I am so excited for the Army 10 Miler! It will be my first ATM. I have my outfit already picked out…how sick is that? Hope Elaine and I get a chance to meet you.

I am not feeling it right now... I'm just plagued with these calf/muscle cramps, in both calves. I took the weekend off and broke down and have been taking Naproxen. Which helps, so I'm befuddled even more as to what the heck it is... From all I've read if it's bilateral its more likely to be something other than physical stress. Physical stress normally affects one muscle or one side. So, for now, I'm just going to take another day off and swim instead of run. Feeling a bit defeated. I can't stop all exercise and that ATM is fast approaching. I am looking forward to running in the fall weather again, so hoping this passes quickly.

Anna*Banana - swimming is great exercise! Yes, swimming is great and I usually do swim, but the easy cool down after a run type; kick board and such. But I just got an email from my Dr. who suggested deep water running exercises to stay in shape and not stress any injury I may have. I've got an MRI scheduled for Wednesday morning and an appt to see him Wed afternoon. He wants to rule out stress fractures. Ugh... Hoping for something easy.

Oh No Anna*Banana, I hope you don't have any stress fractures. It is good that you are getting it checked out.
I got my power walk in this morning. I left a bit earlier and am going to try to get my distance back up some. I had cut back from close to 6.5 miles each day to more like around 5 to 5.5 miles.........usually closer to 5 though. Today, I went 5.8 miles. I might try to stick to this route all week and see if my feet make me pay for hours at the end. If not, I will tack on a bit more next week. The key though is for me to leave early enough that I get back before my coworkers start getting into the office. They are 2 hours behind me so that gives me some leeway.

I've been MIA but finally ran/walked 3.2 miles today Do you find that Map My Walk is accurate? It said my average pace was 12:11 mins/mile. I was having lots of trouble with my asthma today so I walked more than I ran. I love the Disney photos - congrats to all that participated. I looked at the Disneyland 5K schedule for May 2015 and IT SOLD OUT! The only thing available is the 1/2 marathon and that's 94% sold out. Wow I use Map My Walk and I do find that it is accurate. Mine calibrates at the beginning of almost every power walk. What I don't find as accurate is if you look at your pace while you are in the middle of a mile. That seems to be off. But, once you hit each mile, it seems to be right on. I googled this some to see if others were seeing this same thing and it seemed to be fairly common. Almost everyone said they thought it was right on at the end of each mile though. One thing I am wondering is what does Map My Fitness consider the difference between a Walk and a Power Walk? I was logging my Walks as just walks for a long time then I noticed they also had a power walk. Since I am a fast walker, I switched to Power Walk but I don't think it really matters. I'm a fast walker too. I will have to try logging as power walk thanks

I've worked my way up to 4.5 miles (run/walk) at a 12.5 min mile. Tried something new today - took a kickboxing class at lunch. Great cardio - I'll keep that one as a new cross training option. Trying for 4 miles in the am tomorrow and Friday, then 5 miles on Sunday. Anna*Banana, I hope you get good news and feel better soon!
