DH rubs his feet together at night. He puts holes in our bottom sheets at least 2-3 times a year. Does anybody else have this issue? Any solutions? Drives me nuts because the rest of the sheet is in great condition.

Cut his toenails? Just kidding.

My DH does the same thing. It is his heels, not his toenails. I just got some new sheets not that long ago and they are already starting to pill from his foot rubbing. There isn’t much I can do about it at this point.

will he wear socks? Can you lay an extra sheet under where his feet lay to protect the sheets? Moisturizer for his feet?

Use one of the damaged sheets to make a thing like an extra wide table runner that will go across your bed and tuck under the mattress. Put it down at the area he feet are. Then that will get the hole in it instead of your sheets. You'll also be able to flip it over or turn it so the same area isn't under his feet every time the sheets are changed so it should last longer than your sheets currently do. Something about half the width of the pad in this link and it doesn't need to be absorbent for your purposes. Put it at the foot instead of the middle. I hope what I am saying makes sense. www.amazon.com/Saddle-Style-Absorbent-sides-34Wx52L/dp/B01MFC01KP/ref=pd_sim_121_3?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=VM7F45AV6FGQ830QY95A&th=1

My Dh does this with his heels. He won't wear socks to bed, so I have just accepted the fact that I will have to buy new sheets a couple times a year.

Here is a better picture of what I have in mind. Instead of putting it on top of your comforter, place the bed runner on top of the bottom sheet but under the sheet used as a cover. I'd make it so it tucks under the mattress and is more likely to stay put.

My Dh also does this, but our sheets have shown no ill effects.

This has happened in the past from my husband rubbing his heels against the bed. And it isn't that his skin is dry or rough - he has very soft skin on his feet - it's from the general friction. Luckily it hasn't happened for a while, but we did end up with the sheets wearing thin and getting holes a couple times.

My husband has restless legs. He puts holes in all the sheets. I can extend the wear by rotating the sheets each time I change them. I should try the idea volt posted!

I rub my feet against the sheets.
I wash the sheets every week and rotate them when I put them back on.
And I buy my sheets separately so I can replace only the bottom one if I need to. They're cheap and I don't mind replacing them often.

DH made the comment that at least I can get some sheets at Black Friday prices. Ugh

I do this too. I only destroy them about once every year to 18!’onths though. We do have 2 sets of sheets we rotate.

This has happened with my DH too, it’s from his alligator hide heels, ugh. I’ve bought him so many different kinds of lotion and foot cream and nothing at all helps. He won’t wear socks to bed either so that’s not an option. I’m about ready to buy him some of that Babyfoot stuff to exfoliate his feet, they’re so dry and scaly and gross.

There is medication for restless legs that stops the feet rubbing issue. I have had restless legs since the 80's and would not be able to sleep without the medication.

nlwilkins-my dr. told me the medication is a narcotic and highly addictive. He said in my case, he would suffer the restless leg instead of going on medication. Maybe mine is not a bad case.

I do this, and just replace my sheets once a year or so. I have no idea I'm doing it, but when it's pointed out I realize that it really calms me down. I have two sets of cotton sheets that need to be replaced -- the flannel and microfleece don't wear as much.
