Sorry, I can't remember how to update here but there is good news 1. The feral cat we feed has been seen. Neighbor's are looking for him and will feed him outside so thrilled.
2. Found a car. It has some hail damage but most of it was fixed but is a basic, no extras car the same make and model of the old one so that feels nice. The damage made it cheaper. The salesman was so sweet and worked hard to fill it with gas. That was an impossible thing to do in Dallas on Friday but he did it. ( There is a gas storage due to the hurricane.) I was so grateful and he was so happy to be able to do it.
3. We found a house to rent. It is beautiful, newly remodeled and decorated in my favorite color - turquoise. The insurance company will handle rent and we get to pick out the rental furniture.
4. My wonderful Scrappy friend who is taking care of my two house cats spent hours with me and my sister cleaning up my metal die cuts and photographing and documenting as much of my scrappy stuff as she could. My sister helped too. My SB friends crop is today and they are going to continue to help clean and I am so grateful.
5. Might have a lead on a builder.
6. Wedding album is saved.
7. Found my father in laws wallet. We need that to continue to take over his care. has his insurance cards, SS card, etc. He is in a nursing home about 8 hours from here. I found someone we have been dealing with who can send of a copy of the power of attorney and that is critical. So helpful.

Sorry pushed the wrong button and posted before I was done.
Yesterday was much better so I am hopeful.
I am so grateful for all your kind words and well wishes. You are cyber friends and would not even know me if we passed on the street but I feel so less alone seeing all you kindness and concerns. I'll pretend that every person who I don't know but smiles at me on the street is one of you guys and my world will feel brighter.
Thanks for making my little world fuller and my heart happier.
I will never take a kind word for granted.
Thank you all.

Just saw this and wanted to say how sorry I am that this has happened to you. We lost our home to a fire last November. It is not an easy road ahead, but things can turn out for the better so try to stay positive. I don't know if you are going to rebuild, but we are using a company that we are very pleased with here in Houston. You can message me if you want more info. Please use respirators if you are going into your home for recovery of items. I didn't and paid the price for a very long time. Don't waste insurance money trying to have any clothing restored....waaaaaaay too expensive! If you have replacement value insurance on your contents, take the time to price out everything carefully when submitting your claims. It adds up...especially crafting supplies! It is a lot of work to list every, single item but it will pay off in the end. I started submitting my inventory nine months ago and still haven't finished! Take photos of everything. Get closeups and brand names, model numbers etc. to make the inventory listing easier. I saved listing furniture items for last. I wanted to wait until I was ready to actually go furniture shopping so I would have a better idea of what it was going to cost to replace everything so I could price it out better. If you are rebuilding on your current site, see it as an opportunity make changes for the better. We ended up taking our home down to the slab and were able to make so many changes and improvements to the layout. If you have any questions please message me. (((Hugs)))
