Monday is ususally the night I tutor my ACT student, but he texted me shortly before we were to begin and backed out. I get an evening home I wasn't expecting. Of course, I didn't have a meal planned. I just noticed we have a couple hot dogs that have been in the fridge a suspiciously long time, so I'll make a couple pigs-in-the-blanket for DH and fend for myself. If scrapmaven can be gourmet, so can I. HA! Put the pigs-in-the-blanket on a doily. It'll look very sophisticated that way.

I have Picky#1 in her first year of University scrapmaven but she is living at home ... we actually live a block from the train that is a 15 minute ride to the University of Calgary which she now attends We hardly see her because she is always at work (Starbucks) or with her boyfriend ... or she is hiding out in her room ... I seriously think that if she went away to school I wouldn't see her much more I'm sorry that you are missing your boy ... you can share my moody hormonal 18 year old dd Wow. That's a really sweet offer. I have my ods who is also in college, but never ever wants to leave home. I'm good. Thanks anyway. I think her absence is also part of being 18. I just want some answers. Are you enjoying the dorm food? Have you made friends? How is the bike riding? (It's a school built around bicycle freeways.) I know it's normal for them to only give one word answers, but come on... lucyg, don't forget that your sweet little gs will become a teenager. That is why it's easier to let go, except for my yds who was an easy teenager. Maybe you'll get lucky and your dgs will be a super easy teen and want to go to college locally.

950nancy - is there enough for one more? 😋 I always make leftovers! Tonight I had half a waffle, but loaded it with sliced bananas, a little caramel sauce instead of syrup and the whipped cream. Only one gram of sugar in a serving so I had a few servings!

I asked Picky#1 what she wanted for dinner tonight and she said "You never cook anything we like anyway!"   So I'm cooking something they don't like and they can fend for themselves ... yes, I'm passive aggressive but they are also old enough to cook   Tonight it's chicken enchiladas and Spanish rice ... I use my precious Ro-Tel so it's probably more like Canadian Spanish rice  I actually looked for rotel in the grocery and they don't sell it. I thought all groceries in the US did. I skipped dinner. DH went with client's who didn't bring spouses so I watched food network Halloween shows. I'm so jet lagged here. It usually doesn't bother me. DD informed me the painters haven't shown up yet at the new house. Can't do anything from here.
