After seeing the last few SSS card kits, I was so encouraged. I really liked them. I ordered this last one. 12 DAYS AGO! And it's still processing. No email. Nothing. Then finally when I emailed them, they sent a link to their blog where they're having "growing pains". Nuh-unh. Not ok. You reach out to your customers when your order fulfillment is f'ed up. You don't wait for them to email you w/the "what the hell is going on" email. I don't even want the kit anymore. So disappointed!!! Reading the blog, I"m not the only one. www.simonsaysstampblog.com/blog/we-really-appreciate-you/

They are so slow to ship. I stopped ordering from there for most stuff. I ordered 1 stamp and 1 die and it took 10 days to ship. It was ridiculous. I ordered one of the $10 hurricane relief boxes and I cut them some slack on that taking some time, but that should be done by now.

I subscribe and always pay my invoice when they bill me around the 17th. I have never received my kit in less than 10 days. It's not growing pains, it's the way they always do it. I wish they had some kind of tracking or notification.
I have a growing list of SSS rants, including not being able to add on, and kit substitutions or missing items. I am really hoping this kit has everything as promised. If not, it will most likely be my last.

I've ordered from them several times in the past and have never had to wait this long for a shipping notification. It's just not good business practice. And the worst part is the lack of communication.

I placed an order on 10-14 that just now shows "complete." Another dated 10-17 is still "processing." If I ever get these two orders, I am done. Their shipping is outrageous and with the ridiculous delay in getting product out, I'm just done.

They are always slow to ship, but this sounds worse than usual. Definitely won't be ordering anything else for now.

Growing pains hahaha! It has always been this way. Before the CC 101 (and 102, for that matter!) online classes I ordered from South Africa and begged, in emails which were answered and my fears assuaged thereby, for a friend and myself to prep for the class. Hahaha! The class was marketed well in advance, at least a month, IIRC, and we signed up and ordered right away. Hahaha- this time the joke was on me.
International haulage be damned, our stuff did not leave until at least a month after the class was over. No reason, no stock outs, just pure SSS.

They are linked as a supplier by so many designers and classes. You would think they would be able to offer steller shipping and have state-of-the-art website services. Especially for live classes! Their prices are always at full retail, unlike the other largest online retailers. I wish they would put some of that cash back into modernizing their business. Instead, I picture someone packaging everything in their garage with their kids.

I now only buy from SSS when I absolutely can't live without one of their branded items. And there are fewer and fewer of those that are must haves.

This is the exact reason I quit the sub. I can order it on reveal day and get it much, much faster than when I subbed. That makes absolutely no sense to me, seems like subbers should get their items first. Ordering on reveal day means I can also add anything else to the box. Now I rarely like the kits anyway, so I don't order much from them. And anything I can get elsewhere, I go elsewhere because it's just not worth the hassle of full retail prices with super slow shipping. I did end up ordering this kit. I liked it when I saw it and tried to resist but just caved and bought it last weekend. I knew it was going to take forever to get here, but since seeing that blog post I now know shipping will be even slower than normal.
ETA: A blog post/IG/FB post is NOT the way to get this information out there. There should have been an email sent to every person who ordered with information about delays. Or better yet, as people suggested on the blog, a heads up about possible delays on the website so I could have been informed before ordering. I don't know what SSS problem is but they have had super slow shipping for a long, long time. And I've never felt that their customer service was that good. They totally denied shipping non-sub card kit orders before subber's kits which I knew to be untrue from personal experience.
Every time I see them post a blurb about "wanting to be your one stop shop" I just laugh to myself!

I made an order this month from them - my first. Took 12 days to ship. I was disappointed, but not surprised, because I'd read on this message board that they can be very slow to ship. I placed the order because I had to have one of their exclusive stamps. I also thought it was ridiculous that they posted that update on the design blog and didn't send out an email to the customers who were affected. Anyway, luckily there are many online shop alternatives that are super fast to ship, so I'll only ever go back to SSS if there is an exclusive product I just have to have.

