many built-ins.

Are the built ins still popular? I can remember going to a Parade of Homes thing and that was the trend. Like a little built in by the stairs or the kids rooms...

I don't really like the house - I don't like all the cement around it (why aren't those pavers or a wood deck around the house?)
I don't like the layout or the high ceilings in the entry and living room, I hate all the slanted ceilings upstairs.
I do like the dining room and the pool.
I don't get the 6,000 square feet - with only 4 bedrooms where is all the space?? I would never need that much space.
Around here that house would be about $4-5 million but it does seem expensive for Utah...
