I’ve been reading almost all non-fiction, so would love recommendations for some fireside reading this winter.

Wish Me Home by Kay Bratt A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman Here's To Us by Elin Hilderbrand Seems like most the books I have read this year have been biographies or memoirs - I haven't read a lot of novels this year.

Oh, that's a tough one!
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman The Alice Network by Kate Quinn She Rides Shotgun by Jordan Harper
Honorable mention to: Pachinko by Min Jin Lee, I liked My Life by Abby Fabiaschi, and The Almost Sisters by Joshlyn Jackson ( I know that wasn't fair but seeing my first two choices mentioned so often already I wanted to give some other titles that were close...lol)

My top three would be: Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter ... very violent but enthralling Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine ... just a great read! Behind Closed Doors ... I read this way back in January but really thought it was a great book If I can recommend a fourth since you like non-fiction I would say that Trevor Noah's "Born A Crime" is excellent

I had two that stood out over the others, although there are many many more I loved and would recommend.
1. Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell 2. When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste NgBear Town by Frederik Backman (Currently reading the Alice Network which looks like it made quite a few lists so my list subject to change). I had a lot of really good books on my list this year. I'm halfway through this and I'm hoping I end up liking it better. I'm just not finding myself compelled to read it. I hate books that don't make me think all day "I can't wait to get back to my book!!!"

I've only read 17 books so for this year and I have so many on my TBR list!! I wish I had more time (and a longer attention span!)

I'm sorry, it was impossible for me to narrow it down to just 3. I chose the 5 novels that I gave 5 star reviews to on goodreads.com during 2017 so far. I'm rarely give 5 star reviews, only to the very best (at least in my mind).

GREAT Thread !
For me, Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate was by far the best book I read in 2017.
My next 3 favorites were : Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh Bear Town by Fredrik Backman
I have to thank all the Peas for these 4 favorites ! All new authors for me that I never would have tried if not for the recommendations of the Peas. The weekly reading thread has really expanded my reading.
MANY THANKS TO ALL THE READING PEAS !!!
