Thanks for starting this thread! I bought some Christmas presents for the kids and a couple of the It Cosmetics brushes (one to do powder eyeliner and a regular eye shadow brush). We did get the $6 lip scrub from Ulta and love it!

I just bought the Tarte Foundation brush and could cry at how happy it makes me. And how sad it took me this long to find out that there was something this great out there. Which brush did you get? I looked online at Ulta and there are a few different ones. I got the It Cosmetics foundation brush but haven't used it yet. May have to look at what you got.

I have finally found a combination of lid primer and shadow/liner that actually stays on my eyes for a decent stretch of time. Maybe not 24 hours but a working day plus at least. At last!!! The primer I use (and I've tried loads of different ones) is Smashbox 24 lid primer. and the lid colour/liner I've just discovered is Revlon Colourstay cream eyeshadow. It comes in a little pot with a brush incorporated which is ok although I usually use my own. I have a nice chocolate brown colour but I'll be getting more I got the Chocolate color of the colorstay creme eye shadow awhile back after seeing it mentioned on The Small Things Blog. I love it as well! I just use my fingers to apply. It is a great color and stays well. Let us know what other colors you try.

The shop I got it in only had a few choices but I need to find somewhere else to look for a bigger range. I'd like a charcoal colour next I think. I've been using a liner brush and wearing it as a liner but I'll have to try it as a shadow across the whole lid too.

I got a packet of BOSCIA Luminizing Black Charcoal mask as a freebie in my Sephora order and do not recommend it. It HURT like the dickens taking it off and my face felt sunburnt for 4 days. It ripped out all the peach fuzz from my face. I've read later that you should only use it on your t zone. So maybe it was user error, but I'll pass.

I bought the Two Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation a couple weeks ago and have been loving it. I'm also almost 52 and still get really oily in my t-zone. This has been great. I have also been really happy with Maybelline Master Prime Eyeshawdow Base - I like it even on days when I'm not wearing shadow, just to smooth out and cover some of the discoloration on my lids. For those looking for a clear lip liner...Rimmel also makes one. Rimmel Moisture Renew Lip Liner in Transparent - I like it quite a bit. The Charlotte Tillsbury lipstick in Pillow Talk is on my list to buy next. I have the lip liner and LOVE LOVE LOVE the color. I've been wearing it with a clear Buxom Gloss over top. I am also a big fan of the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquid Lipsticks. They are a satin finish, don't dry down like the matte ones. I have the color Éclair, but I don't see that color on the Sephora website. Bite Beauty Liquid Lip

I went to Sephora and picked up Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Foundation, Primer and Foundation Brush. It wears like a dream. I’m oily and this stayed matte all day. It didn’t settle into my lines very much and my skin looked so pretty, smooth and even. I’m very pleased with this purchase! No oily face and blotting a couple of hours after wearing like I have been doing forever with my Bobbi Brown foundation and before that, my It Cosmetics CC Cream.

So far I got the Maybelline super stay matte ink in dreamer. Like the color but I put gloss over it because I just can’t get used to the matte look.
I got the Bare Minerals nude lip collection from QVC. It’s a 3 pack also matte so I again use the gloss. I’m very fair not sure why I thought nudes would look good on me.
YSL all hours concealer in a very light shade I cannot read even with glasses. It’s no different than the Estée Lauder I was using and the lauder is cheaper.
Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM night serum. Weird texture when it goes on. Feels oily but not oily. It did warn of redness possibly. I have rosacea so it did cause redness. Said to not use daily if that’s the case I haven’t used it long enough to notice anything else.
ELF hydrating under eye primer. Just bought it and keep forgetting to use it.

