I would go with coincidence personally, and maybe trying to keep it from feeling so similar year to year (seems like I remember hearing a lot of grumbling about that last year). But there have been several posts on IG that seem to hint at the wedding being in the near future. I do not claim to be a friend of Ali's by any means, after meeting her one time, but I am very happy for them. Aaron came to Story Camp and was just as personable, genuine and nice as I expected from "seeing" him on social media. He certainly didn't have to come or spend hours engaging in real conversations with us, so it certainly felt like he really wanted to be there to support her. You could just really tell how great they are together. In this day and age of edited/curated social media it made me feel good to know that they were just as sweet as I pictured. (And the same could be said for Katie and her husband Peter. I know people appreciate that she does pop in around here from time to time and is gracious and helpful. She truly is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet and the responses you get are not just for the sake of customer service, she is the real deal 😉). That’s good to know That she is the real deal. You never can really tell with many.

Thanks so much! I really liked this stamp but didn't want to order the kit.

I noticed that Hip Kit's December Documented kit is out. The albums are Studio Calico Handbooks, no note about ring configuration or page protectors. ![](https://hipkitblog.files.wordpress.com/2017/10/dec-documented-kit-01.png?w=620) ![](https://hipkitblog.files.wordpress.com/2017/10/dec-documented-album-red.png?w=620)

That album looks like a Sevenpaper album judging by the metal corners and faux leather (I don't recall an SC exclusive handbook with those two features) which would make it a 4 hole set up like the original handbooks. If so, I wonder if they snagged a lot of those in a closeout. Finding additional pages wouldn't be easy though (if there weren't enough of the right config's included).
The kit as whole isn't my thing. I wouldn't use a lot of the products, but those journal cards are really nice. Wonder who designed those?

I thought the video sad it was a two hole setup. Isn't that the same as BH and SS?

For anyone wondering: - Echo Park buffalo plaid + black and white check albums from this year's 'Twas The Night Before Christmas collection (included in their December Days kit) are the standard universal 2-ring system - Hip Kit's December Documented offers indeed (well spotted, AmandaA !) the SevenPaper 6x8 red faux leather album. Those are the old SC 4-ring system. Good luck finding a variety of those PPs! The faux leather 6x8 albums are still on clearance in Europe and nobody's buying because the stores are out of PPs. mom Ali's been posting wedding prep IG stories over the past few weeks. She was even seen ordering her flowers for what she called a "small affair" wedding and mentioned it was coming up real soon. I didn't really pay attention (because I'm not particularly interested) but I'm pretty sure it's happening before the end of the year.

I guess I didn't realize what was happening when I would scroll through and see the photos. I went and looked yesterday and found the photos. Good for her. She deserves to be happy.

I actually saw someone on that album post say “Embrace the uniqueness #unique #everyonewillwantone” OMG. Are they being serious!? Words fail me.

I had that card in my box but didn't think a thing about it and threw it away. Why would I want to keep it? Some people want to use it in their albums. That's not my thing, so I'm willing to pass it on. No interest in putting a card like that in my album.

Hmm does the Hip Kit kit include page protectors? Does anyone know? From their blog post about their December Documented kit, the album is actually optional (aqua, red or gold) and not included in the kit. Comes just as it is, no extra PPs (there are some included in the album as they were sold by SevenPaper/SC but nowhere near enough to complete it). $14.95 for an album that stores are desperate to unload without the possibility of buying PPs is a bit rich... ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png)

I always just punch new holes for my page protectors. I could care less if there's an extra hole in there. No one notices but me. So I can use any 6 by 8 in my albums and it doesn't matter about the brand. I just punch the holes where they need to be.

With so many of the brands having their own personal ring system I’d find sticking to one company for album/pages too limiting. Not to mention I have very little brand loyalty and you can bet I’ll buy the cheapest available regardless of who made it. ETA: obviously if there are quality issues with a cheaper brand then that’s a different thing but otherwise, I really couldn’t care less

Thanks sleepingbooty . Ugh that's hopeless if there's no way of getting more page protectors. I have several packs of the old SC 4 ring page protectors- different kinds. I can part with a few. I am fine with $8 per set (I think half of the original cost) plus shipping (will be first class, but I have to weigh it) I have 3 complete sets (of the packages listed below) of the following: all are new in package sets of 6 1 single pocket 6x8 1 4 pocket 3x4 1 3 pocket (2 3x4 and 1 4x6) 1 special sizes 5 pocket and 6 pocket (shown below) ![](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61TjkMZIlJL._SL1200_.jpg)

I actually have a couple of handbook albums so not seriously considering it but it just seems like a dumb idea to sell albums it's difficult to get the protectors for.

I wouldn't have known about the 4-hole SC Handbook pp issue. I wonder why HipKit chose to go with that? I noticed that starting today through December 15th Pretty Little Studio is having a 50% off sale on one of their collections from last year - Tinsel Town Christmas and if you look under the sale tab, the Holly Jolly collection is also on sale. I really like all the bits and pieces that come with their collections and ended up ordering some.

Thank you for the heads up about the faulty page protectors by the way, just checked mine and they're not right. Time for a chat with customer services...

I received my AE DD box of stuff this past Saturday and everything was really nice. I was afraid my white 6x8 album would be upside down, but it was not. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) I did start a convo after opening for the 3x4 pp - thanks for sharing that info here! The Paislee Press kit is absolutely gorgeous! I also loved all the other shop items I purchased - especially the rubber pieces with words. I was fortunate that someone sold an AE 2017 DD main kit in a FB group - it was partial and only missing some journal cards, 1/2 the papers, the felt hearts, acrylic white stars and 4x6 chipboard. Everything else in the box, unopened for $25 shipped. I received that also, and love it all. I did purchase a few shop items from FJ and an album too for a later date. I hope to play around with it and for the first time, maybe actually do some foundation pages this year.

Anyone considering the old 4 hole studio calico/seven paper page protectors... I found that those page protectors really suck. They are semi-cloudy, the pockets are too big so cards are swimming and they have lots of extra space by the holes with branding of "studio calico" written on each one. I have some old albums with this configuration and the protectors to go with them sitting in my stash and I want to use them, but I just can't bring myself to use such awful page protectors.
If you really like the album, I would suggest punching your own holes in nicer quality page protectors.
