My kids told me I need to suck a little less, and make more of my cards next year. I planned on making them all, but life got in the way. Even teenagers are impressed with the talent you ladies have, and the extra happiness that comes from a homemade card. Thank you! All the cards are wonderful, and both my kids SO think their families are freaks only receiving 10 Christmas cards. We haven't filled them in yet.

Those reminded me of the ornaments my 6th grade math teacher had us make. They were like the one in this video but only using 8 circles, 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom.

keknj Your display is great along the banister! Plenty of room for growth. 😉 And I have all of my cards from years past saved. I have a beautiful large Christmas gift box that they get stored in. Right now the new ones are in a small tabletop sleigh. I have a large mirror in my entryway that I'll display them on later. I also don't have Instagram, so once I get mine displayed I'll post photos here. What do you do with all the cards from past years? Do you look through them from time to time? I do still have my cards from last year and was just looking at them I will put both years together after Christmas and then decide what to do with them.

Just wanted to say Thank You So Much to everyone who has sent me a card so far! I love this card exchange so much! I wanted to let you all know that I am still working on my cards but will get them out before Christmas. I am running late due to health issues but am enjoying making them. Dh just took a huge batch of cards to the post office this morning. And I STILL have 60 more cards to make today I mailed International cards and east coast cards first so all my west coast and local friends will be the last ones to leave. Must start earlier next year I did finally allow myself to start opening the cards we've received. So many beautiful cards, both store bought and hand made!!! Every one of them has brought a smile to my face and my dd is hanging them up today

I am not participating in the swap this year, but my dear friend scrapsuzy has been. She has been in the hospital since December 5th and I am here to tell you just how much your cards have meant to her. It is the only Christmas decorations in her hospital room and she has them all on display. (She showed me when we were video chatting!! There are so many!!) She was going to take a picture for me to upload here, but I didn't want to wait to tell you "thank you." So THANK YOU to those of you who have sent cards to scrapsuzy . Your kindness and creativity have brightened the world of someone who really needed it. <3

Sending 90 cards to the US peas this morning from beautiful Venice Florida. The ones to my fellow Canadians and other international peas went out December 10 from home.
My family and I are in awe of the talent of the peas. Y'all are a very talented bunch. My DS says I'm a slacker because mine were all store bought.

Dh just sent another batch out this morning. It looks like some of my midwest friends got missed in my mailing from east to west plan But on the bright side, I made another 20 cards yesterday even though I worked a full day. I might actually be getting quicker

Am planning to pull an all nighter tonight. Migraines came back and am dealing with a sinus infection. But I'm having such fun making them this year, and having all of these incredible cards coming in every day is such a lift to my spirits! I was just saying to myself before I came down to my computer while I was in the kitchen making some coffee that next year I am starting in July, I don't care if I am in the Christmas mood or not

I used store bought cards for the first 3 years I was in this swap. This year is the first year I am making mine and they are very clean and simple. I love all of the cards I receive, store bought and hand made. It's the thought that counts!

thanks for sharing the picture.. not sure why but I always get a little giddy when I see my card in a group! I made several different styles so it is kind of a where's waldo kind of thing! Glad they are bringing some cheer to her- and hope scrapsuzy is healthy and home soon!

I dropped my last batch of cards in the mail this morning.
I'm working two jobs right now, seven days a week. My husband and I are divorcing. I just moved at the beginning of the month and haven't had time to do much unpacking, so I'm surrounded by boxes. In the last two weeks both my youngest son and I have been in car accidents - mine was minor; his was not (he's fine but his car was totalled). I have barely seen my friends in months because I have no free time. Life is hectic! Coming home to a mailbox full of Pea cards has been wonderful, and truly what I needed. Thank you, Peas!!

They are more likely to live a second life as next year's gift tags or in a crafty project someday. It's like getting a card and a craft supply at the same time!

Well, I only managed to make 20 cards for the swap, so I randomly picked through the cards I had already received and sent those 20 first. In all honesty, I spent way too much time on Pinterest trying to get ideas, I picked a design that was a lot more labor intensive than I originally thought and then they were a lot thicker than I had planned! Went into the post office to check how much more postage and had to pay $0.21 extra on each. No biggie, but they ran out of of single $0.21 stamps, so we had to put a total of 4 stamps on each envelope! Hope you all enjoy them and I'll make sure to send cards out to everyone; they may be New Years cards, Valentines or St. Patrick's cards, but I'll send one to everyone who sent me one! Thanks!
On another note, can we each upload our cards in a gallery here at 2Peas?

So my son was a Secret Santa and bought an iTunes card. I told him to put it in one of my handmade cards. The person he gave it to just glanced at the card and babbled on about how much music she could buy. And then I said, you also got one of my handmade cards. Her answer "Oh I thought that was a store card." So glad I have other crafters who appreciate handmade cards. On a good night my co worker and I exchanged handmade cards and got all giddy about it.

Here's an interesting thing that happened with one of the cards I received -- from Debra in Atlanta. Your card was sealed with a circle sticker that had a gift with a red bow on it. I'm assuming it was a circular sticker? Because exactly half of it, the bottom half, is missing and the envelope arrived opened. I suspect you didn't seal it and that was what the sticker was for? (I was lazy and just used tape... I'll do better next year! ) -- Anyway, it looks to me like someone neatly slit the sticker so they could look in the card. I might be wrong of course, but every year we hear about money being stolen out of holiday cards. grrr. On a happier note....you ladies are a talented bunch! omg those handmade cards. I was very happy to see all the store-bought ones also though so I don't feel like too much of a slacker. I've never made cards in my life and now I'm inspired to try next year. I'll have to start in June though. What do you recommend I do to get started? What do I need? I'll google in a bit but just wondered what you'd recommend. I'm not sure I got to everyone on the list but I tried. Because I left it so late I was able to reply to a few people specifically when I received their card. Like the one whose card left glitter everywhere! hahaha So I retaliated by sending a glitter one of my own. Anyway, I live with a dancer and there's not a moment when I don't find glitter somewhere. oy. I also object to the one who sent a montage of scenes from California that included palm trees and beaches. sigh... SIGH! As I sit here in cold windy Northern Virginia with not a palm tree or a beach in sight.

I'm not as talented as some peas. I stick to stamps. I stalk Michaels and grab up stamps and ink. I then print and stamp out my cards. I then color them here and there. I'm done by November without sweating. I'd suggest find a designs you like or inspirations. Make a sample card of a couple of designs and then go with you love.

I am finally 'allowing' myself to open my stack of cards tonight!! lol! That was my incentive to finally finish up my card-making and mailing... Peas got their cards first, and THEN I went on to friends and family (shhh... don't tell! lol!). My reason for that was purely a numbers game; I only had to write and send about 10 to friends and family, so knew they wouldn't take very long.
And, I finally have an idea for how to display all the cards I received, too. This year Christmas sort of 'snuck up' on us, and since my BF has been on the road driving a truck (he's been gone since right after Thanksgiving), I didn't have much holiday spirit- but making and receiving cards definitely helped me get into a holiday mood! Thanks for posting the ideas for recycling cards into other crafty items, too... I always emjoy seeing things like that.
And yes, next year I will start making Christmas cards in July! (okay, probably not, but I can dream... lol!)

monklady123 - One of the simplest ways to start is with a postcard card. I made full cards and postcards towards the end. I will post a picture of one the postcards I did. I just use a stamp and color in and add a little glitter. Sign the back with the sentiment or just my name. ***I must add that there will be 2 cards from me that I forgot to sign. Not bad!!