I bought Two Faced Born This Way foundation and I love it. I’m not a daily makeup wearer and had to attend a 3 day conference where I wanted to look polished for at least 8 hours a day. This did a great job. I have dry skin and this has a natural finish and not super matte which can be aging (I’m nearly 52). I put it on with my fingers then blended with a slightly damp sponge. It lasted all day without touch ups. I went into a Mecca store where they have lots of different brands so they tried a few and this was my fave. I really like it There is NO WAY that you are nearly 52 (if that's your pic on your avatar)! You are GORGEOUS! Speaking of matte finish on aging skin....I have started using matte eye shadows for work and I like it better on me now. I use the black for eyeliner and it lasts so much better than the pot eyeliner I used before. I work very long shifts and it still looks decent 14 hours later. Oh you are way too kind. That photo is a couple of years old but I pretty much look the same
I like matte eye shadows but the foundations I tried that were very matte looked great and were long lasting but I felt aged me.

I haven't been able to find a foundation that doesn't make me look older. The foundations finds lines that I didn't know I had! I need to go to Sephora to get help finding a foundation that isn't as aging as what I have used. But I think it's $50 to get the "makeover" so I may ask for a Sephora gift card for Christmas.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow: a lot of orangey hues but I like them. I wish they had a few more lighter shades- I like more of a contrast between the lighter and deeper colors. Still very fun.
Two-faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow: I love this one- a lot of great options here. And it smells amazing. I go through Two-Faced eyeshadows faster than other brands- they must be softer. I love this palette, though.

I started using eye shadow for eyeliner a couple months ago. I just apply it with a fine chisel type brush. It is SO MUCH EASIER. I have always had a frustrating time with eyeliner, but the eye shadow goes right on and looks good and doesn't melt under my eyes. It might not work for some people, but I wear light makeup anyway, so the effect with eye shadow is good for me.

@gar I went to target today and picked up two more of the cream eyeshadow. I got creme brûlée and espresso. Kate from small things wore caramel so I planned to get that, but I thought it looked too gold in the store. But after seeing how different they look on, maybe it would be ok. Creme brûlée might be a little too shiny. We will see. Anyway, in the pic, creme brûlée is the lightest shade, then espresso is next to it, then chocolate on the end. They really do wear well. After I took this pic I gave my son a bath and wiped my hand with a washcloth. The shadow is still on like I just applied it.

I am not in love with foundation, never have been because it can look and feel heavy. I hate that Kabuki look. Recently my sister turned me into Laura Mercier's oil free tinted moisturizer. What a game changer! It's light weight but gives you nice coverage without looking cakey. It doesn't feel like you are wearing anything more than the usual moisturizer. It dries to a nice light matte finish that's lasts all day without cracking or fading. I have oily skin and I didn't get oily or shiny with this on.

I love the Maybelline Matte Inks. They do not budge! I love red lips and have never found one that doesn't bleed or wear quickly. I bought "pioneer," love the color, no bleeding. One application and no touch ups for 8 hours, and I had eaten meals in that time frame. Incredible! I hope they come out with more colors.

For those that haven't found a great foundation, I encourage you to watch Foundation Friday by Hot and Flashy and Foundation Road Test by Stephanie Marie on YouTube. Lots of through recommendations and reviews. Also know that if you buy one at Sephora or Ulta and try it for a few days and hate it, you can return it.

I have always struggled with dark under eye circles and in the past the best thing was IT bye-bye undereye. I bought some Neutrogena Rapid Dark Circle Repair and I hardly need any concealer anymore. This stuff is great. I just bought some of this today on your recommendation. Here's hoping my dark circles fade away too.

I bought the Real Techniques blush brush, an eye shadow Angie (Hot and Flashy) showed, and a make up mirror (10x magnification and with lights) from Costco ($14.99 on sale). Can't wait to try out the new stuff!

Also Chanel Gabrielle perfume. Such a pretty scent.

They last all day. The cream feels really sticky on my eyelids if I don’t put something under. I usually use a primer but one day I accidentally used under eye concealer. It worked great and the shadow stayed all day. I think I have all the shades of brown. I bought a new one the other day and It was something I already had. LOL. I got the pink too and I’m finally ready to admit it doesn’t work for me.

