I'm working on my 2016 album and the album itself broke. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg) The bar of D-rings came off its weld to the spine at the top. Does anyone know if this can be fixed? It's last year's white album with gold dots. I love that album and know it's sold out so I'd like to fix it if I could. Any ideas?

Is it possible to pry out the existing rivet that's broken off? If so you could buy new binder rivets and a rivet setting tool to refasten the top. (kind of like setting an eyelet). Other option might be to try and glue the top part down again? Binder rivets Riveting tool SaveSave

Still waiting for my page replacements from Ali. I got the shipping notice 6 days ago but they still haven't left the warehouse.

As I was doing that, I "loosened" the rivet and was able to push it further in, catching the ring spine. I'm not sure if it will stand up to wear and tear, but if it doesn't my next step will be to replace the rivets altogether. Thanks again!

So the page protector issue with the AE Albums — is it that the 3x4 cards don’t fit at all or are really tight and seem smaller on one side than the other? Just finally opened my album (after packing it up Fira big move). Thanks for the info!

Here's some December Daily Inspiration from the Echo Park blog linkReally cute! Does anyone own these products or has anyone seen them in person and can remember if the background is truly white as it appears in these photos or if it's cream/off-white? I'm never certain with EP whether it will be really white or cream. TIA.

I'm never certain with EP whether it will be really white or cream. TIA. I seem to remember it's close-to-white-but-not-quite, if you know what I mean. Not cream, not your typical heavy off-white either, somewhere in between white and off-white. Definitely not on MME's level of surprise-it-isn't-white-unlike-our-digi-mockup-photos! I think it'd blend in just fine with true white. ETA: the video below ought to give you a good idea, carolynhasacat ...

It's no secret I love Brandi Kincaid, but this Merry Making thing she just came out with is totally my jam and seems like you guys might enjoy it too since her WITL version through Ali was super popular: the-shiny-bits.myshopify.com/I won't use it daily, but I'm thinking weekly in my DD would work out and have me document some stuff I might've otherwise skipped.

I love her little prompt sheets. I've used them for letter starters too -- when I don't know where to start with snail mail I just fill out one and pop a blank one in with the mail for the other person to use if they want to. It's really fun. I've used them for half-assed WITL in my journal too. I've never quite managed to put aside the words like she does when she staples little ephemera pieces in as answers, but I think it's a really neat idea. I have no idea what I might be Grinching ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/pd7N3dneptLj3pbgz5Gd.jpg) but I agree - I'll find a use for a few of these in my December album too.

Hey what is everyone using for their cameras? Strictly your phone's or do you dig out the "real camera"? I'm trying to decide if I want to put in the effort with the big it or just go easy and simple with my phone.

My big camera will be out for most of the month. I already do a daily photo with my big camera and I like the quality so much more.

I'll use both. I tend to leave my camera out for the month so it's easy to grab but have no problem including phone photos if that's all I've got.

Most pictures in album though will be taken with my Canon.

I use my phone exclusively, but it's a 7plus so the quality is pretty good, especially when you shrink those pics down to 3 x 4! And I'm in love with portrait mode.
I found years ago that taking my DSLR with me on vacation led to angst and annoyance with worrying about having it, lugging it and potentially going missing. Better to have happy iPhone pictures than none in my case.
Phone for me is better for spontaneity, but if I were to try to capture a cool tree shot, I would consider the bigger camera.

Hey what is everyone using for their cameras? Strictly your phone's or do you dig out the "real camera"? I'm trying to decide if I want to put in the effort with the big it or just go easy and simple with my phone. Big camera (Canon 7D) whenever possible. The quality just can't be beat. I love crisp and vibrant photos. And I really like enlarging photos to 6x8.5 to fit a full page protector. Last Christmas my DH gave me a Canon 24mm f/2.8 lens and it will be perfect for this project because it's so lightweight I will use some phone photos but honestly they aren't my favorite. Especially indoor or dark settings which most December photos are. Phone photos look fine on the device or IG but to print them, they are so grainy and blurry from camera shake that I have to edit them a lot. Phone photos are fine for my regular PL because they are mostly daytime/outdoors.

Phone + my beloved Pentax. The saying goes that the best camera is the one you have on you and it's true. A lot of my December-documenting happens outside the home so I just go with the flow.
The most important part for me is the clean-up and adjusting of the photos afterwards. That's where the magic happens and the photos match (almost) seamlessly throughout the entire album no matter which device I used to take them. Oh, Photoshop, how would I live without you?

I have a small house so it was great for shooting my kids indoors. I had a nifty fifty and it always seemed hard to shoot them and get everything in the frame. I currently use a 24 on a full frame camera and it is so beautifully wide. I can have one hand on my naughty toddler and get a picture before she jumps off the counter and hurts herself. If you are looking for a little more room in your frame for sure get the 24. Also the price can’t be beat on that one.

ecvnj58 I think I will add it to my list! Thanks for taking the time to answer me! mom I agree with everything that ecvnj58 said about the pancake 24mm my dSLR is a crop body so I really love this wider lens for shooting indoors. I have a 28-75mm f2.8 that used to be my go to for indoors because of the wide angle but this pancake is so light that it's been the primary lens on my camera lately. It's great for walking around the city too.

mom I got the www.amazon.com/Tamron-28-75mm-Aspherical-Digital-A09NII/dp/B001955P8W/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1512090650&sr=8-4&keywords=tamron+2.8+28-75mm for my dSLR when we went to Disney World because I normally shoot with my 50mm but knew that for some photos I'd want the wider angle but wouldn't have the room to wiggle. It's a BEAST, that's my nickname for it as well, but I love it. It's definitely super heavy to lug around and more expensive, but I kept it on for the duration of our visit and barely missed my 50mm. I will swap between them and my Instax and my phone for DD documenting, but carrying my big camera around is always worth it for me. I totally get it being a hassle. My first day of DD documenting was this past Saturday and the freaking camera lens jostled and wouldn't focus and I about tossed it across the restaurant. Not my finest moment, but stress level was super high over something I could've avoided if I'd just used my phone. I got the lens fixed and got some spectacular photos for the rest of the day though. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg)
