I think we had this one before but I can't locate it.
I do 20% but I think that might be too cheap.
My stylist is great, nice and chit-chatty, friendly and good.
I think I need to kick it up to 25%.
If it matters, she doesn't work at a large salon. It is at one of those salon suites where she has just one chair and works on her own.

I start at 20% and round up to the nearest $5 increment.

I only get a wash, cut and style. She charges me $42. 20% is $8.40 so I just round up to $10.

I definitely always do 20% because my hairstylist really truly does a fantastic job and does exactly what I ask for every single time.

My hair stylist moves up in tiers the more clients she brings in.
Tier 1: $25 for cut & style Tier 2: $35 Maxed at Tier 3 for $45
I have been going to her since she was Tier 1. I always leave a $10 tip even when she moved Tiers. I don't give Christmas bonus' s or any of that.

Is used to do 20%. Now my cousin's daughter is a hairdresser and she cuts it. I just give her. $20.

A haircut here is $20, and I tip $5. Seems okay to me.

My cut, color, and style is $145. So $175 with tip. But she’s become a pretty good friend, we get together about once a month for dinner and drinks. Since I almost always get Starbucks on my way to the salon, I also usually bring her a muffin or cake pop from there. I know stylist rarely get to actually sit down and eat a meal. She is usually very happy to have a snack.

I pay $32 for my haircut. I leave her $40. So an $8.00 tip.

I tip mine roughly 20%. He is also the owner of the salon, so I am always a bit conflicted about the tip, but I've been going to him for years and he does a great job.

I give 20% and another $5 if she sees me on short notice. She's great about that if I have an event that I need to look good for. A blowout is $40 and a cut is $52, so I usually just get a cut. At Christmas, I give a $100 bonus. She's a single mom and has been cutting my hair since before her son was born. She fits me in when I need it and I appreciate her! (and yes, I know she fits me in because I tip well. I'm ok with that.)

20%, just like everyone else I feel deserves a tip. (I'm one that does not tip for every.little.thing.)

I don't tip mine anything in Scotland. I tip in restaurants (10% is the going rate), and I tip taxi drivers on the rare occasion I have to take a taxi. Nobody else gets one, or expects one.

I'm all over the map (meaning I don't have a set amount or percentage) and she is the owner of the salon. Personally, I hate tipping and wish it would go away in this country. The only people I tip are servers, my massage therapist who is amazing and my hairdresser. OK, and the pizza delivery guy, since the only time we really have pizza delivered is when the weather is too shitty for anyone to want to be out in it.

Generally, I do 20%. If someone else washes my hair, about $5 goes to that person separately, regardless of the price of my cut/color.
I was Very Annoyed at having to tip the new stylist more just because she charged more for the same services delivered less well than my old stylist (who left).
For my boys' haircuts, which are $13(!!!), I tip the guy $5 per head.
When the bill is very high, I find the 20% very painful. That's why I like the more reasonable neighborhood salons.

I tip both my hairstylist and my dog's groomer 20%. My groomer owns her own business, my stylist is in a 3 person shop.

I give my hairdresser £5 each time, whether it's a cut, a blow dry or my colour. It's not 20% but we don't have the culture of tipping like you do in the USA.

My sister cuts my hair for free so I give her a $20 bill. Sometimes I have to make her take it, sometimes not! She's been cutting my hair for 40 years so I don't ever realize how much I save using her do it! It always shocks me when I see how much a lot of folks have to pay!

I go to a school and tipping is not allowed. I do leave positive feedback on the survey if they do a good job (most of the time they do).

I give 20% to my stylist. I also give a couple of dollars to the one who shampoos ($2-3). I'm wondering if I am being cheap to her? I wonder if I should bump that up to $5?

My stylist has me pay on her phone. After she plugs in the amount the next screen comes up with choices: no tip, 15%, 20% or other. I always hit the 20% button and it figures it out for me.

I used to tip around 25% but my stylist just raised his rates after ten years, so now my $10 tip amounts to 20%. He's the owner of the shop and does a great job with my crazy cowlicks, so he's worth every penny. Plus he's a pretty decent therapist too, LOL.