I recently bought a Bobbi Brown matte lipstick. I put it on this morning, and it looked like a nice red in my mirror. Then I went to get my hair colored and it looked bright pink in their mirror! I was asking two of the hairdressers if they thought it was too pink for me, I don't usually ask people about my makeup but c'mon, they're professionals! About an hour later, a third hairdresser came in, and started going on and on about how much she loved my lipstick color. The rest of us were laughing so hard, it became a unanimous yes for the color. So my review is that I like the color, and the lipstick stayed so nice for a good four hours. Bobbi Brown makes good stuff.

My niece had an Arbonne party. I ended up getting all the products in the RE9 line, I think it’s the anti-aging products. I needed an eye cream, I noticed my one eyelid dropping a little - eyeliner will get in the crease if I don’t keep my eyes wide til they dry. Also under my eyes has been very puffy.
This is a very expensive line of products but so far so good. I feel like my face looks better and my eyes look less puffy. Of course we’ll see how faithful I am to keep up with the twice daily full routine. I have a bad habit of leaving my makeup on when I go to bed. Hopefully this helps me break it.

Most of what I bought recently has been repurchases of things I already use and like:
Too Faced cocoa powder foundation (not happy at all that it got discontinued, but I got two backups to last a while).
Urban Decay naked skin ultra definition powder foundation (the UD website has it marked down, I bet it's on the way out too).
Bare Minerals 5 in 1 BB advanced performance cream eyeshadow (I use this in a skin-matching shade as an eyeshadow primer, I like it better than any of the others I have tried).
Olay regenerist micro sculpting serum and cream (I got a full size regenerist cream cleanser free as a GWP but haven't tried it yet).
Nailtiques formula 2 treatment and Solar Oil nail/cuticle oil.
A Bare Minerals foundation starter set (I used to use it all the time, but haven't for years, and wanted to see if it still works well for me. I got a really great GWP set with it too).
Bare minerals trial size BB cream I used to love (along with a couple bonus items in the bag).
Covergirl lip perfection lipstick (discontinued, but found 2 more neutral shades I liked and a replacement of the one I've been wearing).
And some new stuff:
Urban Decay Naked Heat palette (I really like the colors, they bring out the blue in my eyes and work well with my hair color).
Urban Decay moondust eye shadow singles (two colors, Diamond Dog and Zodiac).
Sephora brand rose micellar milky cleanser (on clearance, but liked it so much I got 3 more bottles. Smells heavenly, doesn't need rinsing, gets my skin clean, and doesn't leave it feeling tight).
Pinrose "Moonlight Gypsy" fragrance (smells like you're standing in front of the incense display at whole foods).
SJP "Stash" fragrace (one of my favorites, a very woody-spicy-incense-y unisex fragrance, got a bottle of elixir oil free with the EDP).
Mini of Tory Burch Bel Azur (smells like classic eau de cologne, very citrusy and light, will hold onto it for summer).
A selection of spicy-woody unisex and men's fragrance decants from Scentbird (Etat Libre d'Orange "Like This", Rag and Bone "Oddity", Carner Barcelona "El Born", and Montale "Wood and Spices". The Montale is the only one that's bordering on too masculine, the rest are completely wearable for me. And I really want a full size of Oddity, it smells like a pumped up version of Donna Karan Black Cashmere, but a true unisex take on it).
And some vintage items for my fragrance collection:
Coty Emeraude parfum and parfum de toilette (7 bottles ranging from 1930s to 1990-ish, although mostly pre-70s, and Sweet Buttery Jesus the 1930s bottle is beyond amazing!)
Guerlain Samsara extrait (1989 formula, that had the heavy percentage of natural Mysore sandalwood in it that you can't get any longer. Again, Sweet Buttery Jesus it's beyond amazing!)