I don't even want the kit anymore. So disappointed!!! Reading the blog, I"m not the only one. They still haven't even bothered to bill my kit. I was thrilled with it on reveal day, but at this point I don't even want it anymore either.

I ordered from them once years ago. At the time all the reviews were pretty positive but my order didn't ship for 2 weeks. It was incomplete even though I was charged for the whole thing. The missing item, a border punch, was the sole reason I placed an order with them because I couldn't find it online anywhere else at the time. I emailed them and was told the item is on back order. They were unapologetic about taking my money for something they didn't have to sell and not notifying me. When I pushed back harder, they all of a sudden found one and shipped it out. I was one and done with SSS. Since then, I've seen some exclusives that I would have liked to purchase but I just couldn't. I hope you get your kit soon.

This whole slow shipping stuff seems to be becoming more and more common across the board which is ridiculous. There is definitely something to be said for a company who ships FAST...or even in a timely manner. It's instantly impressive and as a customer you don't soon forget it.

So let me get this right? They know they are weeks behind in shipping but they only say something about this delay on their blog and not on the website? Thats crap.
The months right before Christmas are a crafters busiest time of year and they decided Oct would be the best time to do this shipping update? Wow. They 'obviously' know their customers.

That's what's blowing my mind too. How about Feb or Mar? Not right at holiday DIY time.

I ordered once or twice from them and they were so slow to ship. I started ordering from scrapbook.com There have been several items I would like to order but every time I order it takes forever. So I don’t bother. Very rarely is there something there that I can’t get somewhere else, quicker. I want some of the CZ stamps but refuse to deal with SSS shipping time.

I only use for SSS for their exclusive stamps/dies now - everything else I make a point of getting somewhere else. Ellen Hutson is pretty good at shipping quickly and they also usually send out a loyalty coupon if you've shopped there in the last month - which can be used multiple times.

They had a post here recently about their slow shipping time, I think they are reorganizing or something, it was on another site and maybe from their blog? Still sucks when you want your craft supplies like YESTERDAY!!! Hope your kit shows up!

Ellen Hutson is pretty good at shipping quickly and they also usually send out a loyalty coupon if you've shopped there in the last month - which can be used multiple times. I love ordering from EH. I forgot to order the last four watercolor pens I needed. I realized a couple hours after I placed my order. I called and the person I spoke to was so helpful. She told me to order them, select local pick up so I wouldn’t be charged an additional shipping cost, and placed a note in my order so whomever packed it knew to add those pens. They sold me on their company with customer service like that! Similar issue with SSS and a totally different response. Oh well. Didn’t place another order. It’s totally their right not to combine my orders. It was a SSS exclusive, but I don’t need it that much. Customer service means a lot to me. I have limited funds so I spend my money where it appears they care more for their customers. Ps - I love that that EH will send you their exclusive loyalty coupon for two months after you place an order with them. Then I don’t feel like I need to order all the time. Every other month to place an order is fab!

What's with all the commenters on their blog talking about how lightning FAST their shipping is?! Are people high or maybe delusional?!
Has anyone here ever experienced SSS shipping that they would call fast? Because I know I haven't. It's normal speed once it leaves their warehouse - i.e. not Amazon speed, but normal 5-8 business days or whatever most places under-promise to keep customers happy. BUT I don't think I've ever received a shipping notice from them in the same week that I've placed my order. So then it's a week or so on top of a week or so I've already waited.
I placed a Scrapbook.com order at 8:30am today and I got my shipping notice at lunchtime. That's fast shipping.
If I hadn't read this I would have never known that there might delays to the order I placed a few days ago, which is BS. They could've at least sent a warning/apology email after I placed my order.
ETA: I ordered a day AFTER their blog post, so they really should have sent something with my order confirmation.

If I have a complaint with a supplier, email would be my last resort. First I would go to them in person. Out of my range, I telephone them. Neither of those work I would send a letter by snail mail - certified - addressee only.

I feel worst for the person who commented on the blog post that they live within a short drive of the SSS offices and can't even go pick their order up after waiting forever for it. Ugh.
