We moved to our dream country home 2 years ago and the one thing we didn't have was a usable bath tub. We are in the midst of a two bathroom remodel (As well as a few other upgrades over the next few months) and I'll finally get my soaker tub upstairs.
I'm starting to make a list of things I need to make it my retreat from the chaos and am looking for some new ideas.

In my last house I had a spa bath. While I didn't use it very often, turning on the jets, lighting some candles, drinking wine and ensuring NO interruptions, all made for a lovely relaxing experience. So get a spa/jacuzzi.

All I need is nobody interrupting me.

Heated floors, dimmable lights, waterfall bath spout, heated towel racks, oversized bath towels, bluetooth speakers and a TV. Then you can add the other stuff. Huge windows overlooking the meadow. Plants. Candles, wine, bath stuff, although make sure its compatible with jets if you have them. We chose an overflow tub, rather than one with jets, for the full soaking experience.

I'm not typically a bather, but we do have a jetted tub in a tiled surround with a small ledge. Last year after the election though I needed some self-soothing, so I lit some candles on a ledge between the tub and shower, piled up some magazines, grabbed a glass of wine and-- this was the best part: cracked the upstairs door a little bit to let cold air in so it was kind of a winter hot tub experience. I understand this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love the temperature contrast on my skin. I also have a Bluetooth speaker in my bathroom to play relaxing music or peppy music for cleaning.
So to summarize: ledge, candles, music, access to outside for fresh air.

Heated towel racks is a must. Once you get one you will never go back.

Lol at the huge windows comment scrappinghappy. It was discussed but I would rather spend the money elsewhere;). Great ideas everyone. My first bath is about a week away and I'm ridiculously excited. Funny story...we rented a room when we were out of town attending a wedding that had a huge Jacuzzi tub. I think my guy had thoughts of it being romantic but once he saw the blissful look on my face he wisely backed away quietly. It did light a fire under his behind to start the bathroom projects though:).

I don't do it often but when I do, I tell the husband to check o. Me after an hour 😂. Hahaha.
As far as things for making it a good one:
- bubbles - sponge - headrest/headband - towels at teachable level - wine - fifty shades of gray

I don't have one but I'd love to have a towel warming bar.

A lock on the door (says the mother of a 2, 4, and 6 year old)! I'm going to agree with this and add a lock on the master bedroom door so they can't make it to the bathroom door! Never fails if I forget to lock my bedroom door someone will come knocking on the bathroom door while I'm trying to have a few minutes of relaxation! (And mine are teens now! Don't want to talk to me all day, but I guarantee if I get in the tub, someone will have something urgent to discuss! When they were little they would lay down and talk/ stick their fingers under the door! That's when I learned to double-lock! If moms in the tub, go talk to dad!) My other must haves are candles, fluffy towels and music. I don't have a towel warmer, but that does sound heavenly!

something that foams good!A lot times it's hard to find one that the foam stays and doesn't disappate after the hot water. I like the softsoap body wash they have good scents and it does bubble prety good. the expensive stuff doesn't always work as well.

Definitely heated towels, it's most used 'appliance' when it's even semi chilly out.
Before buying a bathtub I have to climb in and check for comfort. I'm short so it's hard to find one that doesn't make me feel like I'm going to drown.

I would say dimmable lights. The rest would be icing on the cake.

Extra hot water, bubbles (or something else to make the water smell/feel nice), candles, a book, something to drink, a door that closes AND locks for NO disruptions! Oh, and a nice fluffy big towel for the end!

I've never been a bather. I envy those who can relax in a bath. I just think constantly about what else I should be doing. Should is in my own mind. In the past when we've had pools, I would sit in the hot tub sometimes but that was usually with other people, conversation, maybe wine. Not for extended periods of time though. I know I'm probably the weird odd man out.

Bath and Body Works peppermint eucalyptus bath salts the Sonos speaker playing my favorite music something to read loofah dimmer lights - or better - separate crystal chandelier candles
in a regular tub, I love those trays that go across and hold things. Mine is a jacuzzi soaking tub, and the trays don't fit.

I have a regular length tub but it's extra deep. I love it, it's not a big swimming pool of a tub I can wedge my legs in and not feel like I'm going to drown. The extra depth means I'm covered in water. What do I need? Some bubbles, a book, and a quiet house. something that foams good!A lot times it's hard to find one that the foam stays and doesn't disappate after the hot water. I like the softsoap body wash they have good scents and it does bubble prety good. the expensive stuff doesn't always work as well. Lush Bubble Bars foam and stay foamed. They are $12 Canadian I believe, but you cut them into 4 or 5 pieces.

I would always add just a little extra for foam! Lol and scent
