The thread about things you never thought you'd buy got me thinking about things I really wanted but now rarely use. For me it's border punches. I finally stopped buying them because I just wasn't using them. I would get so inspired when I'd see them on layouts but I rarely use them. I think I use one pair of scalloped scissors more than all of my border punches. I'm going to take some out and leave them on my desk and hopefully at least one will get used this month. That is if I can get myself to scrap at all this month.
Tell us what's been gathering dust at your house.

A sticker maker.
I too have hundreds of punches. I try to use at least one on every layout.

I buy a lot of stuff I don't know how to use and think I will learn and then make amazing things. But my skill does not always equal my big ideas, and my new toy languishes in a drawer somewhere. I am not sure if the last tool like that was the Fuse or the Heat Wave: both are WRMK tools that use heat: one to make pockets from page protectors, the other to apply foil to projects. I don't have a steady enough hand to make either of them do what they are supposed to do in the places I want them to do it.
I haven't given up on 3 layer stamps yet. Have purchased at least 3 sets and have not successfully used one yet. Still hope for those, maybe...

Elsabelle I love my decorative scissors. My scalloped scissors are my favorite. I have a beautiful metal pair that is one of my most used tools. I would cry if I lost them. Then I would reorder them from Ebay, lol. I like border punches. With the talk about what is not hot any more and border punches keep coming up I am thinking of the alternatives. I rarely use my border punches because they hurt my hands. ATG guns just went to donation pile. I use the tape but not the guns. They need to be loved and not collecting dust. Stamping sponges- Nope! I have never liked sponging and never will like it. Donated my sponges. Mixed Media tools- Huge donation went out a few weeks ago. Good Bye! I hope somebody did that scream of happiness when they found those items. Circle Scissors- If I wanted my circles to be wonky I will hand cut them. Actually, my circles do look better when I hand cut them than the shimmy mess of circle scissors. Yes, I do all the things I am supposed to do with that hot mess of a tool. The Gelli Plate- I don't like messy. I know that is so hysterical. Why am I crafting? I don't like messy projects. I just discovered diamond painting. I am so excited about my kits coming in. I was telling a friend about it. She was like "You are always so good with things that are numbered or in steps." Probably why I don't like messy. I can probably think of 10,000 other things but those are the top right now. I do like my sticker maker. I don't like the expensive landfill sin applicators.

The bigger sticker maker. I used to love my xyron x but couldn't find it. I bought a bigger one and used it once, did not like it at all.

I didn't buy it persay, came with something else. The silhouette stamp maker thing, it came with my cameo 3. it has sat in a box in a drawer since last black friday. I only saw it today when I cleared out the memorabilia drawer. I have no clue or desire how to use it. I should try to donate/give/sell it.

Everything. I buy a lot more than I consume or use so honestly I use most of it, but it can all be considered rarely used because I have so much to choose from!

The MISTI and my Evolution are two things I wanted badly and do not use often. There's always hope, though! ;-)

My Zutter, bought it and I only used it to try how it works ... LOL! All of my MS Glitters, they sit there pretty looking at me, the jars are full. And my stamps, a big collection, most of them never used.

My first Cricut. I now have a silouette that I use often but old cricuts needed cartridges and I found them time consuming and limiting...never used the thing.

I have a hard time remembering to use roller stamps, mini alpha stamps, and word stickers AND I do love them.

Mine was the Cricut. I thought it would be great to be able to make letters any size and any color. I just hated using that thing. It's not the tech part because I am good with that. It was just a PITA to get it out, put in a cartridge, select an image, etc. I finally gave it away and am much happier with my alpha dies and Thickers.

I'm a tool whore or would be if money were no object to. I don't mind them setting and waiting to be used, except for the memory maker tag punch and kit. That one I feel a little guilty about. Maybe because I just don't see myself using it.

I bought a giant clearance pack (actually, it might have been TWO giant clearance packs) of various Bo Bunny paper and embellishment kits from an amazing LSS. I put the whole mess in an Iris case, and I've never used a SINGLE thing.
The LSS where I bought the stuff has been closed for at least a few years.
I still love the stuff. I occasionally open the Iris box and gaze adoringly, but at this point, I can see some of the stuff is dated - but that wouldn't stop me from using it. I don't know why I don't reach for it. Maybe it's because it's very scrapbook-oriented, and I'm more of a cardmaker (i.e. if all of those lovely paper patterns were scaled to 6x6 instead of 12x12, they might get more play...?)
Maybe I'll make it a weekend goal to actually break it our and use some!

Probably the Cinch. I like to pretend I'm going to make/finish a December Daily (and make my own 9 by 9 pages) but have yet to actually finish one enough to use the Cinch to bind it...

Sadly, the Cuttlebug was the first thing that came to my mind. I love the thing and am happy I have it when I want to emboss something (I don't use it very often to die cut), but I don't use it nearly enough. A few years ago I bought a HUGE package of chipboard. It was a great deal at only $10, but if chipboard makes it onto 5% of my layouts, that would be a lot. And hey - don't hate on my Sew Easy! I love that thing! I don't stitch very often (boy pages just don't seem to call for it much), but I like doing it and for someone who doesn't own a sewing machine (and wouldn't know how to use it even if she did) it's easier than trying to punch the holes yourself. Gotta defend my little buddy.

Maybe because I just don't see myself using it. If you have different sized circles for frames, put three of them stacked on top of each other to look like a snowman. I suppose you could do the same for the squares or rectangles to look like Christmas or birthday presents. I noticed the Tim Holtz is now selling this same tool.

I just found about 30 sheets of Snowfall while I was cleaning yesterday. It would make gorgeous Christmas cards. No one on my list would know it was old since none of them scrap. Perhaps is you use some newer tools or punches, you could update the look.

I'm sure there's at least one Christmas line in there! Running off to look... ETA, yes, there's a bunch of stuff from the Noël line (2010 - even older than I thought!). I was looking through it and fantasizing about the beautiful scrapbook pages I would make. Many of the patterns are quite big for cards, but really pretty and (to me) classic. But I know that chances are slim to none that I will actually make scrapbook pages, so I may as well cut them up for cards. I still love the "shabby chic" look that Bo Bunny has always done so well, so the papers still feel relevant and not weirdly dated. Thanks for the great idea!

I bought the WRMK Sew Easy. Yeah, it's not. Broke it straight out of the box, first use. It's plastic crap. Went right back to borrowing a sewing machine or sewing by hand (which I find super easy anyway).

Minc! I made all of one gift tag (and a pretty gift tag it was!). Recently my college-daughter was home for the weekend and started playing with it... the machine, the foils and all the accessories (that I just HAD to have!) were loaded up and sent back to school with her. She is a planner-girl and uses it to pretty up her planner pages so I consider this a win, but also a reminder not to go crazy buying things! (She says, but doesn't believe she'll follow... )
